This game just came out for two weeks or so in US. I don't hear anyone talk about it, I thought it'd be popular here.
Well there was a few threads about the demo a while ago, but no threads about the retail!
Is everyone just playing GT4?

my guess is they're saving the whole thing for GT5 on PS3. however GT4 kicks ass as is.
 
fired it up the other day and I was floored by the level of realism, down to the very little detail. This is a serious simulator, none of the other arcade crap.

I'm waiting to get the logitech driving force pro wheel for it
 
I really hate the anti piracy protection installed on it. It's pretty thorough, requiring one to disable all virtual/cd-rom drives in order to run it.
 
I just tried the alfa romero car... that car owns..
Only 350hp.. great handling and super fast..
And I love the grumble sound it makes..

Nothing beats the sound in GTR!!
 
Yep I saw that.. looks awesome..

I think the porsche 911 turbo is harder to control... I keep spinning out just from braking too fast(i did pump the brakes mind you).
If you drop the clutch too fast when you gear down while braking.. you spin out.. drives me nuts..
 
I think these type of games should be played with a wheel ONLY.. I tried to get into the game with my dual analog pad but its way too hard for me. I spinout way too quickly and I get too frustrated. Guess I just suck..
 
It's pretty easy to spin out even with a wheel..
You really need to be careful with the throttle to not apply too much power and cause the rear wheels to spin out..
 
i bought it last week at FRY's for $25 but haven't gotten around to installing it. My pc with a wheel doesn't have windows installed. 🙁

but i'll take your word for it. 🙂

No, they are releasing online play for PS2.

This game does look pretty damn good. My wheel doesnt have FFB though, only my PS2 one has it.

I think you got the little DVD case version... it was right next to the boxed one for $39.99 and I was like who the hell is going to buy this if the boxed version is $25? 😕

Anyway, if I've got the time I'll see if I can fire this one up today. 🙂

Sorry but when i purchase a game, i like diversity and 10 tracks aint gonna make me purchase this title, no matter how realistic this game can be.

Got that right. I don't play much, so i'll pick an easy track and run 10 or so laps. I turn it over to my brother who's been playing for hours and he destroys my lap times

 
That looks pretty sweet.

I've been meaning to set up my spare box for flight/driving games.

Maybe this well get me off my ass to break-out the FFB wheel and joystick.

Yes because mirroring and reversing it counts as different tracks. 😛

heh yeah I saw the boxed one too, it also costed $40, but there was a $10 rebate stuck on it.

You can download around 20 more tracks and a dozen more cars..
That said, I'm still driving the same track that I played from the demo. It's extremely hard just to master a track.

awesome.. real life spa..
It looks almost identical in the game, except for the last corner where there is a small S turn.. it's a lot bigger in the real life one..
 
For anyone who has this game you can d/l more tracks and cars at this website.

They also have other misc. things like car skins. Be sure to d/l GTR Manager, it makes installing the add-ons easier.
