LOL newbish question, what are those ubers?
They unlock after you finish the game on Inferno?

Ubers drop organs that you can use to make a hell fire ring which comes with 35% exp bonus, like a beefy leorics ring.

The organs drop randomly unless you play in mp10 though.

You will need to get the plan from act 4, once. Then 3 keys from each keywarden in acts 1-3.

I'm trying to get back into the game after only playing for a month at release. I just hit 60 with my barb bringing my count to 4/5. I'm really curious how to get better gear/gold, I am able to do mp3 comfortably with my gear on all 4 of my chars and I have around 10m gold and I'm struggling to progress to higher difficulties without spending all my dough. I've got 2 infernal machines including the plans and I've used one just to see how hard the bosses would be and ended up not getting a ring piece. So do I just keep farming and selling trash yellows/blues hoping for some good drops to AH or what?

I decided to start back up after nine months away from D3. A little tough to start playing again as all of my friends stopped playing over the past year, but I suddenly had the itch again.

Spent some of the 200 mil or so gold to upgrade my WD a little and I can handle MP6 Act I without issues with the Cloud of Bats build. Next two upgrades will probably be a Witching Hour, while continuing to craft bracers to get some AR on that slot.

Probably try Act II and then Act III next to farm up some keys in case I want to farm ubers for Hellfire ring parts.

You can pretty much farm a lil gold and buy decent stuff to get you through runs at some what highher mp's. Eventually and hopefully you'll end up with a decent drop that will allow you to farm higher lvls. You can get good stuff really cheap now. I bought a hellion bow for my DH recently with 1300 dmg. Dex, CD, OS for 3K... Lol. Its better than most 1M+ manticores.

Found my second mempo of all time yesterday, and no cc again 🙁. 195 str, 60 vit, 58 dex, 9ias, etc. I wish that dex were cc

Don't feel bad, I've yet to find a single mempo at all. I've probably gotten at least 100 Two-Handed Disappointments though. I don't know why I even bother picking them up, lol.

It's fun to troll people. Get some frostburn gauntlets, don't ID them, then drop them just as your group kills an elite.

Actually, just for the lulz, I might buy 15 un-ID'd frostburn gauntlets and then drop them like crazy in one round.

Now I get it, this game is no longer about playing a cool ARPG, it's abour farming an Auction House and drop un-IDed items on people LOL, gotta love that!

I don't think you can pickup unID'd items from someone else? I accidentally dropped some one day and someone else tried to pick them up and wasn't able to. Unless they dropped it instantly after picking it up. It looked as though they didn't even get it.

A friend of mine and myself used to drop the staff of herding items to see who would try to grab it. Ahh, those were the days. I still have several of them in my box and toss them on the ground just to hear that *BLANG* and pretend the Mako Reactor is powering up the cannon. 😛

It's the only piece I need to craft that damn staff...

Really enjoying monk, Exploding Palm alone is such an amusing ability. It's usefulness is too often limited by my stupid Echoing Fury though lol. I love being able to play something that brings so much to party play though and still stands well on it's own.

When items drop from mobs/bosses, only you can grab initially.

Once you grab them and then re-drop them, anyone can grab it, unIDed, or not.

However, there are certain items that can't be picked up by others (staff of herding, etc), but I think they changed it to where you can't even re-drop account bound uniques on the ground...correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a long time since I've played.

You can still drop account bound items. Nobody can pick them up. The thing now though is if you drop a legendary, it does not show up on the mini map. They have added a mini map icon of a legendary drop, as well as an orange pillar of light shooting up from it.

I am loving WD more and more... firebats + zombie dogs + sacrifice is awesome. i am always running around with 5 stacks of soul harvest and 5 stacks of gruesome feast... 117k unbuffed dps, 210k fully buffed. i may switch the zombie dogs rune to Provoke the Pack for an additional 5-15% dps increase as well.

I take it one of those classes isn't a smash barb then. >_> I destroy elites solo. I can't imagine doing it much faster.

This is very true. Whenever I'm doing EXP runs on MP7, WDs help me clear the packs I vortex faster than any other class. WW Barbs tend to run off and leave tons of stragglers; especially in Weeping Hollow (the ones that seem to not think vortexing has a purpose), CM wizards have to start and stop their tornado positions, and DHs usually have to jump around a lot (traps, trails, firing angles, etc.).

Prior to 1.08 I never saw anyone vortexing on their monks. Now I see it quite often and it's a dilemma because you want one centralized point of gathering, not several. And no one ever talks when they're playing - to strategize or have a plan of attack. They just run in with whatever skills they're used to or have built their gear for, regardless of who else is in party.

I need to find more people that actually want to play a multiplayer game as a team. >.<

And for the love of god, anyone that plays a monk, please stop using SW: Cyclone unless you have a WKL equipped and have 40%+ CC. You'll do more DPS and/or have better utility with other SW runes! Yes, there are other runes!

I wish I could Cyclone Strike on my monk but I feel like it's really limited by the number of enemies it can pull in (or maybe I'm spoiled by Ancient Spear lol), though it would be enough for a group of rares or elites I suppose. I think I'd have to drop Exploding Palm or Breath of Heaven for it; EP is half the reason I'd even want to use it and losing BoH is giving up monk's 'battle rage' essentially as well as Guiding Light in a group setting. Though could rune CS for the heal for Guiding Light I suppose.

How much dps is your smash barb fully buffed? Mines at @ 300+ buffed, doesn't take down elites quicker than my wd's bears @ 200 or so dps. Actually, my wd is usually buffed up to around 250 or so with souls harvested.

EP isn't good in group play because if only explodes for the HP before the group buff. In single play, it is wonderful because you can kill packs by killing a single mob, however, in group it just isn't as efficient as cycloning them all in.


I think SW - Cyclones is really the best DPS option. The other runes lack in comparison. The longer lasting one is worthless, and once you get decent crit chance, none of the others really pump out mass dps.

Fully buffed I am close to 400k. I will have to check exactly. That is with an EF and a mighty weapon as well, so my smash isn't as hard hitting, but much quicker. MP8, I can clear an elite pack without shielding in a few seconds. I am also built for a pure WW spec, so I have tons of crit and enough APS to hit the breakpoint I am after.

Ah, noted, that would make me think differently about it. I did some ubers the other night and Rakanoth EPed on Ghom, but it did "only" 50M or something, I figured it was just due to damage reduction but that would explain it.

And I have a 25% lightning WKL and 40% crit, the damage differential between having SW and not is just tremendous. I wouldn't consider anything else at this point.

Geez. My DH is ~280 unbuffed, and with all the DH cheats on I can get over 500k I think. I can't kill stuff very fast though as effective dps on DHs is pretty low 🙁

I do play with a DH who is 545k unbuffed... running with him is pretty nuts.

I've only solo'ed, but I can imagine a monk cycloning stuff into my cloud of bats make killing the big pulls I do in MP6-7 in Act 1 go a lot faster.
