so... i started a new char... what are the current exploits to power level in 1.03? 😛

i saw a video of a guy going to lvl 30 in 15 minutes killing zullen kollen (or something like that) but it doesnt work anymore... i got from lvl 8 to 14 in 20 minutes doing that though but it was not worth it after lvl 14-15...

any other spot? 😛

Not really. They removed all exp gain from quests doing them more than once. (Per difficulty)

So it is pretty much at this point, kill, kill, kill, wear plenty of +xp armor and get a helm with gem slot and put biggest xp% gain from monster kills in it.

btw... do you get less exp if you play with a lvl 60 friendo killing everything?

I wouldn't be surprised if xp earning was based on the level average of the group. (Much like Magic and Gold Find)

So a 15 and 60 play together. 75/2 = 37.5. And since I noticed the game gives less xp the higher level you are to "current area" It probably would slow down xp a lot unless it is end of Hell/start of inferno.

WOot... Just sold my first item on RMAH (welcome to 2 weeks ago) for $4 - they took $1.45 in "fees".

Finally got my DH to Act 1 Inferno. She can kill fairly well, but I have to be so much more careful than with my barb. Resists on DH are reasonable at ~400, but my low armor is a very sore point. I'll try to farm for a while and get at least one character up to Act 2 inferno.

Also, found a 600 dps rare axe yesterday with +500hp per hit. Hope that sells on RMAH.

If a player is a certain number of levels higher than you, I think it is 5, everyone gains like 15% less XP. This is PER character higher than you. The XP gem counters 1, maybe 2 if you have a high end one.


Also for a DH is LoH worse than Life Steal? I had a 1k DPS Xbow with 3% Life Steal and like 205 LoH but I still couldn't handle reflect damage on multiple targets.

Sell the sword on the RMAH..Take proceeds...invest in uber l33t gear...because someone will pay alot of money for it likely.

I have considered placing the sword on the RMAH for $250 just to see if it sells, anything less than that I don't think I could part with it. Maybe I try that with Blizzard balance and use that "money" to buy a pimp SS.

I had to gimp my barb to increase survivability and only have 11k dps, crits at ~30k. Works well in solo.


So I just found out that "rubberbanding" is a lag/bug and not a skill that Elites have. I feel smart.

rubberbanding isn't a bug, just how client / server interaction for movement works. I remember using it in UO to go through fences and things I normally couldn't. It took skill to cast and cancel a spell at exactly the right time.

It is sad how low melee classes can have their dps and make it so far while I have to have insane amounts to progress. =)

Thats what I would do.

I mean. I sold a ring for 50 bucks and I've been finding steals for 5 bucks. And to me it's not "real money" since its proceeds from my ring.

Play with the sword and then when your going to be away from the game for a few days just list it and see what happens.

Couldn't even down him with 17k before he got enraged. Had to kill the NV stack and switch to offensive set of skills to do it: overawe, blind + 30% dmg rune, direct reach with 170% weapon dmg on 3rd strike, etc.

I kill fairly well actually. Act bosses take a while, but otherwise all the elites fall quick and effortlessly.

I have a higher dps weapon i can switch out to 930+ dps with dex and other mods, but it doesn't have LOH so I can't give up my 60X dps weap with about 900loh 🙁

11k is a far cry from 8.5k! I started inferno with 10k or so, and killing was never my problem. Staying alive always is.

With my barb, I just change my passives to adjust my survivability vrs dps. Depending on the skills I take, I can have anywhere from 12k dps/10k armor to 24k dps/5k armor. This is with a 660dps weapon with 175str and 550LOH. Resists are always the same with shout up. That skill is most certainly a required skill for barbs.

Drop rates 'buffed' via hotfix today. Kind of surprised by that really, though I guess in the long term it's really not that great of an impact considering an item's value (generally) comes more from it's mods than the item level itself.

