once you get the gear, inferno is easier solo then as a group, unless you happen to join a group where everyone is awesome. I pretty much solo

This is only true if you run into guys that are intent on thinking resistance gear over DPS is the way to go, steamrolling with multiple high dps players is a lot faster than soloing imo.

Doubt all you want, my experience is that my wizard handles content more easily then my decked out barb.

Sorry for the mix up on skill names.

Probably fits your playstyle better.

However, according to the top PLs out there, there are scores more barbarians than wizards. I'm sure that says something.

And then those games end abruptly when they run into a rather annoying elite pack, everyone dies over and over, and you have to find another public game to join.

Find a few peeps that are reliable and don't suck and run with them constantly instead of just public games over and over.

Solo is just the most reliable of all of your options. And also the fastest way to exp.

Well since i can't post at home due to my IP being banned dunno why..

135k DPS no active buffs
91.5k HP
10k Armor
700-800 All Resist
20% Dodge
750 Regen

No doubt, I think there is a stat "line" that once it is passed makes barbs crazy good. Thanks to Paragon levels, that line is getting easier to pass. I can farm all of inferno as my Barb, but it ceased being fun as I can only do it as 1, maybe 2 builds. Meanwhile he is only paragon level 6. I thought farming paragon would be fun, but I couldn't help but think of how much farming I've already done on my barb and it makes the grind annoying. I might just be enjoying the change of pace from melee to ranged too.

I am willing to bet I'll jump back onto the Barb once I can grab a strong 2 hander, which was always my favorite way to play Barbs. I nearly won a cheap Grandfather that would've been a nice improvement, but sniping is rampant on no buyout stuff.

I'm actually doing the opposite of you. I have about 400 hours on a wizard I played since the game came out. I was getting bored of the game so I figured I'd make a move to a different class. I tried a WD but hated that class so now I'm trying the barb. I put all my main gear for my wizard on the AH so I didn't get tempted to go back.

I should have around 170m by the time 1.05 hits to gear a barb. I'll probably wait around a week or so after it comes out to start buying things.

How do you not like the WD? Did you try the Grave injustice build? Similar to Crit Mass for Wiz, but WD does alot more damage even at a lower dps. At 50k dps, I can almost whoop on Azmo before his dark puddles come out.

I have every class, except monk, at 60 and I like my WD the best.

I never got the WD to 60. I believe he's at 40 right now. I'm not going to invest another 4-6 hours to get him to 60 if he's not fun to play now. I found a lot of his skills boring for some reason. With ~200m budget, any class can have sufficient dps to make act3 easy but that doesn't make it fun to play for me.

well this is completely fucking bullshit, it's completely random.

It's obviously completely random, but if you're running full clears ( killing all mob white/elite/champs ) popping all the poppable chests/sticks/etc.. 3 full Clears will net you I would say atleast 1 legendary in A3 on the average.

There might be runs where you find 2 legendaries but average atleast from my experience is 3 full clears :1 legendary.

idk, I think the WD has the most interesting skills. hex, big bad voo doo, fetishes. Passives like gruesome feast, and grave injustice. I barely spent anything on my WD as well, and he can pwn. Act 3 with out much of an investement at all. In fact, building a good WD is pretty cheap overall b/c ias and crit aren't as important to the WD as other classes. Crit is very good to have, but pickup radius is more important for someone using gruesome feast which stacks int for you and refills your mana as you pick up globes. Which is why "thing of the deep" is pretty valuable to WD. It comes with 20 yd. pick up radius.

Just my opinion, and sharing my exp. playing WD.

I actually found the Barb to be extremely boring and repetive at around 40, but I like my Barb to now. Running around with tornados is lots of fun, but face rolling elites with the WD is even better.

Gonna try this theory. I usually go keep depths, bunker, areate 1, 2, core, azmo. Definitely don't get 1 legendary per 3 runs.

What usually happens with me is ~ is that all my set items ( considered legendary ) are from white trash mobs ).
Brown ones come from elites/champs

I usually go this route solo.

Cursed --> Cydaea--> Azmo
Keep 1 --> 3
Arreat Crater -> Damned Towers--> Crater 2
Rakkis --> Fields backwards.
Stone - backwards then forward.

If I run with Dark. We usually do everything in order but only kill elites.

You can clear Normal/Nightmare/Hell without it no problem. Once you start to progress into inferno (though A1 may be doable if you farm a bit on your own, hard to say) it's definitely the best way to get what you need.

That's good to know. I think I'm just going to have fun with it, not be as serious as I was with D2. I'm going to see how far I can get with just my drops, crafts and vendor purchases.

I hear that the cost of crafting gets pretty high later on which is dissapointing, since you also need the mats. Hopefully it will be somewhat worthwhile.

So, I d/led the client and tried out the PTR for a bit.

Remembered why I stopped playing shortly thereafter. My equipment isn't good enough to farm effectively, but isn't bad enough for upgrades to be easy to come by.

And Blizzard's claim MP4 is the same difficulty as 1.04 is a bald faced lie. They've got like quadruple hp a MP1.

it's a lie at MP3, it's slightly harder than 1.04... I haven't tried MP2

MP1 on the other hand is certainly easier than 1.04, I steamrolled it on my current budget gear that cost me less than 8m.

8m is nothing now what with the paragon system, not to mention inflation. I could technically have done just as well on 2m for 1.05 but I spent 8m because we're still in 1.04. 8m was about $5 on the rmah about a week ago.

And with my 8m gear which I got last week. I've already farmed and made about 100m in loot and gold. Well more like 200m given that I found some upgrades.

With my previous gear which was worth about 500m, I ran A3 in about 35-45 mins. With my 8m gear, I'md oing it in 55-70 mins.

I'm only at 3.4M and started playing from 1.04 about 1-1.5 mo ago. I haven't sold anything major on the AH though and I'm still having trouble determining pricing on items to put on the AH.

Sometimes I feel like I get too many rares, can't sell any, and then just dump them off to a vendor. Chances are I've vendored a couple items that would have sold for a lot.

However, I think I'm slowly starting to get used to determining if an item is worth something or not.

yea it's a matter of pricing an item and figuring out what it's worth. I have a bunch of rings and amulets I need to move. I thinking about just getting someone to buy the whole lot for a small amount and have them deal with the issue.
