And this was a post from a reader on that previous link i posted...very interesting points.

(1) Blizzard are a lot of things but they aren't inconsistent. They have NEVER done a teaser for an expansion.
(2) Falling in line with the last point, no teaser was done for The Burning Crusade launch date or beta announcement.
(3) It completely defeats the purpose of a teaser if you are going to be obvious about it.
(4) Announcing Diablo 3 now would not hamper the sales figures of WotLK due to the fact that the game will be released much later down the line, probably not before Q1 2010.
(5) A Press Conference is being held right after the opening ceremony for the WWIs. The last time that happened was when they announced StarCraft 2.
(6) The last time a WWI and BlizzCon were held in the same year was after SC2 was announced. There is a BlizzCon organised for this year.
(7) BlizzCon 2008 will be much (50% I believe) bigger.
(8) The WWIs come with a parental escort recommendation due to content of an adult nature. Diablo is the only mature franchise Blizzard have worked on. WoW and SC2 are far from adult in nature.
(9) Several press organisations who are known for being "on the ball" have already hinted at/slipped up entirely about a game announcement at the WWIs.
(10) Multiple links have been made between the teaser and the Diablo franchise that are more than coincidence.

Funny you said that because in the 90's they made a super hero fighting game! They are also behind the best racing game ever... Rock and Roll racing!
 
Also, Blizzard recently purchased the Diablo3.com domain from a D3 fan site now called diablofans.com
 
It has to be D3 guys, c'mon, almost nine years since its release, would be about damn time to remove the dust off of that franchise. What I fear the most, however, is that D3 turns out to be an entirely 3-D game, which I wouldn't like, that'd make me think about Hellgate too much, and if that'd be the case I'd get depressed, no touching such a game with a million kilometers pole.
 
New splash is up, new rune around 7 o'clock, not sure which one it is.
Interesting... the third rune matches the symbol for the protoss:

If the first image was actually the first rune on frostmourne instead of shael like people initially thought, then this is like when they announced SC2 and did a splash related to each franchise through the years.

Haha, its NOTHING like that at all. Those were clear cut, this is clearly not clear cut. I think that Protoss comparison is a little bit of a stretch but I do see it. Maybe its some sort of mega-multi announcement? Official Release dates for SC2, WOTLK, and D3?

Even if it is entirely 3-D, the last thing you should do is even consider fearing a comparison to HGL. We all know that Blizzard's quality when it comes to one of their main franchises will be 5 star.

Waiting less than patiently for the schweet Diablo 3 announcement.

Or maybe they'll surprise us all with a Diablo style Starcraft game...

But hopefully not...

With this week's speculation over the Blizzard teasers, more and more reports in the media, and numerous tips coming direct us at IncGamers from reliable inside industry sources in the past 24 hours, we now have confirmation from inside sources to say that Diablo 3 WILL be announced on Saturday at WWI Paris 2008.

With that in mind, we would like to invite Diabloii.net readers to submit their questions for us to ask Blizzard.

This is extremely exciting for all of us here at Diabloii.net. For the past 10 years we have been supporting the Diablo community and to have something completely new to sink our teeth into is fantastic. We will be at the show on Saturday for the announcement and also the press conference which is directly after, so expect reports from the show floor live, interviews and much more.
