i saw a thread somewhere and they were saying people aren't actually getting hacked. Blizzard is doing it to get people to download their authenticator trojan program or buy their authenticator. They're using the money and their botnet of infected machines to hack the planet. It's possible the botnet was used in the iranian cyberattack.

I can't wait until all the complainers and whiners finally quit the game like they say they are going to so we can actually have a discussion thread.

that would be nice. too bad it will never happen 🙁 . they will still complain even after they stop playing. Well thats the internet for. Makes no sense

Btw, there is an android mobile emulator which you can use in windows which simulates an android phone. Its really an sdk for app development. Anyways, you can use the free mobile authenticator app with it and add that to your account. If you dont want to buy the damn real one or dont have a smart phone. That is what I did.

I thought about taking a break from it after attempting Belial Inferno for about 3 hours and not getting far on my WD.

I listed my main complaints, the game is fun, but they incorporated to much WoW into a Diablo game IMO.

My Diablo 3 Gripes and Wants Wishlist:

-Strafing/Directional Movement-I want to be able to run and electrocute at the same time, preferably in the backward direction.

-Better textures - the textures are just plain bad. This game looks like it is from 2000.

-Character customization - maybe I want my wizard to have yellow hair or not like a kdrama star?

-Better Auction House Filters - where is the +DMG?

-Skill Activation - I want to be able to trip a skill while I'm channeling a primary. I shouldn't need to unclick my mouse button to press 1 or 2.

-More Skill slots, I'm fine with having 6 active at a time, but you might run into a fight where you need to swap out skills. Have a cool down that's fine, but make the swapping less cumbersome, so I can do it while mobs are swarming me without bringing up a menu that takes up half the screen.

-Make legendary weapons...legendary. I've had a few drops so far, but they have gone for cheaper than most blues I get.

-Fix the lag - it's a single player game, good lord why is there lag? I thought you just needed to auth to the server and then everything was local. Why do I lag for 5-10 seconds and why does it happen when there are 10 elite mobs surrounding me.

-I shouldn't need to leave the game to access the auction house.

Considering this is a reskinning of WoW. I'm surprised they are having so many issues. Servers should be rock solid, auction house should work just like it did there or better. WoW even had better graphics. I would have preferred they wait another month or two and release a polished game, because this in my opinion is beta quality. I'm concerned with the replay, since it is essentially just a gear grind after you beat it once. Which isn't the most appealing thing to be honest.

I agree with most of this, except:

The graphics i think are rather good, in particular at later levels.

As for "beta"...i dont think so, the game ITSELF is polished, its the usual blizzard server issues stuff going on which we know for years already. Any wow player knows how each patch/update *USUALLY* introduces other problems... authentication etc..etc..

I totally agree with better AH filters and especially the +dmg criteria, character customization would be nice as well.

Lag i haven't experienced here at all (aside from millisecond delays for casting a spell)..but wife has some "lag" issues on her laptop and sometimes complains about the game "freezing" for seconds or so..but i haven't seen this on my PC yet. It might be graphics or memory issue of the game, just guessing.

wow this is cool; day off from a lot of other obligations...figure I'll play an hour of diablo and have a nice time....oh cool, error 33. Fabulous

is there any way I can be notified when it is back up? don't want to sit here trying to log in over and over or mashing f5 on the status page

For me, I don't think the graphics are half bad. In fact, I think they are quite solid for today's games. maybe not revolutionary, but certainly better than 2000. I would suggest that you fire up D2 and compare. Considering it came out ~2000, you will ABSOLUTELY see much improvement.

About character customization, "For me" this was never the intent of this type of game. I don't fault them at all for not having sixteen ZILLION face/hair/body models for characters. I would much rather them have spent their time as they did, on game play.

I haven't gotten to legendary weapons yet, so I know only what I have read. And I would 'hope' that they were sets like in the previous games.

I haven't used the auction house yet either, so no comment there.

As for LAG, I am sure that Blizzard would say it isn't intended to be a single player game. And it was a well known fact that it was Always online, even the single player game. More's the pity. While I agree that there shouldn't be LAG in single player, that isn't the game we got. And isn't going to change.

I took a quick look at the legendary item page(helms) and some of them are pretty nice. Add the fact that they also have additional random properties that spawn, they could be pretty awesome I think. The good ones are crazy expensive though, as they should be

The legends are suppose to be "cool" and not necessarily the "best".. Therefore, there are some sick legendary items, while the others are only average or so. They don't mean to be the best.

Griping about the graphics now? The graphics are great. From 2000? Look at Diablo 2 if you want to see 2000 graphics, and see how they compare. Can also check out Nintendo Wii if you want to see 2000 graphics 😛 (nah I love Nintendo, just kinda lame they're still using basically the same graphics as Gamecube)

Can't log in either 🙁 - That's something worth griping about.
