I have a Demon Hunter and a Monk...The monk just seems so hard to get up to the point of the DH with a decent bow.

DH=Buy (Insert 2H Ranged DPS)=Win= A few hundred thousand..
Monk= Buy all resist+Resist your stacking+Dex+Vit=Millions

yes, the monk is pretty gimped late in the game. With the IAS nerf incoming, it just gets harder for melee.

Which I find to be funny...gems are one of the few things that guarantee a specific bonus; I would think they'd be more in demand.

its seems emeralds are the highest in demand, which stands to reason. But i guess since everyone keeps getting a large influx of gems, the supply is outpacing the demand. Which also makes sense since combining gems is so expensive.
Spent a lot of gold on gems last night in anticipation of the patch and nerf to crafting prices. :D

i bet if this patch makes crafting worthwhile, gem prices will go up a little bit.

now with the nerf to attack speed i guess ill be able to switch my LOW intelligence/AS items for HIGH intelligence ones

there was nothing to do against an increase in AS, at least in the Damage calc. An item with AS was almost always showing higher damage

It is wrong that you need to buy a authenticator to use the money AH if you got hacked. I can't rember if I used my email I probly did. But there should be a problem using my email for for the game the asked for. I got hacked by seeing a email for a Beta for the new expansion for WOW. after I clicked on it the next day I was hacked.

I didn't think much or was woried about the email, I have been a lot of beta games and played WOW for a very long time.

ROFL, you are surprised you got hacked after you clicked a phishing e-mail? Seriously? How about you stop clicking random shit on the internet and then blaming it on Blizzard. It's your stupidity, not theirs.

i know it makes sense... but i find it missleading when you are not spamming skills

there should be like a calculator of what is your damage with single attacks or something like that

It's a different play style when you hit Inferno with the monk. In norm - hell, monk was just hack and slash, in inferno it's all about spirit regeneration, life on hit and high res buff survival while doling out constant dps.

I couldn't get past any elites in A1 until I switched out some gear/skills~ increased resistance and got some LOH. Now it's still not a cakewalk, but I can handle a pack of elites fine.
It's still a lot easlier on the glass canon DH, but it's a pain in the ass since you're getting 1 shot.

Crafting has always been worthwhile, it's only the 6 property patterns that people bother to craft though. And it's a gamble, anyone who tries to craft just one or two items and get something out of it is probably going to be disappointed.

But there's a reason Exquisite Essences are 2000g each after all. (and rising last I checked)

Gem crafting will be largely unchanged except you'll see an influx of Flawless Squares in the short term. Prices for them will drop further because the top end gems still have such a high built in cost so I think it's unlikely that the 'bottleneck' is a lack of Flawless Squares; though emerald demand may be an exception.

Finally found a good rare weapon last night off Azmodan, 1220 DPS xbow with dex/vit/aspd. It's nice to know they really do drop lol.

yea I don't like the fact that you can't tell how much dmg your skills are doing.
For example, i want to see how much damage the spike traps do for the DH.

wow that's a nice xbow. if that had a socket and some crit it would be G_G
I've been trying to farm a better one for a while now. No luck :(

And I've been selling my Essences off auction for 2000-2200 per. Sold about 6 stacks yestday.

I think it's pretty much been verified that 'hacking' is actually your password hacked from another site being cross-referenced. They probably had thousands of email and password combinations in a list just waiting to run through a script and see which ones work. I'd bet there's a good chance you used the same password somewhere else.

Well, it happened to me and this is the only viable conclusion I could come up with. It was also said somewhere...

Also, you have to get an authenticator or they wont let you back on the auction. I had to get one after I was hacked as well. It's only $6.50. They actually don't charge you for it, you are paying shipping costs.

Oh, so it wasn't some shady backdoor spoof? But at least you admit it, maybe you won't be so stubborn next time.

Also sold an 890 DPS 1h spear with 190str/100vit for $30 last night, up to $110 so far.

Now if only your auction search would 'save' when switching between the RMAH and GAH.

Flexy I appreciate your reply. I thought I had a good weapon.. least they go for 500-1M @ auction house.

By far best I found and could afford. Anyway I will try and follow your advice but I need cash and lots of it. I screwed around with smithing and was that ever a waste. 2-3M down the drain for all Sh*t. I'm in act 2 (with my 2 sons) and we do better as a team but solo we get totally wrecked.

