AP officially calls NH for Obama. Excellent news that it was called so fast.

HAGAN BEAT DOLE!!!

Glad to see NC staters were smart enough to send that old bitch packing.

Simply zero need to call Elizabeth Dole a name like that.
I'm assuming you didn't see her "Godless" commercial where she dubbed an Atheist's voice over Hagan (who is a strong Christian and Sunday School teacher)?

The dirtiest attack ad of the year in my opinion. I call Dole a lot worse things in private.

How is calling someone an Athiest offensive?

That's like being offended at being called intelligent.

When it is a completely and outright lie about someones faith it most certainly is offensive. It is defamation pure and simple.

CNN's tech is amazing, it's so good it really does add to the experience of watching it, they do some crazy stuff layering on screen, like as the camera panned around a picture of the senate they had figures constantly changing angles superimposed over top.

fivethirtyeight.com has 259 electorals for obama based on his numbers. That means another medium state and according to him, it's a wrap.

I don't really grok the world view argument when Europe has a grand total of 0 black PM/presidents afaik.

Because only 6% of the votes are counted. They wont call it because of that, different geographic areas are favorable to one candidate or the other. Until the favorable ares for McCain are reported, they cannot make a clear call.

Drama. The closer they can make the election look for joe-6 pack, the longer he'll stay tuned in.

Obama is going to win handily in the electoral count. Its going to be close in pop vote(which is meaningless I know).

Who called Ohio?

Fox did, but it was an accident.

GA called for McCain by a comfortably racist margin.

how come it isn't racist when they showed that like 95% of the black voters in SC voted for obama?

Its a wrap when they call, FL, OH, VA, or NC for Obama. All Obama has to do is win one of those and McCain is virtually out of it.

Just so you all know, no reputable media will call the election before polls close on the west coast. That happened in the past ('84 IIRC), and it irked a lot of west coasters. Still, at this point, I expect the election to be called by 8:01pm Pacific.

it's ok to make decisions based on race if you're a minority.

also, because 90+% of AA voters have always gone democrat.

FiveThirtyEight has been projecting a pretty hefty win in the popular vote as well (52% Obama 46% McCain), but who knows, maybe they're way off.

Virginia... Obama's up to 49% vs. 50% as the metropolitan areas start reporting.

The exit polls show Obama should win VA. If Obama over takes McCain, they will probably call it when theres 70-75% reporting.

Hey, no one said they had to turn their clocks back last weekend. They could have turned their clocks forward an extra hour or two until next weekend & started voting at midnight. :p

Anyone else notice that Alabama has flipped? I'm showing 52% Obama now. MSNBC shows that it is 47% McCain - the rest Obama - but it is still highlighted in red.
It was called already, I believe. Alabama will never go blue, not this time.

Yeah, Alabama is not going to go Blue for Obama. No way.

As more votes come in I think Obama will win Virginia, North Carolina, and Indiana. Very impressive.
