I just want to beat my friends to 30 after starting a month after them. Hopefully I'll just get some boots tomorrow lol

haha...

RNG at work...kind of sucks sometimes. At least it's not like when I used to play FFXI and people got favored more than others and within a month had full end game gear sets where others were still waiting for their turn. I like this better, it's luck. You have as much chance as anyone else and you don't rely on someone else to let you take a drop.

I've played plenty of games with loot and I'm perfectly fine with the Destiny loot system. I do wish that you got some sort of rewards for running VoG more than once(twice) per character. I'll still help people with their weeklys but it'd be nice to get something even if it wasn't raid gear.

Looks like something broke either with the patch or servers today. Get 75% of the way through the daily heroic story and get booted.

Is it worth trying a raid at level 25? I've been stuck in the middle of 25 for about a few weeks. I can't get anything.

No you'll get murdered unless everyone else is willing to carry you around everywhere.

Also just do what I did, I went from 24 -> 27 in like three days by doing public events and get Vanguard Marks and buying them from the vendors.

Weee made it to 29 in under two weeks. Need to max out vision of confluence and praedeths revenge and then I think I'll try hard mode.

I wouldn't try vault at 25, even at 26 I got carried. I prefer 27+ in groups unless its a friend with a strong group.

Any tips before trying hard this weekend? I have one more normal run on my salt for practice before going.

That was happening all day to people, myself included. I was kicked 3 times from nightfall but I still ended up holding on long enough to kill the boss.

TallBill for hard you're gonna want maxed weapons. Max your VoC for sure if you can. Other than that it just takes a group that knows what to do and what to watch for.

The first expansion will release on December 9. It will include 5 more bounty slots, a light level increase to 32, a new raid and a new strike. PlayStation players will receive an additional exclusive strike.

While nice I am still not 30 yet and who knows if I will get my raid boots anytime soon. So increasing the cap to 32 means even more grinding. Although the article alludes to the new special story missions from a new tower npc will let you increase your light level. Maybe it doesn't require new gear.

That's a joke for $20... Just compare it to BL2 DLC - lots of new locations, new assets, new characters, new voice actors, big areas... It may seem a lot compared to the base Destiny game, but it shipped with very little content. So that's not really telling anything D:

Well unfortunately that's how it's all going to be, grind the same small amount of content over and over. I was hoping for more as well. At least a whole new planet to explore.

Destiny came out 3 quarters late. It was supposed to come out around the launch of the new consoles. I have a feeling they used that time to strip out and package existing content.

Just wanted to share this info.

edit: That info about the expansion is really disheartening. That's not much content AT ALL.

Basically, is a new raid worth $20?

Well, more like a few select locations that will be reused adnauseum. The term "exploration" is used way to liberally in regards to this game.

This might be too old for many to remember or know about, but if Destiny had similar planetary exploration on the order of Sentinel Worlds, Star Flight, or even Star Control, it could have been fantastic. Even a Mass Effect style exploration would have been useful. They don't have to open the whole world up for foot combat, but they could have expanded on the ship exploration aspect and really killed it. It's the space aspect that pulled me in, but they aren't even bothering to use it.

Yeah, I am bailing on this game now. Game is fun but for 20 dollar small expansion this is horrible. To my understanding there will not be any real story additions. I would expect this expansion to be free. I get the COD references is that you get 5 maps for 20 bucks but this game is not COD, it is an MMO that is supposed to have story. Heck the original game should have been an indie 30 dollar game for the content given.

This video is pretty good. Found it on IGN. First 20 minutes is legit then the last 10 get VERY preachy. I think it has a good explanation of why the RNG drops are so bad. Also has a decent explanation of what happened to the story and why it went to absolute scrap that a 10 year old wrote.

I haven't played in a week and a half, but I am going to get back at it this week. Just been super busy and not really playing anything. I've had time for maybe 3 or 4 Fifa matches at is.

I put 30minutes into BL2 and almost 170hours into destiny. So...I'll take it.

I still play every day even when I have plans to play something else I am on destiny for a bit. Guess I am addicted lol

Its two strikes, more story, more bounties, new daily and weekly stuff to rotate in, and a new raid area. This doesn't take into account the new gear and such.

Still like I said, I got a lot more out of destiny than most games these days. So I'm not all that upset.

I've still been waiting for them to add enough content from launch to be worth playing the game some more. It took a week after launch to see and do everything in the game and one more week to become bored with the complete lack of anything to do. Not one thing they have added save the Vault of Glass has really been anything new.

If you go by what most $60 games have then they don't have but $20 worth of content in this game. I'm definitely not paying for more content.

It's really not much more content at all. You could literally do all that in a few hours. It's still my main gripe with the game, the content is insanely small for how big of a scope they promised us.

Yeah good luck doing a brand new raid with no strategies in a few hours.

You are letting your personal dislike get in the way a little bit. "Literally a few hours" is false.

That's all true, but the raid is the only thing I look forward to. :'(

That's not stopping me from leveling 2 alts though. :awe:

Titan is my main guardian. I'm working on a lvl 23 (almost 24) sunbro, and a blade dancer. The warlock is my preferred alt thus far, but I'm also looking forward to unlocking the Voidwalker tree.

edit: ^^ agreed on the "literally a few hours" part. It took time for me to upgrade to the point where I could even get in the raid, and then learning how to do everything? I wasn't completely comfortable with every aspect of the raid until after 4 completions. I still don't know how to get through Gorgon's maze to get the chest and exit without dying. Learning to be the relic holder is an amazing thrill.
