I love the Demon Hunter. Chain down groups of enemies and then just spray death on them from afar with some great escape abilities in Invisibility and Vault. Also played Wizard and he wasn't too bad. I think next up is the Monk.

It's really hard to grind to the level cap of 13 once you hit 11. I think I've run Skeleton King 4 times now on my Demon Hunter and I'm only halfway through 12.

Btw, I didn't think this battle.net authentication thingy as big deal, but I can see now how it would be a giant pain if all you want to do is hang back and relax playing some single player game but couldn't because it's right at the moment where the 'server is down'.

I predict that they won't have enough server resources available at launch (or they'll go down, or something) and there will be massive internet rage. It is pretty mind boggling that they don't have something as simple a login queue.

I just spent 5 minutes spamming the login prompt and never got through. I have better things to do.

I think that might be the point. I'm guessing they want us to spam the log-in prompt. This isn't a play-test beta. It's a server stress-test beta.

Then they aren't very bright. Anyone could have written them a script or simple utility to spam the servers with login requests. All they're doing now is pissing off potential customers.

To a certain degree, sure. Is it my fault I got there after everyone else and now the business is full with other people testing it?

Either way, if this resolves release issues, it is worth it.

Well the experience I was posting about was withing the first 10 minutes of the beta officially opening.

Tried again this morning and got to play, only tried a Wizard so far but did finish the beta with him. He really kicked ass once I got a nice dps staff and realized how much that added to my spells, but then I noticed you can equip a sword and it'll do the same... pretty dumb IMO. That said, it was enjoyable enough especially once I figured out the "elective skills" option so I could assign my own hotkeys and got closer to lvl 10 so I had some more skills to pick from. I have 0% interest in the AH, pvp, or public games for that matter. Wouldn't/won't pay $60 for it though, especially with the summer coming. I might bite if I can get for $50 when next winter sets in.

True enough. There is probably more to it than just that though. They are probably testing each varying condition with each possible server load, slowly allowing more in as they go along.

I can't say that I know what I'm talking about but I promise you my logic is sound. 😛

are you playing a full game? I was playing multiplayer for the first time today and I was leveling pretty quickly but I wasn't that high yet.

It's just simply broken on their end... don't even bother putting in a real username/pass, do something like 'j@x' and random keys for the pass... you will get the exact same error messages randomly.

So it isn't like they are testing how many connections coming in; never gets to the connection point.

How does it run for everyone? I have a newly built 2700k with a 7970 vid card and the game runs like crap. Lots of stuttering where things will just freeze for a full second or two. Shouldnt be happening on a high end PC. Changing from everything on HIGH to everything on LOW didnt make a difference

The first area runs bad then it smooths out the further in I play.

How fragmented is your hard drive? The stutter that you are speaking of is caused by loading, not by the lack or CPU or GPU.

Server lag...

This was in full screen.

I dont have the latest drivers ... ? Lol I think I have XX.4 or whatever the first previous versions are for Catalyst. Sorry man not sure.

I also have 12gb mem but i doubt that's why. It also runs on my 6gb mem laptop with no stuttering. Also on previous Catalyst drivers.

That is what I see also.

Its a brand new SSD, built this PC about 1 month ago or so. I read a bit on the blizzard forums, seems like its a known issue when assets are being loaded.

I only liked the Monk character this time around.

I don't like the ranged classes and the Barbarian is so damn slow.

I didn't have any problems except the occasional lag.

I5 2600k (or maybe 2500k, don't remember any more)
GTX 580
8 GB RAM

I was tempted to cancel my preorder last night but decided to give it one more chance today. I played as the Demon Hunter and enjoyed it bit more. Enough that I think I will keep the preorder with Newegg.

Yesterday I played on my i5-2500, 12gb ram, HD 5670 machine at 1920x1080. Today I tested it on my E5800 3.2ghz, 4gb ram, HD 5450 media server. I was quite pleased with the performance on HD 5450. It wasn't bad at all and I was able to play at 1440x900 no problem on mixed settings. Both computers were able to play the game fine. Sure it's not at the highest setting but at least I won't have to buy new power supply and video cards to play this game.

After trying the barb I went through with the demon hunter which I want a big fan of. The wizard on the other hand was very fun. But at such a early point in the game it's hard to tell. I'm a bit worried about the skill and stat (lack of) selection but we'll see. Everything has to be dumbed down these days...

I was playing early this morning and the game went smoothly for me for about an hour or so... then I got booted because I guess alot of other people logged onto the server...

No stuttering or anything... rig in my sig...

So far so good for me. I've only played the Barb. I have found a few times the 3D clocks don't seem to kick in, in windowed mode unless I click off and on the game. This seems to happen for a couple of games I play so it seems to be a GTX680 issue not a game issue.
