I WANT D3, but I would LOVE a brand spanking new game. That penguin (background image) says : harbinger which means "things to come".
 
Looks like the runes are celebrating all of the Blizzard franchises.

We have what appears to be either a Protoss or possibly Baal in the center. We have the blue crystally stuff from Starcraft. We have the rune formation of a pentagram. We have the hidden evil penguin (more on that in a moment). We have the "frozen" theme that would be Wrath of the Itch King...

I wouldn't at all be surprised if we'll see all of the franchises in 2008/2009 coming to life. We know WoW is getting an addon. We know that Starcraft 2 is coming out. Blizzard has been hinting at a Diablo coming - and would be stupid not to with all of the fan momentum. What's left? How about a Lost Vikings game? Evil cartoony penguin? Sure, sounds like a perfect bad guy for some Vikings to fight (even though the whole north pole/south pole, whatever).

The runes seem to hint at all of the franchises... so why not?

And I'm saying this "confirmation" is bunk because it's just a forum scripting issue on battlenet. You can change the number in the url to anything and it will say "Diablo # blah blah". Seriously, if Diablo 3 isn't out, why would there be a diablo 4 or 5 or 9 forum?

The announcement coming later is in fact for Diablo 3 through 10, Warcraft 4 through 6, and Starcraft: Ghost
 
I wish they would just go ahead with the announcement, been holding my tongue since December.
