Oh, I hate those damn events. The mobs spawn way too slow at the start, and then only come out in numbers at the last few seconds. It's not really "how many mobs can you kill in the time limit", because you *can't* kill the correct number until the last 5 seconds or so. I find that I have to save my big area cooldowns for the end and sometimes that works.
I usually find the waves to be a bit more troublesome, because they tend to give you less time overall as there's a timer per-wave. It all depends on the enemies that I have to fight though. If they give me an excessive amount of ranged enemies, I'm usually forced to use Blessed Shield (at 30 wrath each) to kill them fast enough. I don't mind the one where they have you kill an elite or champion pack. Those are usually really fast... except the one time it says, "Kill Adria!"
😱 I still finished in time, but it took longer than most.
Overall, my #1 rule for any cursed item is to clear a large area around it first. There's nothing worse than getting extra mobs around the ones that I actually have to kill... especially when my spammable AoE (Blessed Shield) has a target limit. I think I failed one yesterday only by one enemy because said enemy kept summoning other enemies that were getting in my way.
Steed Charge- Nightmare- steed charge is essentially required with heavenly strength, otherwise I fall behind in a fast clearing group because my speed is stuck at 110%
Is there any word on whether Blizzard will change the way the game works so it is possible for a Crusader to hit the 125% movement speed cap with Heavenly Strength equipped? I can understand putting a penalty on Heavenly Strength, but the ability is pretty much a requirement for any DPS-related build. However, as you've mentioned, using it puts you severely behind others in regard to speed, which is a problem.
condemn- unleashed- more aoe, lower damage but also lower cooldown
You missed out on the most important part of Condemn... no wrath cost!
phalanx- bodyguard- helps with single target damage and cleaning up random little mobs. also another cooldown to benefit from CDR
justice-hammer of pursuit- no particular reason. I wanted a ranged wrath generator and the hammer of pursuit rune pumps the damage up to 300% of weapon
I use the Burst rune because of the stun component. It even works on pretty much every boss but Diablo and Malthael.
I tried out a few new abilities last night to see what I think of them. I switched out Shield Glare for Consecration (Shattered Ground). I'm not sure what I think of it though -- it's kind of nice to have a little extra AoE damage in those cursed events. However, I still think Shield Glare with the +20% damage is probably better in groups. I also went with Heaven's Fury (Split Fury) instead of Falling Sword. I'm kind of digging Heaven's Fury... the Split Fury rune can do a lot of DPS to multiple targets.
Better than getting The Executioner for the 5000th time though!
Ah, that must make you the guy in the clan that keeps getting The Executioner! I have no idea who half the people are in there.
