I wish I could spend a few hundred million on an upgrade. =(

Anubis, what are you running on your monk that you would replace your EF? I guess if you have a WKL, but personally, I'd never run anything but a Spear in my main hand on a monk. An EF or a WKL in the off hand, but not a different weapon.

im running EF/WKL currently. the EF was cheap as hell on the AH, really think someone misslisted it, which is why i picked it up, i had a spear before that.

Little more info from
http://www.d3sanc.com/news/diablo-3-expansion-pack-reaper-of-souls

New Class - Crusader
• Level cap being raised to 70!
• Paragon changed, now account wide and allows you to allocate stat points.
• New artisan to change the appearance of your gear.
• Enchanting - re-roll affixes on legendaries.
• Loot will work like it does on console ("smart loot").
• We will be getting 1 new act.
• Malthael will be making an appearance (bad guy).

Crusader sounds cool, I was hoping for a sword + board style character at some point. I just hope they're more melee oriented than paladin was.

Curious to see how the Paragon changes work out; I wonder if that means it gives you bonus stat points per character or stat points for the account that pass down to every character.

I like the custom appearance crafting, no more ugly blue boots and pants lol.

im assuming no release date yet (cant see the d3sanc link because of work)

the reason i started playing again was because i knew this was coming and i didnt want to be super far behind.

what is console "smart loot"
change to paragon is interesting, assuming you have 1 lvl 100 char mean you now have every char at 100 you just need to move it to the one you are playing at the time

While it certainly looks interesting, I doubt that it will do anything to fix the "problem" that the game forces you to replay the same content over and over again with no benefit until you're at the last difficulty level (Inferno).

Also, I assume smart loot is the removal of all those worthless trash drops as I recall they didn't want to inundate console players with the chore of having to pick it all up. 😛

I think 'smart loot' is essentially lowered drop rates compensated by a chance that they will be tuned to the character receiving the drop (I assume this basically applies to str/dex/int allocation).

New Feature - Loot Runs
15-20 minute completely random dungeons!
Random weather!
Random enemies!
Random boss!
Multitiered (severa levels deep)!

Random dungeons should shake it up

Diablofans has even more info

Looks like with level cap increase and loot 2.0, all current gear is superseded.

Lots of interesting changes. Excited about what has been shown.

Forum user: “It’s likely that when the expansion comes out (or shortly before that) there will be a 2.0 patch.”

Wuluxar (Blizzard): “Changes to the game systems will come in a patch preceeding the release of the expansion – they will be available to all players, including the ones that don’t have the expansion (of course for free).”

i just read in the PC gamer article that there wont be any more yellow portals (instances) thats pretty awesome as well

smart loot will drop things more suited to your char you are playing, so no more or less getting nothing but int items playing a barb

white crap will stop dropping after lvl 10 or so

I don't think there's anything wrong with getting items with a poor main stat. The problem is that you get too much vendor trash versus things you actually have to think about. I get plenty of worthless items in Torchlight II, but there are enough good ones too. Although, just because they're good doesn't mean that I end up using them.

Diablo 3 for me suffered from a lack of diversity in what you could actually find, and a lack of character originality. They don't address either of these things with the expansion. In fact I'm shocked by the lack of content they announced. Most game companies would release this size of an update for a few dollars or for free...

I really expected two new classes, two full acts OR a filled out act 4 and a new act. Complete scrap of the item system, with integration of something somewhat interesting...

What we got from the announcement was severely underwhelming an mildly insulting, much like the rest of the game I suppose?

Or you ask for too much.

And all this without even knowing what the price will be.

What you got from the announcement was, well, an announcement.

I might start playing again than, what should I do, start a new char or play my crappy ass mage whos most likely completely shit now?

im in the same boat, but someone showed me this vid with some advice for a cm build and budget conscious upgrades:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMrafcj7H7k

gonna see how it works out for me, got about 5m sitting in the bank, not much but enough to get me started i guess, if all else fails i can always keep leveling my dh

as for the price, im guessing 39.99 since its an xpac and thats the standard price for blizzard xpacs

i sold a bunch of junk back in the early post release months, had around 7 bucks in my blizzard account that i used to buy a couple of million gold back then, stopped playing for a while until now 😛

lol I dont think I have even 1m but I dont remember

i can help you with that if you want

if you are somewhat patient you can get some amazing deals on the AH. I mean seriously i just grabbed a 1k DPS wep with a sockt and stats for 6k gold

I like what im seeing but this is what i want the most

-server browser(d2)
-all acts(bosses, waypoints and events(ones that would randomly be in the game)) in the game you create. I dont want to make a game, farm the act and then make a new game.
-I would love cross class abilities. For example, you have an extra ability button, this button can only be filled by an ability you have from 1 of your itmes. This could be active or passive.

if they made these changes this could be the game i wanted from the start
