just got an interesting item. chest with tons of +hp potential
62 str
118 dex
190 vit
27 poison resist
+11% life (the highest it can roll, according my auction search)
2 sockets

thinking of putting it up for some real money. anyone think thats worth 50 bucks maybe?

Could be, maybe more. search for what else is out there. I doubt there is much, with sockets that's almost 200/200 dex/vit.

another interesting item...a very high +damage WD mojo with int and vit:
108-311 damage
73 dex
98 int
83 vit
11 mana regen per second.

looks like it could be worth 50 bucks too from some searches. i mean, who knows if that stuff is selling at those prices but thats what comparable items are listed at.

That is awesome for a tanking Monk. I would start it at 100 bid and 200 buyout. That is a lot of health and they can socket more dex in it.

Max dmg is 405, I would use it or sell it for what I could. Undercut everyone as it really is just ok. I bought mine for 250k for my WD, it has 386 dmg with 70+ Int.

I encountered my first "significant" bug so far.

I have found:

Kill a boss of invulnerable minions off screen and the minions that aren't close will live and they are still invulnerable.

When I SS and vault out of molten on the ground I can hit 0 health and nothing increases my life (potions, leech from NT, healing from my templar). I have to take an item off with +vit, stick it in my inventory and then reequip it.

I resurrected on a WP and I wasn't there, could not move at all. Had to log out.

Maybe something else, but can't think of it.

Anyone have any decent/good crossbow for sale or to borrow? I just want a decent one with some ias and a socket or something in the 200-300k category. 😛

Just buy one of the socketed ones around 900-950 dps (2h xbow) for 100k off the AH. That's what I'm using and it's good enough for Act III with kiting and +MS. I sold all my other bows and xbows on the RMAH 🙂

Does anyone know how to convert dex to dps? If you had 1.4spd fist that's 700dps vs 600dps with a certain amount of dex... how do you determine which is better? I don't have the tooltip since I'm comparing in the AH.

(1H/OH or 2H damage average) * (base weapon attack speed * weapon IAS) * (1 + gear IAS / 100) * ((1 + crit % / 100) * (crit damage / 100)) * (char DPS stat / 100 + 1) * any passive damage increase

I think Blizzard will eventually add the damage, HP, damage mitigation comparison to AH in a future patch

I have a spreadsheet for DH damage if you want it. I forget where I got it from but its pretty nice to have. I think Adrenaline linked me to it the other day.

Unfortunately theres only 2 real markets for this item: Barbs and Monks. Most Wizards, Witch Doctors, and DH's are not that interested in Vit or %life, because the most effective build for them at the moment is glass cannon.

Barb's and DH's, while both will highly value lots of Vit and %life, the generally are not willing to sacrifice 70-80 all resist for those stats. You might be able to sell it as a solid intermediary item, but I don't think you are going to get anywhere near $50.

I still can't decide on which character to play. I know have a 53 DH in Hell. She's annoyingly squishy though. I had one helluva time taking out a vortexing, immune minions, and something else, maybe reflects damage, elite spiderling group in those one caverns that lead up to the giant Arachnid (caverns of something or other). I died 5 or 6+ times on that, but finally pieced together the right passives and skills and killed the spider. Every time I came back after a death the leader/boss would be back to full life.

Anyway: 53 DH - not enough ways to heal self, and discipline goes away too quickly to reliably escape enemies, especially in tight quarters.

~49 Barb - lots of fun, and doing ok in late nightmare. Just wondering if I should stick with it only to be pulling my hair out in Inferno

~39 WD and Wiz - I hate that the WD's minions are gonna suck in Hell or definitely in Inferno at least. The wiz is kinda boring = disintegrate everything... over and over and over...

~34 monk. This is the one class I feel like is probably best suited for survivability, and can do so so dps too. Not that much fun, but who knows.

The barb is actually my favorite character I think at this point. The DH is cool too, but just too squishy. I hate being so indecisive, because when I finally get to Inferno with one of them, it'll probably be patch 1.4 or something.

My opinions on the classes (keep in mind I have only got to A2 Inferno on Barb/Wiz and not played the other classes except a HC Monk up to about level 28):

DH - pure squishiness but also the best kiting and damage avoidance in the game between that ghost move and vault. Also the highest DPS class currently.

Wizard - much like the DH, but you have a lot more base survivability, Blizzard is amazing for kiting, but much less dps potential than a DH.

Monk - can be built incredibly tanky but probably has the lowest DPS potential in the game. Heals add a lot of survivability, but from what I hear the heals don't scale well into Hell/Inferno. With Dex doubling as your primary dps stat and a great damage avoidance (dodge chance), its a great combo, but thats about all they have going for them.

Witch Doctor - cannot comment much on these guys, I haven't played one, and I don't regularly play with people who do. I know they have incredibly high DPS potential if built right, but I'm guessing they are somewhere between the DH and Wizard in squishiness. I hear pets become a lot less viable in Hell and Inferno, but thats just what I've evidenced from my limited play time with them in late game.

Barbarian - currently my favorite class. Normal though Inferno A1 is pure easy mode, but you hit a huge brick wall in Inferno A2/A3. The plus side is that a properly geared (and by properly geared I mean 50-150 million worth of gear) will be an unstoppable killing machine that no other class can begin to compare with.

Barbs and monks all have problems in A2/3, without amazing great with all resist and vit/%life. With warcry impunity, I'm at 700 all resist, 40k hp, and 15k base dmg, i still can't do all of act2.

I lost hp to gain some dmg recently and it's still a bitch. Next patch is gonna fix this..hopefully.

Since were on the topic. Are there any really good beast barbs here? I am curious what weapon route you go. I was considering making one. Are they better with 2h, 1h + shield or dual-wield?

So I finally geared up well enough to make Act 1 Inferno a cake walk for the most part...

Second I get to Act 2, it's like I went from Hell to Inferno again. WTF is this shit?

I have the same stats as Paulenski above: 42k health, 690 to 750 resists for all, 850 for physical, but "low" damage of 12k because I had to sacrifice all stats/items to boost health, armour, and resists. I'm getting 2 to 3 hit killed, can't withstand ANY elemental damage, while I could take more than my fair share in A1. Absolute bullshit.

The worst part is I don't see what else I can do, except boost armor a bit. Otherwise, I need millions of gold for god knows what.

For Normal through Hell, you can do whatever you want really. Most people need to switch to 1h/shield in Inferno A1/A2 until you can manage to get some really nice gear.

My Barb just finished steamrolling through A2. 30k hp, 25kdps, 1200 life on hit, 2.03 attacks per second, 700-800 all resists, 35% block, 8k+ armor.

Alright.

Could I see your gear sometime? It might help me get a mindset of what to aim for.

rule of thumb, 1 dex = 1 dps, but the higher the base dps the more it scales...

People. I just sold a pair of boots a grade above rare. Nothing special for 6$. I made 4.25$ *real money*. HOLY F! How long can this making money off a game go on for...... Its gotta come to a point where either the market totally saturates or everyone hits max level or something. I'm glad some people have more money than time.

so with the IAS nerf coming for 1.0.3
what should i be looking for in armor for the DH?

dex + crit + ias still?

vital+resist is useless for inferno so i won't bother with that and just go glass cannon
