Its just the adds that are quite annoying. Are the heroic strikes the ones where you cannot revive yourself and have to start at checkpoints? That could be annoying when you get swarmed.

I haven't done one with a party, so I don't know about the reviving. I know Nightfall missions are particularly annoying, as you get zero checkpoints.

Just spent 185 vanguard marks on the Warlock helmet and chest piece. My first legendary items I can use. Finally level 25. Hoping xur has boots or gauntlets for Warlock this weekend because I have enough strange coins for one.

I got some legendary boots while on a strike yesterday and that prompted me to go ahead and spend my vanguard on the gauntlets and chest piece to match. Then I turned all my attention to farming upgrade materials. I made level 26 yesterday, but it's going to get harder going forward. I have to find a reliable way to get ascendant shards for the last three tiers on all three pieces of armor.

I think I'm going to have enough of both motes and coins to buy a couple of items from xur, but now I have to hope he's got either an exotic helmet or weapon I can use.

Yeah I will have enough coins for 1 item for sure, might be able to farm enough for a 2nd by the time friday rolls around. Motes of light I should be able to get at least 1 thing too.

Best way I have found for Ascendant shards is the public events.

Yeah I ended up getting a couple energies from public events. Just gotta be patient and they will come to us in time.

Anybody have server/connection issues last couple days/nights? Two nights ago I couldn't keep a connection to Destiny on my XB1 to save my life. The error message "vulture" (not signed in to Live Gold?) was simply not correct. I was signed in and everything else worked fine.

Last night, playing with my brother on the 360, again I was dropped a couple times. Said network connection issue (error code bee), though my network was and is fine. I wasn't even dropped from our party.

I guess one good thing is my brother was never dropped, so I could just rejoin his game...even if I originally started it.

My son keep getting connection problems last night on his One but it may have been a weak wifi connection to his room

I've yet to have any connection issues, only thing I had was a lag spike once this morning in a strike where I was shooting the boss and no damage was being done, he and all the other enemies (and my team mates) froze, then 2-3 seconds later everyone teleported 10-20 feet from where they were. After that it was back to normal. Lasted maybe a total of 4-5 seconds.

I had a strange glitch yesterday where my xbox one suddenly didn't recognize my gold membership and locked me out of all the multiplayer parts of Destiny. I tried everything: Restarting the system. Deleting my account, unplugging the power cable for a few minutes, then adding my account back. Reconfiguring my internet connection. In the end microsoft support had to cancel my membership and then reissue it in the form of codes to enter into the xbox. I got a free month of gold out of the deal at least.

A few days ago xbox live went out for about an hour too. I don't know if it's related or not though.

I wish I could buy stuff from the companion app..

I need to finish the story, get to 20 and do the awesome stuff everyone is talking about.

They updated the game to fix a couple Xbox issues.

I finally made it to the moon, I am liking the game so far. I played some missions with a couple friends, that was cool. I have to say, the moon level is visually amazing. It not only looks good but the backdrops, sky etc are very nice and make you feel like you are really in the universe. I am not sure how these types of mmo games plan out but if Bungie can take what they have built so far and expand the universe/planet areas etc while adding some improvements like flying your ship, more exploration/less boundaries this game could be amazing. Oh and of course improve the horrible dialogue and voice acting among some other things.

Today? 'Cause I did get a game update last night, and these issues were still occurring. Maybe they were still patching servers or something.

I think it was yesterday.

I like the voices in the game. The speaker is supposed to be talking to you as if you were his grandchild. Dinklege gets crap for the ghost but he is supposed to talk monotone, it is a robot. The lines are fine and fit what is going on.

I don't really feel there's an issue there myself.

My only complaint with the voice acting is that Dinklege is so recognizable. I always think "Oh, great. Tyrion Robannister is about to tell me something." Had they thrown in some kind of subtle humor referencing that, I'd be much more inclined to like him. Something like one of the characters referring him to as some sort of imp on your shoulder. Look at the other greatly voiced characters in games: they aren't well know people. David Hayter is Solid Snake. He's been in movies? Who cares? Or Cortana. I don't even know her real name, she is Cortana.

Maybe that's because he is so well known. You put a face with the voice. Other VAs don't really have the same impression upon hearing them. At least to me anyway.

That is my point though. Dinklage has a pretty distinctive voice and is known for other things. And, it doesn't help, the voice doesn't exactly lend itself to the character. James Earl Jones, for example, is the voice of Darth Vader. I can know who he is, what he looks like, but when I see Vader point at Leia, it isn't Jones speaking anymore, it is Darth Vader. The voice fits the character so absolutely perfect.

I picked up destiny today for Xbox one. If anyone wants to play my tag is Edmond Dantes3

Currently level 5 working my way up.

I have questions about the lore if anyone can answer. I'm having trouble understanding the fundamental start where the Ghost raises the player from death. Ghosts are machines with AI, created by the Traveler to "seek out those who can wield its light as a weapon".

1. Why are the ghosts raising the dead? Do any living beings have the ability to become guardians without dying first? If machines can wield the Traveler's powers, why bother? The ghosts can open doors and repair derelict space craft that have been busted for a century. Couldn't they just build a new machine army and take it to the baddies? Better yet, they have the power to repair Exos; therefore, they have the knowledge to build more. Ghosts share the travelers knowledge; therefore, that knowledge can be shared. See #3.

2. I get that the traveler has power and has somehow imparted the ability to raise the dead onto machines (ghosts). I get that not all beings can become guardians, but if a ghost (a AI machine) has the power to raise the dead, why not just raise every dead person it comes across instead of just ones that can potentially become guardians. Also, how does it know who can become guardians if they are dead as doornails when it comes across them. Wouldn't it need to, you know, somehow detect life energy to make that call?

3. The Exo "began as self-aware war machines developed by humanity during the Golden Age...Exos are "so advanced that nothing short of a Ghost can understand their inner function." So let me get this straight, humans built, from the ground up, a self aware war machine. Yet this same society, having built those machines for a long forgotten war, lost the technological knowledge to even restore them to their original war machine status and must rely on ghosts? Even in a diminished state, in the many many years since the "long forgotten war", humanity should have at a minimum maintained their tech knowledge and even improved upon it. During the golden age the traveler taught "humanity new powers and mystical technologies". Even assuming those powers were forgotten when the traveler when away, the ghosts are specifically raising people who can wield those powers. The ghost already knows how to raise the dead. Wouldn't it be simpler to simply teach that power to the guardians and let them start raising people en-masse?

To be fair I have no problem with disbelief. I don't need to understand how the jump drives work or why the guardians are only ever needed within a very limited area within old Russia. It's like watching Moon with Sam Rockwell. That said, there are some serious logic issues with some things. Hmmmm.

Got halfway through level 15 tonight. Thank god for bounties. I began doing some patrols on the moon and completed four of the five that I had, in addition to gold'ing my first public event (because I actually had some help for the first time). In about 45 minutes' time, I gained a level and a half.

According to my bungie.net profile, I've put 8 hours and 32 minutes into missions, 5 crucible matches and patrol. I would have guessed getting to level 15 would require a lot more time but it's flew by.

Nope, takes about 11-15 hours to hit level 20. But it took me twice that again to hit level 25. I have about 34 hours total and just hit 25 today.

But since endgame leveling is so loot dependant, somewhat difficult to gauge how long that will take.

The writing is terrible. They could put the best voice actor ever but he'd sound horrible because of how bad the dialogue is written.
