I started a WD today - my first one ever. I had a ton of fun. I made it through and beat diablo on expert, finished off at L57, and I forgot to put a hellfire ring on.

I got a double legendary drop on belial - a nice ammy and a leoric's signet. That was epic.

I also got a double legendary drop on diablo.

So I must be missing something but I can no longer use ground stomp and ignore pain on my barb at the same time and it's showing a skill for level 61 (avalanche or something like that). I had both of those skills equipped but then I switched some skills around to try some different stuff and now it won't let me add them both. I'll have to look at it again when I get home but basically they're both in the same category and it only lets me equip one from that category now.

Do you have Elective mode enabled? When I patched it turned it off by default.

Well, how it is now is that primary and secondary are separate. And on the current gear, you can only get X number of primary slots and the others are then secondary. So, You can't roll a trifecta with average damage, main stat, and AR or vit. Those are all considered primary. You have to get at least one secondary (and possibly more).

And, with the mystic, I've been told you can can only change stats in their primary or secondary status. Like, you can't reroll a secondary and get a primary. So, the majority of those "almost perfect, but has gold find" gear will never roll anything other than a secondary stat.

The itemization looks as if they are going to start focusing on forcing you to decide between the go to stats now. So will end up with a combination of crit, crit damage, and AS, but only two of each. With that said, crit damage looks like it can be phased down, as now the +elemental and +skill damage end up being great. Plus, with the new AR gem, you can easily take that over an AR roll.

This is how I figured it'd work and is why I'm disappointed with the revamped item system. Part of the fun of the game was the thrill of getting items that were the absolute best, or at least close to that. With this system, you're always going to be hindered by knowing you'll have at least 1-2 stats you really don't care for.

WD most fun class in Diablo 3 hands down. 🙂

It's all in your head...perspective, that is. You can still aim for the best items possible. The best possible is just different now. I want to get items that are the absolute best, and I think the current system is much better than before. It's not perfect, but it'll never be perfect for everyone.

I think it's different in a bad way. 😛

Just reset quests and cleared all acts on T1. Ran around 3.25 hrs and killed most elite/blue packs. Got quite a bit of xp and with the Diablo drop got 3 legendaries and a legendary plan.

My belial kill yesterday while levelling my new WD. Also got a double on diablo too.

Just started playing last night for the first time in months, maybe over a year (can't recall tbh). Got my lvl 40 Wizard up to 48 or so now. I'm playing on Hard mode. I've gotten 3, 4, or maybe 5 Legendaries so far. I'm finding lots of good gear. This is definitely more fun than it was before. I feel more powerful, and I don't feel like I have to constantly fight harder to stay alive than to actually kick ass. I don't faceroll, so it's not too easy either.

Haven't seriously played since a few months after original launch but am reinstalling now as well. All of the changes since them seem to have had a positive impact but I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the auction houses being shutdown for good.

My pet peeve, and I'm sure it's because I don't really understand the game mechanics, but I find it annoying that my two handed axe for my wizard has a DPS of 1308.6 whereas I just found a legendary wand that has a DPS of 1231.4. When I remove the axe, and use the wand, my damage change is -43.8%. Even if I use an offhand source (lvl 60), my damage difference is still -38%.

What gives?

Dave

Crit damage and crit chance can affect your overall damage. Same with attack speed.

My guess is some combination of the above is changing your damage.

So Auction House goes down during the next maintenance period tonight/tomorrow morning. Any auctions still live when they shut it down will go to the highest current bidder, so it might be worth it to try and get some cheap stuff by bidding right before the maintenance window.

I've been trying to flip wizard Stone of Jordan rings with AP cost reduction. I don't have the capital to get into the 30 mil gold range so I'm not likely going to make any money/gold from the last night of auctions.

Started a Witch Doctor last week. Damn fun class, better than I expected. I'm generally not into casters but WD is fun! I tried a Wizard but couldn't get into it.

I'm now level 19 IIRC on my WD and already got a legendary and lots of rares. Going at a nice pace.

I'm using: Poison Dart/Splinters, Firebats/Vampire Bats, Summon Zombie Dogs/Rabid Dogs, Haunt/Consuming Spirit, Spirit Barrage and Gargantuan.

Damn fun class!
