So I just played for the first time after the patch, and I absolutely *hate* it. All the game is now is getting swarmed by mobs, and I am playing on only hard difficulty. My demon hunter that was kicking butt previously on the second difficulty level now seems terribly underpowered. I remember hating Oblivion because it leveled the monsters to that of the character, but this seems even worse.

I was seriously thinking of getting the expansion pack, but have pretty much decided against it, because I cant imagine going through an entire game like this.

You don't like it because you are weak? Have you tried turning it down from hard to normal..?

My demon hunter is level 37 and was dominating in the second level before (nightmare I think, I can never remember the names) with mostly gold gear and a lot of high level runes from my higher level characters. I dont consider myself a great player, and dont have any epic gear, but I would hardly consider my character weak.

It seems ridiculous to turn the level down to normal with a level 37 character.

I think a lot of the new gear is better than the old stuff so if you play for a bit I'm sure you'll find good upgrades. Also, the difficulty work differently than normal, nightmare, and hell since the monsters scale.

I only play hardcore and never play below expert difficulty, its very possible and fights don't take long either.

What is COTA again?

Crypt of the Ancients. It's one of the two mini-dungeons in the Festering Woods.

You basically go to the woods, find the COTA, clear it, TP back to town, leave the game, resume, and then take the TP point from town straight to COTA again. Clear it, tp back to town, repeat.

I run breached keep or heart of sin, honestly all those "XP runs" IMHO are stupid.

Not sure if they are "stupid", but they're certainly boring (for me), although technically efficient when done for a good period of time, which would be at least two or three hours. I've tried the "audience runs" (repeating the Royal Audience quest in Act 2) and with 3 other players (usually from my clan) on Torment 6 we would get around 1.75 billion experience in about one hour. I've done that for about two hours and got bored of it really fast.

I'll soon get Paragon 280, I'll try to get to 300 before the experience bonus ends, might be tough to do for me since I prefer to just "farm normally" and luring mobs them together, not just avoiding them to hunt for elite packs only (honestly I hate it when people do that in public games). I can understand skipping maybe three or four mobs roaming around, but if I can see about 10+ mobs grouped near another pack of 10+ mobs I'll definitely run around gathering them in the same spot and proceed with the killing. I do that mostly in Act 1's Weeping Hollow (nice density there, most of the time anyway), Act 2's Desolate Sands (and various crypts, especially Vault of Assassins which can have up to around 7 or maybe 8 elite packs, maybe even more) and Act 3's Keeps.

I can play comfortably enough (and kill fast enough) in Torment 4 with my Barb, but I wish that the monster density would be higher without necessarily adding up to the difficulty as a price (I.E. not having to move to Torment 5 or 6 if I want more density, staying in T4 but increasing the monster numbers, period). All of this bonus experience will spoil me, it's been like this since the patch came out and I'm getting used to get at least 3 or 4 Paragon levels almost every day, after that when they remove the bonus it'll feel very slow, oh well.

And calling him an idiot because he just started playing and enjoy his time?!?!?

Damn people, whats going on with you, call names to new players that just come in and share an opinion. Fuck I hate people like you.

Had nothing to do with the crusader, more along the lines of yesterday still being 2 days from release.

But speaking of crusader and the new loot system, last night I got only my second crusader only loot drop. So seems the smart part of the loot system is working pretty good.

Can't wait to give the new class a go. Look cool as hell especially since 1H and 2H roll the same stats lol. If it's fun enough it'll probably become my main!
