I was with one of you ATers and they said if they don't get any legendaries in 2 rifts, they leave the game and create a new one. Seems like solid advice. Gotta try and find that loot server.

Gambled a +2 Mirrorball. Don't know for if the rest of it is amazing or not, but magic missile is pretty awesome now. Got +cc, main, and I'll eventually enchant +arcane orb. Rolls were mostly on the high end of things. Sadly, the highlight of my day. It was a rough day.

Which MM rune is "best?" I'm using conflagrate right now, seems nice.

Depends on your play style... and how much bonus damage you have to an element. I'm pretty much all cold so I use the cold rune. Switching to conflag lowers my damage by almost half.

But, if you use the conflag rune, make sure to use the Conflagaration (Sp?) passive.

Got a double mojo drop from a gob yesterday. Zuni mojo and thing of deep. I now have 3 piece+rrog for the zuni set bonus. using it with carneval, and it's blast. 7-8 darts at once and I use it as my main damage dealer now so I put ptv passive on. Now I gotta get that mask of jeram and tasker.

I'll have to look at the rest of my gear to see if any one elemental damage actually pulls ahead. And I'll re-assess my passives to fit in one of +elementals. I was using the top softcore build from diablo somepage.

And I'll have to double check that particular slot on my MB, it didn't have a +MM as an option, arcane orb is my current secondary, hence my statement. I'm going to need a lot more veiled crystals and forgotten souls before I try to re-enchanting it. I might switch arcane orb out now for another big skill like mirror image for use while archon is recharging.

I had finally jumped to T1 from expert, and was pleased to see that I could do bounties. Rifts might still be tough. And I think I should finally try to go for a RRoG to take better advantage of my blackthorne chest piece.

Thanks for the inputs!

So, I got the last key that I need for the Infernal Machine last night, but I'm not sure if I really understand where exactly I go from here. I tried looking up any sort of guides on how one eventually reaches the Hellfire Ring, but they're either awful (incomplete, etc.) or really old. I get the feeling that I need to collect four sets of keys to craft each Infernal Machine. Each of these machines brings me to a different area with a chance to get a specific drop out of the four that I need to craft the ring. Is that right?

Mostly. One of each key makes one of the four machines. Each machine can be used to open a specific portal containing "uber" bosses. Kill them and they have a chance to drop a ring component. Get the component from each one of the four bosses (portals) and then you can craft a ring.

I'd say it's not really worth the effort at this point. Prior to the expansion legendary rings were pretty underwhelming so the stats available on the Hellfire Ring were pretty great. Now there's much more parity with the ring stats so it's less useful imo.

Yeah, I'm not really expecting the ring's stats to be great for any sort of end-game character. I mostly just want it for the lack of a level restriction and the +45% bonus experience. In a way, it's really just another "goal" for me to try to reach. I find that creating goals in a game like this where loot is ridiculously random can be helpful to avoid fatigue. Switching toons around enough might be helpful for that too.

The Hellfire was really only good if you got a trifecta roll on it, which was far and few between. Rare rings rolled near identical to legendary rings minus the special bonuses. Only a few specific legendary rings ended up being sought after (Nat's was probably the best one, followed by SoJ). Now, however, since stats have been hamstrung into being awful (4 primary...), lengedaries with their increased stat ceiling are more sought after.

The new Hellfire ring is essentially worthless at this point. The experience bonus is additive (so adding 35% to 300% is not really worth it) and the difficulty in farming (50% drop rate in T6 for the parts) for it makes it worth doing once to say you did it and being threw with it.

No one equips XP bonus gear anymore.

There is really no point. Unless it isn't additive (which it is) or it has exceptional stats (good luck!) any other legendary that gives better dps and toughness will be better. T1 is 300% XP bonus. 345% XP bonus to go slower and possibly die more often isn't worth it. If you can fit it in you gear without much slowdown, then you might as well use it. But, that is highly unlikely to happen outside of leveling.

I feel like this hasn't been mentioned, and should be: RoS sold 2.7 million copies in the first week. I guess Diablo 3 wasn't as bad and a failure as everyone on the internet claimed.

Having farmed one out recently before starting an alt, I have to disagree.
You'll never use it on your level 70 guys, but it rolls level 70 stats and can be used at level 1. Don't worry about getting a Trifecta - it's not end game gear. Get basic +damage. It's a huge help when you start an alt. My hellfire let me start a witch doctor alt at T-6 and let me gain 4 levels off the first elite pack. Not because of bonus experience - but just cause the damage bonus alone let me kill enemies in T6 at level 1.

The only bad thing is that bonus damage is great until the high-30s. The problem is that's when you can get access to high-end weapons with a reduced level requirement. Since the +damage is no longer disproportionately higher than your existing weapon, it becomes considerably weaker than your primary stat.

I ended up running into that problem as I used to use a high amount of +damage rings at low levels, but they became useless once I started using the -LR weapons that I keep stashed away.

Anyone know a good place to farm the penetrator (hehe) white weapon? It's a crossbow. I'm trying to craft a set crossbow but I can't find the damn white weapon I need.

You can't use vendor bought items for crafting. That was fixed some time ago.

Edit: My mistake. I was confusing crafting with white items bought from vendors for salvaging white items from vendors. >.<
