50 LTW, time to get 10 levels on armorer and call it a day. Might level culinarian here and there, but don't really feel a need to since the lvl 50 ability is lackluster at best.
 
Can't really switch out my gear if I want to keep doing it aoe style. Having 6-7 level 49/50 mobs hitting you at once, need the extra def/hp/dmg. Doesn't really matter to me, just aiming to level the ah heck and with the drops I make a little bit of money when all is said and done.

I've had so much spare philos tomes and don't want to sell mats for cash, I have an entire DL set ready for my BLM/SMN when I get them to 50 now (both are 40) and am working on a DL set for BRD next hah.
 
Well, bought 2 potash, and 2 peacock ore, and put them on the market for like 50k each. They all sold within an hour. 200k isn't bad for 1 nights work, I guess.

Unfortunately, the step after the meld appears to be fighting an instance mob, which needs a full group, and can't be done via duty finder. I've sort of lived or died by the duty finder up to now. I don't even know how to function without it 😀

Well, I guess it's time to focus on other stuff, and see if I can get into any random chimera groups forming. I do see those every great once in awhile. Up til now, I didn't even know what it was for.

It did sort of take the wind out of my sails for wanting to do the quest, though.

If you go to Coerthas and Mor Donah and you shout there lfg you should be fine. The next monster you fight after the chimera is a hydra that you can't use DF for as well, again going to the zone the fight is in is usually easiest to find a group for it (E. Thanland iirc for Hydra)
 
on my server there's a ton of people shouting for it on the weekends. Shouldn't be too hard to find a group. There's about 6-7 chimera groups going on my server today alone.

11 more Prae/CM runs to go before I finish my darklight set.... (skipping gloves).

so tired... of farming.
 
So what's the deal with "Server Time"? I'm EDT at home (EST when not daylight savings). My server is located in Montreal, so why is the server time Five hours ahead - it isn't even running on PDT which would also make sense. I don't understand.... Time zone is equal to that of England.

For example:

My current time = 9:54 AM
Current PDT time = 6:54 AM
Current Server time = 2:54 PM

Shouldn't the Server time be 9:54 AM as well since Montreal is located in my time zone?

Japanese time. Like any MMO, server time is where ever the company/dev is located.

But in Japan, in the example above at the time it would have been 10:54 PM.

2:54 PM would have been British time. SE doesn't operate this game out of England, does it?

Thanks, but that wasn't at all what I was referring to.

Example:

My current time = 9:54 AM

I was referring to the fact that it is a Japanese dev and they operate at their time regardless of where the servers are for other timezones like any other MMO. The time they have the maintenance scheduled is right in the middle of their day which makes sense.

I agree with you, of course. I am simply wondering what "Server time" actually is.
 
200 more philo tomes for my last set of darklight armor that I care about. (don't care about gloves, will replace those with valor)

So for myth tomes: what's the biggest upgrades? I imagine relic +1 weapons are the first on most people's list, and then start replacing little pieces that don't have darklight?
 
Too long. We had 2 DPS and the scholar down for the second half of P5 and we were struggling to stay alive, and the only people left alive were BLMs (and a trapped BRD). The people that stayed alive were dodging everything like pros but the AOE just killed us due to lack of DPS. The WHM was a fucking champ keeping me alive through all those mountain busters. To be honest I think we could've nailed it if our SCH was a bit better, he kept dying very early in P5 to bombs or landslides. Not to mention one of our remaining DPS (BRD) was caught in a jail and we couldn't break him out due to lack of DPS.

On hindsight, we could've won that one if the BLM used the LB, but when everyone started going down we used healer L3 instead. That was a tactical mistake that cost us the fight.
 
Healer LB during Titan is NEVER a good idea. Honestly, once someone dies during that fight, the only chance they have of being raised safely is during the bombs. But they die during the last phase it isn't worth the raise due to the debuff on their HP, they wont last through the tamuts.
 
yeah that's what I've learned. Screw raising on p5 and just DPS him down or you'll never make it. If anybody dies it makes the fight so damn hard to win, part of what I hate about this fight is that it requires perfection from pretty much everybody and you just can't die.

Just compare the stats increase on the items for each slot to pick the best upgrade...chest/legs are probably the biggest upgrades for armor, but I can't recall if they're the biggest per tome spent. Though some people plan around best-in-slot so they don't purchase something early that gets replaced by allagan gear. You can find charts etc on the BG forums & maybe reddit that lets you compare the ilvl90 gear by slot.

I finally reached 50 on my SCH this past weekend, got through quests up until Garuda hard, and got a couple of darklight accessories. I haven't been able to run AK yet though...I'm dying to start collecting some myth tomes.

Chest/Legs are the most expensive tome items for everyone.

As someone who is running coil, don't wait on DL because a piece of allegan is better. The entire party really needs the DL and +1 relic. And banking on first the piece you want to drop and second that you will actually get it is BS really. You can carry 2 semi geared people in coil if the rest of the group is really solid, but it makes it a lot harder on everyone else.

Just get DL. It is easy to get with no limitations other than you being able to run a dungeon to get the tomes. It is also not fair to the rest of the raid if you are the only one who isn't fully geared and they are, they are having to pull your slack even if you think you aren't behind them you probably are and they are certainly thinking it.
 
I already have full DL, the only thing i'll be spending tomes on now are relic and alt class gear. I got the gloves (BIS) and I'll probably spend my next 900 on relic +1s before going for ring, body and crown in that order... if I ever manage to beat titan. I don't raid yet, but that's something to consider in the future.

+1 relic is the best thing to buy for like every job, the way things are calculated weapon dmg is a huge boost on your performance, even at just +3 to every stat/dmg on it.