The drop rates for high-end items (items level 61-63) have been increased for Acts III and IV of Hell difficulty and Acts I – IV of Inferno difficulty:
The new approximate drop rates are as follows:
Hell – Act III and Act IV
iLvl 61: 9% to 13.9%
iLvl 62: 1.9% to 3.45%
iLvl 63: 0% (no change)
Inferno – Act I
iLvl 61: 17.7% to 23.9%
iLvl 62: 7.9% to 12.6%
iLvl 63: 2.0% to 4.8%
Inferno – Act II
iLvl 61: 18.6% to 23.3%
iLvl 62: 12.4% to 18.6%
iLvl 63: 4.1% to 9.3%
Inferno – Act III and Act IV

Bosses
Bosses are now guaranteed to drop at least 1 Rare item for players with 4 stacks of Nephalem Valor and at least 2 Rare items for players with 5 stacks of Nephalem Valor

Fixed a bug with several items that would allow those items to block pathing when dropped on the ground
Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when a player was interacting with environment objects (e.g. opening chests or clicking on a lectern)
Fixed several additional game and service crashes

I use:

LMB Frenzy with +damage
RMB Furious Charge with +life
1 WC with resist boost
2 Revenge with +chance to proc
3 Leap with Armor bonus
4 WotB

Passives +25% damage with sword, +armor and thorns , superstition


This is my survival build in inferno as a 2handed barb. I pretty much jump in, spam revenge, FC if I get in trouble and pop WotB to kill elites. I've removed leap for a damage skill like HoA or SS, but casting those more than once breaks your stacks of frenzy so I tend to roll at max fury all the time. In act1 I swap in the crit and crit damage passive and the full fury damage buff and I WTF faceroll everything. I've seen my DPS over 70k, but it is hard to look at since frenzy only lasts 5 secs and fury degens when not in combat. My Barb is sick as hell, until he gets 3 hit in Act3

I get probably on the order of 20-35 rares (call it whenever I play) and typically speaking I might get 1 worth Auctioning..

It's all about the min maxers.

Great stats on a ring..but 6% attack speed might throw someone off from a 9% ring.

On a side note going to try to flip a amulet I found on RMAH lets see what happens.

+50 Lightning Resist
+19% Gold? (I think..can't remember..at work..it was some higher rolled random throw away stat...not anything too good)

5 dollars on the RMAH...should go for 10 times that easy.

I decided to sell my Legendary that I found last night, and I listed it for what I thought was even more than it was worth (purely stat-wise), and it sold rather quickly. I looked at what other people were listing the same item (name-wise, not stat-wise) for and I can see why... people are charging out the ass for that thing. What makes it amusing is that it's not really that good... I've always found mighty belts for ~5k gold that are just about as good, and when leveling, you won't notice the difference. It's not like you're getting gear to beat down the wall that is Inferno. 😛

awwww. my Monk finally died in Act 3 Nightmare at the end of the area after the Gluttany guy. Fast Arcane mob got the best of me and i couldnt get out of the way of those 3 spinning energy things dropped right next to me in time.

I finally died on my Barbarian last night. My largest problem comes when a champion pack swarms all around me, because Cleave cannot hit them all. As long as I can hit all of them, my life stealing is enough to keep me alive... even through desecration, plague, molten, or whatever.

The laser dropping elites are definitely a bitch, fire-chains are right after. You get wallers with any of those combos and it's really painful.

I've been having some trouble with wallers lately. They'll literally wall me into this spot that's so tight that I cannot move at all. It seems that when this happens, I cannot even hit them. Normally I can attack through the walls, but not then. Unfortunately, they can still hit me. 🙁

I have a good farming route through act 1, I think i'm gonna continue doing the same route with the buffed drop percentages. However act 3 becomes more tempting. I'll let the math nerds run the numbers though...someone ran them before these buffs and it was generally accepted that act 1 provided the best bang for your buck given how quickly it can be farmed.

Lots of Room to kite around and duck and dodge lasers. Mobs really aren't that difficult.

I hate Act III because of the runners and narrow walk ways..but after the increase in % (And me buffing my toon) I'm going to try to find a good farm point.
