I know nightfall this week is a PITA but I need to do it (ive actually never done it) ill be lvl 27 any 2 other people want to do it? I need more chances at better stuff
 
I'm really tired of grinding for shards at this point. I'm level 27 and fully leveled in one warlock class and like 80% in the other. All I need are shards anymore and VG rep.

I made it to the last boss in the weekly on level 28 by myself last night but just couldn't do it alone. I'm on ps4 if anyone wants to maybe try to complete something tonight.

I might shelve this game until bungie releases more content. The 2 or 3 ways they provide to get the chance to get the one thing I need are so tedious and boring at this point.

I know you are solo but doing the Nightfall+weekly = 10-19 upgraded materials. Add that to the 14 you get each week from doing the daily and quickly, without much effort sans Tuesdays, you will have a pile of them.
 
Yeah, they can add up quickly, at least for me energy keeps raining down. Shards on the other hand not so much lol. I am going to just dismantle vanguard gear for them since I am not having much luck getting them otherwise.

The nightfall is just tough because of all the shielded enemies. Elder Shanks, multiple captains. They can kill you in two shots or so as well which is just ridiculous sometimes. Even when I had my armor of light up and had my armor and recovery set to the top level they can be I was getting killed easily. It really is best to play hide and seek and take your shots carefully. So really to do it you need to plan ahead with your team and snipe them from afar. That way you can duck into some cover. Also, it is a good idea to go ahead and kill the enemies you can run past. If for nothing more than to get some ammo. Top off if you can. At the boss there are a couple spots you can sit in where he cannot get to you and you can sort of wait him out and take pot shots. One is at the beginning, jump up to that ledge that you drop off. Make sure someone is there to revive anyone killed in that spot. Generally one person can go down and take a shot at the boss and another provides cover from vandals and shanks that might come over. Revive the downed player when they are dealt with. The other spot is up where the sniper sits to the right side of the area facing the priest's cell. You can jump up to that ledge and duck under the platform. From there you can walk to the back under the walkway and you cannot be hit there. You can come out once in a while yo take shots at the boss. He will often walk around up to that platform and try shooting you but he can't hit you. When he gives up a bit he will walk down the ramp and you can shoot him there. Just be careful because the servators and shanks can still hit you when you come out from underneath the walkway. The fight takes a while but with elemental damage he will go down. As was said there is no time limit so you can afford to bring ammo synthesis packs and wait for their cooldown timer to reset when you are empty. Just sit in safety until it is up. Grenades do extra damage too so you can pop out and toss a grenade at the boss or whatever might be there, just aim carefully between the metal pipes of the platform if you decide to hide under there. Warlock sunsinger fusion grenades are great for this since they will try to fly toward the enemy and stick doing bonus damage for sticking too. The boss was taking big damage from them when I could stick him with one.

Between the daily, which netted me 4 shards yesterday and dismantling vanguard gear, I've been getting a ton of shards. At this point, my goal is get enough mats to level my gear and just help with the raid.

I have plenty of energy, not shards though.

I'm at level 27 and haven't played in about a week. I feel the repetitiveness is starting to get to me. Anyone know when the first DLC is scheduled for this game?

actually did the raid with some other people. all 27s, we cleared the Templer and stopped there

ended up getting energies, some gloves and an exotic scout rifle, also got the ecotic bounty for bad juju today
 
Does Iron Banner track things differently than the normal PvP? I've had a really bad run today where people are dropping out when they start losing. It's very frustrating as I'm trying to grind out a Exotic bounty where I need to kill around 100 or so people to unlock it. Them dropping out causes the whole thing to be much harder than it ever should be. I also like closer games than complete shut outs. I had one game today where I was on the losing team and suddenly there were only two of us. It was a joke at that point as I'd spawn and die with three people swarming me.
 
I think the losing team gets no rewards at all in Iron Banner. In regular pvp, both teams get rewards, the winning one just gets more rep and marks.

Just another stupid decision by Bungie. Technically, you could be playing for hours with next to no rewards, if others play bad and /or leave. A complete waste of time in my mind, spending hours playing a game and not getting any in-game rewards for it...

Which sniper did you get? Was it ice breaker?
 
Awwe man you got my scout rifle I was talking about last night lol

The armor is good though. If I am not mistaken the light level caps higher than normal legendary gear in that slot. Are the stats good? I haven't seen the stats on raid gear for warlock.
 
its got Discipline and strength. not amazing but OK, yes light caps at +30

has increased special reload time and the mele grenade one