While this wand is "good", it's not sufficient for anything past I Inferno, IMO. At this point, you should look at dmg closer 400-800 ish. OH can also make a MAJOR difference, i had to spend 1.5M yesterday again to finally get a GOOD off-hand, not easy since the AH doesn't allow easy searching.

As a rule, a "high-end" OH would have stats such as 80ish - 300ish (or high 200, 270, 280ish dmg)....as a simple rule add min and max dmg numbers and it should come near or close to 400. Really not that many on the AH, most OHs have really crappy damage.

As to "dmg convert to life", i heard this is capped in Inferno, so i usually dont get any with "dmg converted to life", i actually like "life after kill", MOST IMPORTANLY since yesterday there was still the hydra exploit.

(Eg. resummoning hydra counts as "kill" which basically means each time you tap the key for summoning your hydra you get 3x the life back from the "life after kill" number. Ridiculous bug, it's like free HP and potions. Likely getting fixed with 1.03 since its so ridiculous :)

Edit: The difference from this wand to a 850ish DPS wand would likely be *significant*, for that reason you just cant get enough DPS on your main wep.

Where did they say it's patch day today? Every Tue is maintenance but doesn't necessarily mean a patch.

nvm, just went to the bliz forums to confirm

edit: just read the stickies... wow, even now they won't openly provide and confirm what the exact IAS nerfs are? It's not like we can do anything about it at this point. WTF?

You can turn on damage numbers that will show you the amount for each attack, it's in the gameplay options I believe.

Dunno why you would need something more than that...

If you're talking about the dmg / life #'s that pop up during gameplay. That's not what i'm looking for.

I want to know exactly how much dmg the skill does before setting it up.
Changing skills on the fly is a pain in the ass and you have to wait for a cool down.

Short update on my gameplay last night.
I have 3 main toons. A Barb (level 38) that I play with a set group of people. An enchantress (Level 17) that I cant delete as her banter is the best. I know, it has a finite set but I just giggle over her.
My level 48 DH... I was getting bored running around with the templar last night... I joined public games. Man, it was fantastic. Guys giving stuff. Me giving stuff. We are killing things. Sharing items.... the whole 9 yards. Does this game have an IN game voice chat?
That would have been nice. The "standing" group I play with, we sign onto my sons server and use Vent. SO handy. I have ALWAYS admitted I am old and running, shooting and trying to text type..... AINT happening for this old guy.
One game, I needed to chat with another DH I hooked up with. Great person. Friendly. I said right upfront, you lead, I follow. He was OK with that, then he gave me a fantastic bow.
I swear he never heard the term glass cannon. LISTEN. I aint good... BY ANY STRETCH. But I like to get vested in my toons... I HATE IT WHEN THEY DIE.
This person plays their DH like he was Rambo. They died 7 times to my none.
All I wanted to do is tell them "Look, I am trap and run DH. I got boots of speed, I tumble out, set a snare, drop a lightning trap spam rapid fire. I have a gem that adds 25 life with each hit.... I stick and move..... A lot. If they were a hold ground type DH (Not sure if there is one) we need a Barb or something in our group.
It was fine to play, I rezzed them twice (Once they died in the midst of a 3 yellow fight. He never came back for that fight LOL..And yes. I survived. And then they quit right as we got to the vault. I felt bad for them. Not even a "Damn, gotta run".

PS on the rapid fire shot.... Anyone ever test does each rapid fire hit add the 25? Including the missles? I cant tell/test.

Oh well, thats my story andquestion of the day. If there are any casual AT'ers out there. Send me a PM to connect. I dont get stupid serious, I'd rather have FUN and find legendaries........ Its a game....

Is barbarian the easiest character to play on hell? I've just about halfway through 1-act and it still seems quite easy. Sure I die sometimes, but it's not impossible to play. I've bought a life-draining sword ~250 dps/ 2% life drain +181 life on hit, and run around with frenzy.

Wrong.

DH gear can be very expensive if your looking for the best.

That means having 4 stat gloves, amulet, and rings which include dex, crit %, crit dmg, and attack speed.

No less than 10 million for any item, and guess what, you're still a glass cannon.

The "cheap" way you are refering to is probably just stacking attack speed and dex which will never push you over 40k dps (just through this number out there). And that is also going to fail when the attack speed nerf comes.

So you tell me which is easier, spending 80 million on a DH and getting 1 shotted by everything or on a monk and standing in the middle of mobs as you slowly destroy everything while taking no damage.

Maxed out, the Monk and Barb are the best classes.
