At this moment I can't wait for torchlight 2 to come out. The AH has ruined any type of fun this game could have been. It seems I have a better chance of winning the powerball than finding a single set item (154 hours, not a single set item).

I also find it funny how D3 didn't build on the random dungeon capabilities of D1 and D2. All maps in D3 have 1-3 templates, thats about it. Boring as hell doing the same act over and over and finding nothing of use.

Blizzard is slaughtering thier reputation with D3 and SC.

For the WW build, what rune to use with WW and what passives?

Sprint – Run like the Wind
Whirlwind – can’t recall the rune name, but I used the one that doubles the movement speed while it is active
Bash – Provocation OR Cleave – Reaping Blow Both for fury generation
Warcry – Cant recall the name (I SUCK at remembering skill names) but whichever that increases Crit chance.
Shout- whichever you like. I go with the one that increases resistance.

For the build to be really good, you need to stack IAS and crit chance as much as possible. Fastest weapon in main hand if you duel wield.
If sword/board try to have a good crit damage weapon/LoH and a shield with block% and crit chance.
Run speed affects number or tornados generated with ‘Run like the wind’. More tornados, more DPS.
IAS affects WW. Seems like a no brainer, but many barbs don’t use it on WW.

When in full DPS gear I am at 75k DPS, 950+ res all and 53k health when buffed with Warcry and shout.
I still have a lot of room for improvement.

I was. I had probably gotten through 7 checkpoints?

Each "major quest" has a lot of checkpoints in itself. Did you for example finish lighting all the fires, lift the catapaults and then open up the keep and kill grom? I should clarify: the "checkpoints" i'm talking about are the major quests that get their own tab and dropdowns in the quest selection menu. Each one could have 6-7 different checkpoints.

Ah I see what you're saying; probably not. That's pretty lame though, so I have to go all the way back and kill belial again? Lame.

I feel your pain. On my first play through in Act 3, I must have done the Spider/Azmodan quest 5-6 times before I actually was able to get to Act IV.

Each I ran that quest, I thought I could quit and start up again where I left off. I didn't how far I had to go before I would get to the next major 'save' point. So it was pretty frustrating to have to run those same places over and over again.

If you killed belial and didn't do the whole soulstone thing, I'm not sure it'd have saved that whole chapter. You'd probably have to physically zone into act 3 in order for it to finish that piece.

finally got a nice drop last night
sun keeper legendary, 1075 dps
browsing AH shows they're going for ~70 mil around my dps

will probably sell it and buy 1-2 pieces of gear for my barb if lucky LOL

Id seriously doubt youd get 70 mil for that. Keep in mind, what they are listed for and what they are worth are two different things. 😛 Id say that is in more of the 4-20 mil range. People use those for their mercs, not actually on their mains. It sells for alot because it has high mf on it since the patch.

Ya, that sucks, but luckily, Belial's not too bad if you have a non-incompetent group where 4 people contribute. I solo'd him with my DH in one try over the weekend. Trick is just to dodge the green balls and/or have a skill that makes you take no damage for a few seconds when you can't dodge.

All the record breaking sales and copies sold would disagree with you.

I doubt that my friend. The enchantress would love you though.

ah lol damnit, i'll price mine a bit below the standard asking price and if it doesn't sell it doesn't. all the ones i saw last night were in the 800dps range. i'd give it to my enchantress but i need the $ to try and gear up my barb more

D3 sold at the pace it did off the back of D2: LoD. Every real life friend of mine quit after completing regular due to how awful the game was. They also said they will not be purchasing another Blizzard game.

Out of my group of eight people, I am the last person playing.

I enjoy this game, but it is awful for a Diablo game.

k, thanks man.

Top down spamclick lootfests are an already shallow, overdone genre that now faces a much more competitive [online] game market. There's not much hope for them period far as I'm concerned. D3 was everything I expected and I had fun with it, but part of that expectation was most definitely putting it down after just a month or two as well.

The sales on D3 basically reflect the reputation they got from D2. Sure they might have record breaking sales for D3, put its pretty clear from items available on the AH that the player base has dropped significantly. Alot of people are dissapointed in this game. Prior to this everyone praised blizzard for being able to release spectacular games.

People aren't as stupid as you think. They all know the item drop rates are ludicrously low to support auction house transactions. Thier reputation of creating good games for the sake of gaming and fun is forever tarnished by breaking game mechanics for the sake of making an extra buck.

I think the auction house is kind of a beta for Blizzard for future games to see if such micro-transactions are a viable business model. I don't have a problem with the loot system in general (rare stuff is truly rare), but I know many people who are and that has muted their enjoyment for the game which is a shame because it has overshadowed the game engine and mechanics which I believe to be superb.

You seem blissfully unaware of the ludicrously low drop rates in D2.

I did though; I had lit a couple of the signal fires before having to quit to go do other stuff

yeah I roll him pretty bad with my barb. Took about 45 seconds, it's just fighting my way to him, and then redoing up to where I was in A3. Lame.

Farming every day for a couple hours and never finding anything worth selling gets frustrating pretty quick. I fill up inventory with 60+ rares twice a day and can't find anything worthwhile. I've been having dreams I'm finding legendaries the past few nights though, I think that means I've been playing too much >_>

Still waiting for that jackpot drop. 300+ hours and my highest selling item is 3m, with 2nd place being 900k. I have a good amount of MF too (around 220%), doing Act 3 inferno mostly. It be sad. Might try my hand at crafting some items because I'm not getting ANY good drops. Crafting is a big-time crapshoot risk though. If I were to try crafting some things, what should I do?
