Bungie said the NPC will give special missions that can reward you with items to push you past lv30. Nobody knows if that means gear, or materials that can be used on a piece of gear to push its light higher or what.
 
Summoning pits with Void? I think only the acolytes are dangerous and thralls as their melee is void type. Wizards will be cake, same for Knights. And last boss is cheese from far away... oh well. Not that I mind, don't really play the game anymore.
 
I don't remember seeing any burn on this weeks weekly. I'm dying for solar my hunter is a walking solar weapon currently as my favorites all seem to be solar lol.
 
TBH I really think its 100% random and the reason we don't see solar is the same reason all I get out of raids is shards

Just a note for those cheesing... the shrieker does void damage as well.
 
I'm pretty sure his blast is void but if your'e doing the fight that way "cheesing" you shouldn't be staying in the room the shrieker spawns long enough to get hit anyways (I know it happens last time this strike was the nightfall my buddy insisted on staying in there too long even when I would say it spawns in 2 seconds lol) but it's still good information.

Tried nightfall solo and failed at the door. Void doesn't have enough damage for wizards. Even with max Epilogue and Praedyth and a max HMG with void.
 
I failed solo this morning myself for the same reason, I also wasn't doing much damage to the nights arc shields. I only have Praedyth (maxed) and truth (not mazed) though. I'll try again after work when I have more time.

edit: if anyone on PS4 wants to do a run of the weekly let me know. PSN cmdrdredd. I did nightfall for both characters and ended up with 5 strange coins one time and a crap legendary fusion rifle the other time. I did weekly 28 once and ended up with 2 blue engrams. I don't even know why I do these events. All I ever get is coins, energy, or shards. When I don't, I get a weapon or armor that gives me energy or shards since I'll never use them. Two runs of hard mode raid this weekend and what did I get? Besides my 6th Epilogue...about 8 energy and 12 shards.

i ran it on my 2 dudes and got the same Rocket launcher i got last week but with a different damage type & Heart of the Praxic Fire which rilled pure disc which is good

now i actually need to do the raid this week to see if i can get a head

Well, the weekly heroic normally only gives out coins + blue engrams, so don't expect anything past that. NF should be the one that can get you some nice gear plus the xp buff.
 
i want to say the majority of the time i have seen someone get a legendary engram from the weekly, myself included
 
I finished the weekly and nightfall a couple times last night ended up getting the culling from one of the weeklies (from an engram.

Got the double grenade titan chest from the first nf run which is basically just material since I already have it (it's still a great drop if I didn't own it). I got Suros from the second run (I already had one from a nf last month but I'll just give it to another character).

All in a good run but at this point i'd rather shards or strange coins from nf as most exotics i'll already have or don't really want the exceptions being Gjallarhorn and Heart of the Praxic Fire which someone on my team got lol.

Actually no, the weekly has the same chance as the strike playlist to give a weapon or legendary engram.

Also to anyone doing nightfall this week. Truth is awesome for wizards if you have it because it is void and tracks. I ended up using that because I missed a lot with my other RL and my HMG wasn't doing enough before they could hide.

I'm on PS3 and PS4 username is the same as on here.
 
Just added you. I have been playing dragon age quite a bit so haven't been on destiny but if you want to run something or need people for raid I will always get notifications via the psn app.
