When going for set drops, I'd hold onto the piece and wait for something else in the set to drop. It's possible that the set bonus might offset the poorer stats.

Unless it's really bad.

Why is it there are tons of people playing this game but when i try to join a game i usually do not find anyone? Is it because of my char level only being 66? The game settings page usually does not list more than a couple people. Seems to be true for both regular and seasonal characters.

Seasons has really fragmented the playerbase and then take into account, most players are max level. If you want to party, your best best would be to start a game and then make it public. Or, join a community such as Power Leveling and get your level to 70. The amount of players available to play with really jumps once you hit 70.

My experience on my first character was that 62 - 70 took forever. Power leveling is the way to go. Have you joined the AT clan? If not, Join up and a lot of the guys will take time and help you out.

Yeah, I've got a few characters under 60 still, and if I see a fellow AT-er leveling up, I'll join them to help them and myself out.

Is there a better way to farm gems other than running rifts/grifts? I get about 10~ per run which isn't too bad, but I'm wondering if there's some magical gem wonderland that I'm missing out on.

Need a ton of rubies to gear out my barb.

Any time I started a new char, it was hard to find anyone to join up with in pub games. It's just how it is until you hit 70 w/ that char.

I experienced that with 2 of my chars. All the other 70 chars I power leveled via Rift it Forwards (which no longer works).

With them having added the new bounties and adventure section. You can do bounties and rifts to level to 70 really quickly. about 16-20 hours play time. I've levelled both a crusader and a demon hunter on seasons in under 4 days played. Played 8 hour days on the weekend and then 2 4-5 hour days during the week. Got 2 level 70 season players.

Did the same with my first crusader on non-seasons. As long as you have RoS, it's easy. It's even faster on the power leveling communities.

The plvl community on season is sketchy. With the new gold gem, players don't have a gold incentive to run 70 bounties quick. Plenty still help because they like to but guild member is the way to go.

The real problem is 90% of the community wants to be powerleveled with no expectation of having to return the favor. Seriously, it is like 100 level 2-4s for every 10 70s.

I was wondering do level 60 legendary / set items that can be crafted scale up based on character level that is doing the crafting or are they just locked into always being level 60 items?

There are a few ways to get gems faster than usual drop rates:

-Absolute best way is goblin portal. That place is simply LOADED with Marquis and Imperial gems. Even just finding goblins, without dropping the portal, still usually gives a few gems.
-Next up are the 2 level dungeons. Every single dungeon that has a Floor 1 and Floor 2 has a resplendent chest in the second level that typically disgorges a number of Marquis and/or Imperial gems (depending on difficulty setting).
-Finally, in Westmarch Act 5 there is the Undercity or City of Bones or something like that, which is full of rats & ghosts. On the second floor there is always a cursed chest, if you can beat the 100 enemies before timer runs out you get two Radiant chests, which are each lesser than a Resplendent but combined usually drop several gems. There may be other dungeons that have an "always there" challenge like this, I don't recall right now.

Too bad you can't give them away. I have about a million sitting in my inventory.

I will look to join the AT clan, will i find it by searching Anandtech? I just tried to search google for an anandtech clan for diablo but too many forum posts in my search results.

Erm, you missed my point. 3-4 months ago, the return was that the low lvl toon did the work to find the Hell Rifts, and then found 2 leechers to max difficulty so that the runner would get quick gold. 420k for a few minutes work.

Now on hardcore, the community is much better and helpful.

The problem with this game for me is simply that things progress faster in a team, but the spirit of mooching dominates. I gave a perfect roll hex pants to someone in my group - didn't have a use for it - when I'm in a good group I don't mind as I just want to perfect my wizard.

But I spend most of my time jumping from group to group as there are always undergeared people trying to mooch at higher torment levels, and it becomes stupid wasting shards or rift keys in these situations.

I've pretty much given up now, but if any eu players are active I'd be very happy to group with you

This.

So, I finally got into grifts, seems to be a better legendary drop rate than in normal rifts. My first two runs through netted me two legendaries and two gems each, for a total of about 40 minutes of play. Got a new pair of pants that give 82% boost to primary skills which boosted my Justice damage to the point it actually does something. Added two maxed rubies to the sockets and suddenly T1 isn't as hard as it was previously.

So far I have just been upgrading my grift key one step at a time and collecting as many legendaries as I can on the way up, haven't started using the gems yet. Which ones are the best ones to use? Is it better with relatively low gear to continue like I am or to start leveling the gem(s)?

One (of many) reasons why I usually just solo. Friends and clan members are exceptions. 🙂

lol i solo because i'm afraid of getting someone killed and them bitching me out..

yeah that's sad.

though good news is i almost have my monk level 70. god damn are they powerful
