Ugh, looks like they are going even further to increase difficulty of season rewards for the next go round.

Seems like they're going through a lot of artificial work to validate this season concept. Why not just add limitied time available FOS achievemnts to the main game and forego all this other wasted effort.

Seasons have been a thing since D2. It's not a concept that needs validating.

You also don't have to play them, and most of the clan doesn't anymore.

I'm personally looking forward to the new season, but I'm a sucker for the little extras they give you for participating. Probably just stick with barb or DH though, to make progression nice and easy.

I skipped the current season, but I could see making a new character for the upcoming one, maybe a DH (since I bagged my old one). And as you said, if the season isn't for someone, they are always free to play non-season. I'm sure I'll alternate between my non-season and a season character.

If d3 seasons mimicked d2 ladders, no one would care. Instead they've done that stupid WoW gimic of mandating participation in the d3 version by including exclusive limited duration content into it.

There were ladder exclusive items and runewords in D2 as well.

Also I hear there's rumblings of the next expansion announcement sometime soon.

I think the rumor is that D3 may see an announcement at Gamescom early next month because it's pretty much the only game without something on the docket... along with WoW. I'd actually consider both to be strong contenders. I saw someone make a case that WoW expansions are normally announced at BlizzCon, which is true, but the problem is that rumors are that Patch 5.2 is the last major patch for Warlords of Draenor. Blizzcon isn't until November, which leaves four months of nothing until just announcing the next bit of content. I think Blizzard doesn't want to repeat the incredibly long lull after their last patch during Mists of Pandaria.

Diablo III's expansion (if there is one) announcement could probably wait until BlizzCon and be fine. ...or heck, they could just go for broke and announce content for both. 😉

I don't know for sure as I never did d2 ladders, but what I read was that the items went into general supply at the end of the ladder same as d3 season items.

When a ladder ends it rolls over into non-ladder but I think to this day there are runewords that can only be created on Ladder and uniques only available on Ladder.

Point being it's all the same thing though, be it seasonal/ladder loot or transmogs or events or whatever. It's just contrived to try to make people want to start over and do same thing they've already done a thousand times another thousand times. Some folks eat it up, I'm happy to just wait it out if/when I play.

Trying to get into the PTR and the queue is ridiculous. Looking forward to 2.3 though, will play again a bit I'm sure.

For about a week or so it was really easy to get into the PTR, less than a minute wait at most. Then they put the community buff back on for 2000% legendary drop rate, and suddenly the queue is hours again 🙄

Joined the taking a break crew till patch. Probably use my barb mainly in regular and finally get a max level DH by seasonal.

Saw some talk of barb set changes, hope its nothing that screws up the current WW+ancients build.

Yeah I'll wait till the buff is gone and maybe play some more. Handled Torment 10 just fine right off the bat though without even having my three cube buffs.

No, TX is equivelent to live's 45.

I had heard 46, but meh.

People doing TX in PTR should easily be doing PTR grift 50+ now.

That's in the PTR. So, in live it's around 40ish? That doesn't seem bad. Can still faceroll TX Rifts.

Also, S3 ends 8/23. S4 starts 8/28.

I suppose that the patch will go live on the 25th then, after S3 ends, would that be a fair guess? (or have they actually announced the live date by now?) I do hope it'll go live this month though (probably not next week unfortunately).
