A full set of Natalyas gear can get you close. There was a glitch that allowed unlimited, but I think they fixed it.

Oh, saw some guy on Youtube infinitely spam smoke screen on Inferno Bilial.. This was even before 1.03. Figured that was some kind of glitch.

Whats the best character for Hard Core?

I have tried all classes accept Witch Doctor. I like Monk the best but I started as a Monk and finished the game with one before even trying another class. Demon Hunter is OK and I started a character and I'm at level 24 with that. I also started a Wizard and didn't love it and also a Barbarian that I don't really like at all - played both of those classes to level 10.

I dont think too many play anything except monk and barb in HC. Why? Cause they are all too squishy and eventually will die. I think monk and barbs have a much easier time of not dying. I just started HC so I cant say, but I am doing a monk. Most do barb I think.

You can still get pretty close. A little secret, use the DH passive that gives +disc upon crit as well as running items with added disc or disc regen. With preparation, you can get upwards of 10+ casts of it before running out of discipline if you build right. That should be plenty to take out any elite packs.

Is that because Barb is the most indestructible class? Because Monk was a lot easier for me, I never even died until I got to Hell.

However, it might be different if I started a Monk today since so much has changed

barbs scale much better with gear and their defensive cooldowns are far superior to monk cooldowns

So the gold RMAH went live with todays maintenance... same problem with other commodities, min bid must be .25/100k

I put up 10m just for shits n giggles and it sold within minutes. My cut was about $21.5 after bliz 15%(took bnet bucks)

/mind blown

seriously? so that 30 mil i had last week could've been $63.75 after blizzard's cut???? lol

yah, I put up another batch just now, didn't take and it's been 10 mins, will see how that goes. I was early in getting back in when maintenance finished early, I imagine it will take longer to move gold once everyone and their mothers put their gold up.

How long did it take you to make 10m? Is there anything in the game to hold off chinese gold farmers?

I haven't kept up with D3 in awhile, but you can sell in-game gold on the Real Money Auction House now?

Is it sold at a fixed price or can people bid on it?

Damn... Going to load my DH up with GF gear and run Act 3 Hell like crazy. I can get about 100k gold per hour in Act 3 hell versus 125k in Inferno with no gf gear, but the risk of dying is near non-existant in Act 3. But then I can occasionally sell some items from Inferno... what to do, what to do. If only I had a better weapon for my barb, then no thinking would even be needed.

Seems like you'll only make $0.20-$0.25 per 100k gold. So for an hour's work....doesn't seem all that worth it haha.

Of course if you're having fun in that hour, then any money made is just bonus!

wonder how that works, must be a first come first serve type of thing for the gold since you know there are very likely billions and billions of gold for sale.

I'm sure some of these gold farmers have just put a few billion on there each. And this is a much higher price than they are selling it outside of the game. I think the going rate was about 1.60 per million, this is 2.50 per million - the 15%.

i have a 1handed crossbow with 800dps with 400 LoH and some other stats, i think im selling that at 300k and is not selling and in my eyes its a PRETTY GOOD lvl 60 starting item

How can a 1H with LoH at about 800dps not sell? 300k would be an incredible bargain, and LoH is VERY HIGH in demand right now since "melee wizards" all want LoH gear.

Especially LoH gear with AP on crit is extremely, extremely rare, even 50M (yes, millions!) wouldn't give you a wand over 640 or so DPS with LoH and AP on crit.

Flexy, what are the stats on those things that you sell cheap? (below 1m) cause i cant sell shit...and i have some stuff like a couple not-good legendaries, or 900 dps 1handed and 2 handed weapon.

I don't know "exact" stats, but 1M items would be gear which is "decent" but would not legitimate a price like 10M or so...say a decent DPS weapon but not high-end with crit dmg PLUS socket...or a wand 700-750 ish but maybe not some stats in demand like AP on crit or something.

Or maybe a chest piece with 3 sockets but not maximum INT on it, it's always a gamble too whether someone buys. (Someone would buy who does not have 10M for a high-end chest...but would think that 1M for the chest is decent...something like that)

And items like 200k items would be the majority of items/drops...AS LONG as the stats are not absurd on it and the item is somewhat useable. Eg. for casters int/vit stuff..generic but useable stuff.

its so frustrating to see so many people with so much gold and drops... and im so fucking broke and with HALF A MILLION...

The most g you make from lucky drops in the AH which you might get even in Act 1/INF if you just run enough.

But you can also make some "decent" money just for gold runs etc, there are two i like:

Running Heart of Sin on HELL (!), ultra easy and usually nets 200k-250k each run...or even better Act 1/INF, from "Sword of the Stranger" all the way to butcher. With all items, vendoring etc. i think each run nets about 400k-500k..with the added bonus that you might get the occasional great drop you can sell for lots of M in the AH. So..what i am saying...500k is really VERY easy to make.

Edit: And yes agree that farming Act 3 (let alone 4) Inferno and probably even Act 2 OVERALL is not worth it since Act1 is much, much quicker/easier..which outweighs the benefit of potential better drops in Act3++. (Or, alternatively, my character just plain sucks...at least i am not at a stage yet where i could just "farm" Act 3)

no typo... 100...

its nothing, but i thought i should show that... that i only do damage... im able to take a few hits from normal enemies in act1... in act2 some enemies can insta kill with 1 shot..in act3 the fallen ones (meaning the lowest enemy of them all) install kill me...

but thats they way its supposed to be right?

not at all. Any character should be in the several hundreds for res's. You're actually lower than I was halfway through nightmare.

I usually only make 250K on my butcher runs doing them the same way...and I've got a jacked up gold find..

I just bought 10 million from some chinese dude for $16

Screw farming 😛

I might be contributing to the problem but at least I have cash 😀

BTW, its fixed price @ $0.29 per 100k

$29.00 for 10mill so I got a good discount

More or less validation of my greatest fear. People want to be lazy by nature. And since it's a game, people want to have fun. However the game makes farming a chore (for a lot of players) and so it is easier to to buy gold (or items) from the RMAH. It's a slippery slope and Blizzard has sufficiently greased that slope just for that purpose.

It's the same argument for re-charging ink cartridges for your printer. You CAN do it and it is actually pretty easy to do (and cheaper than a new one). But most people don't want to be bothered, so they pay the premium to get the new one. Money in the manufacturer's pocket.

Ya, I thought about that after I posted... Sweatshop wages. But it's fun?
