I don't think we will get a good list until established builds come out. Like how CM Wiz had requirements and break points and such. Same with WW Barbs.

For now, I think you're best off going for crit chance, attack speed, crit damage (but only 10:1), main stat, vit / AR, then +elemental damage. On weapons, DPS, socket, LoH, main stat. That should give you the best baseline for every build. I believe the softcap for main stat is 7k, so after that, move it down in priority.

I completed nine T1 Rifts since they hotfixed the Rift legendary drop rates (supposedly anyway) and I found one legend and only got a single Forgotten Soul, but then again I'm generally very unlucky in similar games so I'm not surprised. Additionally, I still find more legends and set items from chests than I do from elite packs (and I'm not even chest-farming, they're merely chests I happen to open as I do bounties and Rifts).

It is still RNG and I would imagine you are opening more chests than elite packs. I got a legendary last night from a goblin, a normal mob, and a chest last night I believe.

I did four rifts last night with no legendary drop. Two of the rifts I did were chock-full of elite packs. I kept clearing after the guardian appeared too, still no drops. After that I had to go to bed, so I didn't get a chance to run more.

So, how are you guys going about getting equipment for hirelings? I'm a wizard who uses the Templar, and since all the drops are tailored to INT and the AH is gone, decent stuff for him is hard to come by.

I really just pick up stuff that is vit heavy. I use the Scoundrel though. I just give them as much survivability as possible and use them as an extra damage soaker.

Blackthorne's drops way too much. They need to cut that crappy set droprate in half and allow other set pieces be obtained.

Are rifts good to solo or should you get a group?

It really comes down to efficiency. On my DH, it is faster for me in a group, because I don't have to move around as much, and thus can do lots of DPS. If you're a melee class or just a really tanky ranged class, with a lot of DPS, solo would be nice. Realistically though, if your DPS is a bit lower, you're better off "leaching" in a group.

It's a lot more efficient for me too with a group. Steady Aim will always be up because someone else can tank and if there's a monk or a barbarian that can group everything, Area Damage on Cluster Arrows wrecks packs.

My goodness! My Crusader is a beast and a half! I normally use Shield Glare (+20% damage debuff rune) -> Falling Sword -> Condemn (instant cast rune), and I can usually kill a named enemy or a champion pack either instantly or a few seconds afterward. I've been pretty lucky to find legendary weapons about every 5 levels or so, which means I've always been able to keep my damage up to ridiculous levels.

I do realize that I have some rather odd skill choices given I've recently added items that modify unequipped skills. I only just changed Smite to the 30-yard rune, which means I can probably drop Shield Bash as I've mostly kept it equipped for closing the gap. Since two items boost Blessed Shield, I'll probably switch to that, and pretend that I'm Captain America for a while! :awe:

I find it much less efficient with a group. I face roll T1 with my wizard (with buffs up he's around 1.1M dps), but with a group of 4, it takes a while to kill stuff, and I'm usually playing with 3 x 200k dps players.

That said, I've played with a couple good AT people and had some of my best T1 runs.

I tend to run solo lately as I have encountered too many players who just run off and aggro lots of packs at once, gets tedious fighing a screen full of elites with next to no help in a 4 player game.

~700k dps on my Lazy Laser Wizard, still leveling my other classes but most are mid 60's.

I've been doing bounties solo for the same reason. In public games you get a lot of dead weight. The player with 5 paragon levels probably doesn't have the DPS to handle T1.

I haven't played D3 in over a year and a half. I put about 70 hours into it when it first came out and then got bored. Looking back, the loot drops were what killed it for me.

Bought RoS on a whim after reading all the good stuff about loot 2.0 and I'm loving it so far. The loot system is so much better than before, I'm actually getting drops appropriate for my level and appropriate for my class. The XP boost this weekend is great, too. I started with my level 34 WD and in just 6'ish hours of play through the new Act V on hard, I've already got him up to 48. I never once got a legendary drop in my original 70 hours of play but have already gotten 4 thus far. Only one I used but it was a staff that literally doubled my dps, and that was without the gem that took it up a few more hundred.

I'm almost done with Act V I believe.

Sweet! Glad you're having fun again! I'm in the same boat.

I randomly reinstalled last night not even knowing there was a new expansion. I admittedly never even finished D3, but at that time I had a lot of other things going on that were distracting. Going to try it again now. Is this new loot system just for the expansion? I would think not, but silly question?

The new loot system is in the base game as well, so you don't need the expansion to see what it's like.

just got a L70 mirror ball in a T1 rift. Can finally put my L61 into the bank. Probably need to up the torment level as 1 is getting to be a rather easy farm session unless I take on several elite packs.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this earlier, but I bought the digital version directly from Blizzard on April 3rd and still got the pre-order wings. No idea why.

Question - does the ROS affect any of the base level 1-60 game?

I am thinking of rolling a new char and testing out the changes they have made in the vanilla version. Would I be able to take a new char to level 60 without impact from ROS?

RoS only provides Act 5 and the Bounty and Adventuring mode. Otherwise I'm fairly certain nothing else, besides regular updates, is changed about vanilla.
