Looking to do a few last uber runs to pick up a STR hellfire. Wanna get a barb to 60, then keep all my gear to get ready for the new class.

I run mp7-8, although I can provide machines if you someone wants to run 10.

Hi all,

So I played D3 enthusiastically - only with a wizard - and made it, at release, to inferno act 2 where I was getting destroyed, even though I could farm act 1 quite easily. I quit that grind, and re-installed it yesterday. Since then they added paragon levels and a bunch of other things.

I checked the AH hoping to find upgraded gear cheap, but everything "good" that I could find was in the tens of millions and upwards, and I have only 500k gold. Any tips for quickly getting back into things? Should I get the 5 rare/elite pack bonus, and just farm act 1 again? This got quite old - I want to level the paragon levels as fast as possible, but to do so I need better gear, and for better gear I need money, which means I should go back to farming I guess. My wizard has quite low dps - a 1100 damage one hander, and I'm using the free lightning left click with right click on venom hydra - I use the ice shell to 'tank' and evade with mirror images and run around while the venom hydra stacks kill things.

Any wizards on this forum willing to give me a helping hand? I'm on EU servers.

I hate to suggest it - but have you tried farming some? The drop rates have improved and are supposed to be improved again when the expansion releases. At least that is the last I heard.

I made some quick money by buying under priced items and reselling them. Some items I could make as much as 100k gold, but I didn't have time to do it seriously.

The market is pretty much top-tiered and dying quickly with how close to the auction house being shut down is coming.

I'd focus more on just exp'ing and expect some drops along the way, but nothing super special unless you get really lucky. To get the best drops you need to be PL100 and play on MP10 with a full party to boost the levels of the dropped items. Otherwise you'll just get midgrade stuff which won't net you anything.

Exp runs are basically just A1, on MP6-10 in public games or with closed invite groups. It's luck of the draw for the people you join with in public games, but you can't expect too much at this point in time with all of the anticipation of changes to the expansion coming.

I still need a couple levels to hit 60, but knowing so many of the things I find annoying will be fixed in the expansion, I've pretty much stopped playing ever since the details were first put out.

Now if someone wanted to carry me, I wouldn't object. 😉

just loaded up wow and noticed that it's only a month till release and still only a limited closed beta..... 🙁

So I took the advice and farmed - I did 2 paragon levels reasonably quickly (1 per farming run almost), then posted in general chat asking for some tips. Some crazily geared out Barbarian carried me to a hellfire ring, and just those three uber bosses got me two more paragaon levels. The drops were good too - I got Lacuna Prowlers (the bracer), and some barbarian only set piece that looks awesome. In short, the drops seem way better to me than when I used to farm when I first hit level 60.

Hoping to hit paragon 100 before the expansion, and to up my gear a bit too.

I'm using electorcute/venom hydra as a wizard with 35k dps and around 27k hp. Could any wizards suggest a better build? I have to kite, use the illusions, and hope mobs land on the venom pools, but I have trouble with those mortar elites, because I continuously have to move to avoid getting hit and then the venom pooling doesn't work.

Since you don't have the gear for a CM wiz, you're better off looking for a Archon build. You could probably grab a high DPS Skorn and be fine DPS wise.

Archon & Meteor are 2 builds that are popular and not relying on "tricks". Out of interest are you on the EU or US servers? If you're EU I can help you out with some gear since I don't use either of my Wizards any more.

Yeah I am on the EU servers, this is my wizard (the bracers really were a dps upgrade over my old ones!)

I had tried archon before I gave up on inferno when Diablo III came out, and got slaughtered. I could give it another try. Having posted my profile there, it looks like I have far less resist all than I thought I did, so will have to work on that.

Seens some stuff about pre-order bonus items, any of these any good and do they apply regardless of where bought from?

I'll probably fire up the game soon to try out the new patch. I'm sure it'll be an improvement, but I wonder if it'll breathe life into the game again.
