For NVidia cards I've only had a Geforce 2 MX400 and VERY briefly a 7900GTO, then the 8800GTS, which has had loads of problems with drivers. Guess it's just my luck but I even had troubles with my Geforce 2, and the 7900GTO I didn't have long enough (only 1 month) to run into anything.

The new 97.94 drivers are working very well with my 8800GTS 320MB, you might want to give them a try.

Same here. I tend to stick with NVIDIA's official releases. The slight speed increases in BETA drivers is not usually worth it considering all the stability problems I encounter.

I see some people in the thread with LCD's, any comments on if flat panel scaling is fixed? I don't want to bung up my install with beta drivers if it isn't, and Gstanfor I don't have Ghost for some reason.

Seeing as they're working hard on just getting a working 100-series driver... I would be VERY leary of a leaked driver with a revision jump of 50. If it is legit, have fun. If not, enjoy ruining at the very least your OS install.

But I for one am not going to take YOUR word for it, plus a supposedly leaked driver hosted on a tinyurl domained host. Now if this driver legitimately came from somewhere more reputable than you, say Guru3D... than I would happily replace the 101.02 beta I have running now.

There are freeware alternatives Text Text and you can usually find the likes of Paragon Drive Image or similar commercial software on magazine discs.

Having said that, if you don't want to try the beta, then don't try it!

I haven't given you *my word* on anything with these drivers. You try them at your own risk as with all other software. And yes, Acronis TrueImage is another good drive backup program found on covercds for those who don't want to buy Ghost.

I gained 300 points in 3dmark. Scaling is worse than the 102.x driver i was using because scaling no longer works. Oblivion is MUCH smoother now. It does still slow down inside rooms with lots of lights with HDR enabled.

It's pretty funny seeing nVidia being saddled with the "crappy driver" image these days, especially given how they used to be so famous for awesome drivers.

Those who think nvidia isn't working hard on drivers presently would be well advised to take careful note of the version number.

The version number means jack if the bugs aren't fixed. They could well be good drivers (I'll try them later) but a large number increase doesn't automatically imply that.

It is the source engines fault,

We don't know that. In fact all we have is nVidia's word while the rest of their lineup doesn't have any issues.

Remember, nVidia also told us they were "Vista ready" and also that we can expect monthly WHQL driver updates and we all know how that turned out.

Looks pretty good, but are they stable? I wanna see the bug fixes.

BTW, that guy has a monster machine. Must be nice to be able to play at 1920x1200 with 16xS AA and 16xAF

Apparently these are the drivers supplied on cd with g84/86 at retail, so there should be an official release very soon (within a few hours I'd expect - its ten past five in the evening 17 april here in australia and g84/86 supposedly launches 17 april. Just waiting for the world to catch up).

As for that guys rig - I'll be building something similar very soon and I'll be sure to let you know how nice 1920x1200 16/16 is (I'm a bit annoyed that you can't get a 1920x1440 capable LCD though short of going for a 30" model).

Ive been playing WoW on those drivers for quite a while now. (not 8000 series though, if its hardware and driver specific)
