I'm at 28 and I still have awful guns.. and xur never has the guns I want. At this point I'm just grinding for vanguard stuff so I can buy a fucking gun that doesn't suck. I have a good secondary but my primary is pretty lame.

Any tips on how to get an exotic pulse rifle, or at least a legendary that's worth upgrading? :\

buy a legendary from the vanguard armory, the scout and auto are pretty good. not really a fan of the pulse rifles


to get the exotic bounty's just keep turning in the daily bounty's and you will get one, ive gotten 3, 2 in the last week. Bad JuJu is a POS just FYI I would not bother with that bounty

you can also get ones from the raid and nightfall

I have a decent legendary scout rifle but I much prefer pulse rifles and honestly I take down dudes more with a blue pulse rifle than I do with a legendary scout even though it has much higher specs. I think the 3 fire burst makes all the difference. I am almost level 3 with VG so thats my current plan but it's fucking tedious and unfun.

I do bounties a lot but have never seen an exotic come through. :\
 
try turning in 5 bounties at one time. I swear, every time I turn in a lot of bounties in one go, I get offered another exotic bounty.

Vanguard factions or crucible.

Scout rifles and hand cannons might seem weaker at first because they fire slower but when you are fighting shielded enemies and their shield drops in 2-3 shots and then a headshot finishes them, it becomes apparent how powerful they can be

I tried turning in a bunch at once as well because it worked for my friend...I turned in 5 two times in a row and nothing then I turn in a single bounty after that and got it.

I don't remember what the other 2 bounties were as I knew I wanted Shattered Memory Fragment.

What level were you when you did the last Xyor mission?

I'm 27 Titan and on that part right now.

Even if you leave him chained he will be freed eventually. You do have to have him free to trigger the waves. You need 3 waves of hive tomb ships. You need to kill the knights and wizards to keep the waves coming. There is a safe room you can exploit a bit to get easy kills.
 
I haven't purchased the game yet. You guys think I should buy it now or wait for the first expansion?

IMO, start now while people are still doing low level content. I have noticed that it's getting hard to find strike groups for low level stuff.

I agree, I flew up in rank quick thanks to help from other peeps. Some stuff takes weeks to build up though, so the earlier you get in the better.
 
I rolled a 2nd toon mostly get to more chances at shards (I actually only needed 1 to hit 29). started out just as an extra chance at the pub events and such
for 3 days nothing but energy on both toons, no drops and I was capped on tokens\

got the 2nd dude to 20, tossed him some gear, did the daily - energy (FML) I actually think ive only gotten energy from this.
random blue engram turns into legendary after struggling through the summoning pits with morons who kept going up top and spawning more adds

Finally 29

I need to run the nightfall again today on 2nd toon cmdrd you down?

Yesterday, I took my alt titan from 11 to 22. I'm also using her for the daily shards/energy/coins/motes and weapon XP from bounties.
