I haven't decided if I am getting it or not yet. I am stuck at 28 (literally cannot get shard to upgrade... always stupid energy) and if it isn't easier to get to 31, I won't bother.
Yea I'm definitely not trading the game in because I can use it as a "when I'm bored of everything else" title. For me it was pretty hard to get around to finding the public events but then I used the Destiny lfg site to try the daily events with people.

All the new vender armor has 33light. You can get to lv31 with 3 pieces and an upgraded exotic (or new raid piece). The new weapons cap to 331 as well.

Oh and you can only get engram's from the lv26 strike playlists now and that also requires the expansion. It seems they are trying to force people to buy it because they are locking so much behind it.

Well that makes it pointless for someone to play it if they will eventually lock everyone out. As long as all the daily stuff us not all just expansion levels, then I wouldn't care.

I think eventually you will see bounties that require the new missions or strike, and the daily story will eventually one that requires the expansion.

Wow that's seriously retarded. The decisions they have made continue to make for me game baffle me.

Also looks like you'll need the expansion for weekly Strikes as well, this week's you have to have the expansion, and will be rotated randomly so certain weeks like this week, if you don't own the expansion, you can't do the weekly heroic at all. Great job Bungie.

So basically stop playing this game if you don't have the DLC. That's basically what Bungie is telling us by making all this stuff behind the DLC paywall.

Forcing people into buying the expansion is pretty stupid. Especially, when it comes to matchmaking. But, Bungie is known for this, so it shouldn't be surprising. There were playlists in Halo 2 and onward that required the additional maps. They eventually were made available for free, but they cost money initially (unless you had a friend who purchased them on disc, as it could just be passed around).

Expect to farm tons of helium. Also, if you want to buy a chest or helmet for the 33 light, you need something called a vanguard commendation. You get one for leveling up vanguard. And no, no matter your current level, they make you level it again to get one.

Okay, so you can get 31 off of a vender now? I have to relevel vanguard? How many marks do the new pieces cost?

Yes and the body, arm, and leg armor from venders now costs 75marks. No longer 60

You don't have to relevel. You need a commendation to buy something from vanguard or factions. When you rank up you get one commendation.

For example if you are rank 23. If you need 1000more reputation points you will be rank 24 and also get one commendation. Then take that commendation along with the required number of marks to buy a piece of armor or a weapon.

To get 31 you need one croata's end raid piece or one new upgraded exotic armor (ones you turn in to Xur) and 3 pieces of vanguard or faction armor.

Ah. I didn't even realize you ranked past rank 3. Well, I may check that out. Maybe I can get a piece and finally be able to do the VoG raid.

You only need Vanguard marks to buy the helmet and the chest pieces of your armor. Or weapons. Boots and gloves only require marks, which is really nice. With an exotic, you only need a single level (assuming you're already level 3, that is) to purchase the gear you need.

And, after saying I was going to wait, when I got home I saw 4 friends online during the middle of the day, so I went ahead and spent the $35 for both expansions.

Also, the Vanguard scout rifles look really good. =( Better than this Juju I just popped and leveled. Don't have enough marks though. =(

Juju is pretty sweet after the buff, with the auto reload every kill, and auto reload reduces cool down on your super. Also buffed to have 8 bursts vs the old 5. Comes in handy.

Yeah, makes sense to force those unfortunate enough to not buy the expansion on day one to have nothing to do to gain gear from. Thanks Bungie!
Plus the Tiger Strikes, it's seriously retarded. It's different than not being able to access new stuff that's DLC only, they changed existing stuff to DLC only.

I haven't been this pumped for a game before it's release for long time. Look at my first posts at the beginning of this thread, I was expecting so much from this game. Even the Beta got me more pumped because I really enjoyed it and thought we'd have these huge world's to explore like they promised, so much to do, great story, but unfortunately what we got is very little content to grind over and over again, forced to play the game the way Bungie wants us to play, say that we have to play social when it's the least social MMO/FPS game made since the PS2 generation. Great for you guys that love this game but there's a reason why it didn't get the glowing reviews people were expecting, there's a reason why even players reviews are so polarizing. It just seems like they wasted the five years time they had developing this. You can tell that there's so much potential in this game, they could have had one of the best games in years. What the hell did they do with it? What the hell are they continually doing with it?

Heh, I feel you. I actually really like the gameplay (movement, gunplay, etc) but the content is pretty poor. I didn't mind the story, if we had continuing stuff and story end game. They really failed on forcing rep grinding though. I don't mind rep grinding existing, and those items being better than average (because, you have to grind to get them), but forcing it to even begin end game content is a bit silly.

And extending that grind to cater to already max level players is really going to hurt any new player.

Oh right that's cool...it also makes sense.

Disregard that last...

Rage187 and I just finished nightfall and let me tell you...it is the absolute worst mission I have ever played in this game. It's so ridiculous, not even fun. I don't even want to do it on my second character. I may do the weekly later on but man...

At least the drops were good. I got a Hawkmoon that goes to 331atk. Rage187 got a new exotic warlock helmet that goes to 36 light.
