When you step back from being a partisan and look at the whole picture... conservatives/Republicans never really had anything to vote FOR. It was always voting against Obama. People are more energized to vote FOR something instead of against something.

That is never a winning strategy.

This.

You've basically voting for who will fuck the country up least.

You won't be smiling so much when you find out what a huge fraud Obama is. He's probably praying right now that no one remembers all of the HUGE promises he made. Over $1 trillion in new spending, no new taxes for 95% of the population and he's going to pay for all of it.
Yup. You bought it. Hook, line and sinker. I"m surprised he didn't offer a virgin to every man in the US with all of his promises.

Not to defend Dave, but McCain's promises were the same plus tax breaks for the top 5% and he'd balance the budget in his 1st term.

Still, Dave should STFU.

I never said that McCain was any better. Both SUCK. If Obama wins, I'll be crushed. If McCain wins, I'll be crushed. Either way, I have no idea where we'll be in 4 years. This sucks. All of you people who are happy that your candidate is winning are idiots.

I don't want any more of my fellow black American men complaining about how the country holds them down or how they can't make anything of themselves. SHUT THAT BULLSHIT UP NOW!!! You're time is up!!!

Amen.

I think Obama sucks the air out of that argument...let's hope Jesse and Al start to disappear from the picture...they've been pretty silent lately, haven't they?

I read a very good article a while back, I can't remember what magazine maybe New Yorker, that took a look at how blacks, mostly black politicians, viewed Obama and the election. It talked about how Obama is part of a new generation of black politicians that were brought up after the civil rights movement and how they approach race relations and politics from a different viewpoint. If that is true I think the main reason we are hearing less from people like Jesse and Al is that politicians and activists like them are becoming rarer and rarer. A lot of the black politicians today no longer see things as a constant battle against a white majority because they did not experience the struggle to gain political power that the older generation did.

It's amazing all the shit the republicans pulled throughout the campaign to slow Obama down. Nothing worked. In addition all of McCains gambles failed. This election couldn't have been better for Obama.

Isn't he known around here for pretending to vote Democrat?

A lot of the regular bleaters around here are going to pretend like they weren't behind McCain.

Good, I hope he spends and spends and raises TAXES so high Republicans like you will leave this country in record speed.

this election couldn't have been better for any democratic candidate.

Hitler/Michael Jackson probably would have won this year if they had a (D) next to their name after 8 years of Bush

I'm tellin you, Obama won here, miraculously so.

When does it tell you when the most honorable men and women in our country, those who serve in our military, overwhelmingly vote for McCain?

(NBC is announcing that military personnel are voting for McCain over Obama, on average.)

I hate to say it but in this country that's what it takes a black man to win the presidency.
