honestly, i've never played any guitar hero or rock band game. haven't followed much other than what songs are in what games.

so are different companies doing guitar hero and rock band? are they competing against each other now?

Yeah basically. Activision knew they couldnt hang with Rock Band unless they cloned it... so they did and added some neat sounding stuff.

Well, this is new.

There are still more game conferences coming up (Leipzig and PAX next month) so what you say may be true.

There's a thread in OT about the Bungie cancellation... it smells fishy. Smells like they're screwing with us. The time on the posting announcing the cancellation of the announcement was 7:00.

MS has promised some surprises for E3 (grain of salt) and when asked about why they didn't show more at GDC (like Alan Wake and Halo Wars), they said they saving some games for E3. So, who knows.

Following last night?s shock news that Final Fantasy XIII will release on Xbox 360, VG247 has been told be a very senior UK industry source that an 360 version of Metal Gear Solid 4 is ?inevitable?.

Kojima has constantly said that the game isn?t transferable to 360 as the Microsoft console uses DVD as opposed to Blu-ray.

I have this feeling(which may be wrong), that MS isnt quite done just yet. I think they may have a few more tricks up their sleeve.

With E3 being Invite only, might there be another MS event that is currently under NDA?

The gamers MGS is targeted at, if they had an Xbox, they'd likely have one with a harddrive.

Yeah but then whats the point?

The theory is they are holding back any annoucements, so they dont overshadow their fall releases.

Announcing at later game show does nothing but further overshadow their fall lineup.

I honestly dont by the whole theory about overshadowing Gears of War 2.

We'll have to wait and see. I seriously doubt MS decided to cancel everything at the last minute as it appears. They didnt have that good of E3, better than Sony and Nintendo, but they were all very lackluster, MS's just being the best of the 3.

I was disappointed by the Bungie cancellation, but honestly, can you really blame Microsoft for wanting to keep these guys in their back pocket after the other poor E3 showings?

IMHO, they're going to wait for PAX. In a way, that might be better for Bungie anyways - less other games trying to overshadow them.

As for the MGS4 thing, I'll believe it when I see it.
