I looked on other forums and people said that on some strikes people just leave and try to get something else. I run them for marks to buy gear to dismantle into ascendent stuff. Anything else I get from them is just a little bonus.

Anyhow, I was just curious if more people are doing this lately. When it happened 3 times in a row I got suspicious.

So I got bored of the game but this past weekend I read about the public event spawn list so I've been grinding public events since this past weekend and got all legendary gear finally from grading vanguard marks. Went from lvl 24 last week to 27 yesterday. It seems that's the quickest way to level up from low 20 lvl. Doing strikes didn't get me anywhere since all that time and effort spent doing them hardly gets you any decent rewards except for Strange Coins or other high level goodies that do you no good until you need them. The random drops still suck in this game but I've leveled up fast just grinding Public Events. Getting Vanguard Marks, plus I've gotten some Shards and Motes of Light from grinding events too. Obviously now I'm going to have to start doing Raids since I'm stuck at a wall and need a ton of Shards to level up the final levels of my gear so I'm sure that's going to take a while. I should have done this before long time ago.

Do you mean legendary (purple)? I don't think you can get exotic gear (yellow) from public events. Actually, I think all you can potentially get are legendary materials, marks, and rep.

ive seen it a lot actually, less lately.

a lot of time I think people forget to leave the playlist from the one before and have to wait to leave until it loads. I did notice that I was 2 manning a lot of them layely


I got "The Swarm" Void HMG off that legendary engram I got doing the last part for Thorn last night

I think he meant that he got his vanguard up to 2 from events. How much rep do they give because I need to lvl up rep.

You get 4 Vanguard Marks for every Public Event completed on Gold. Plus you can get Shards as well. Also since you're basically roaming around Old Russia, you get chests and Spin Metal. You can average 16 to 20 marks an hour.

All you need is vanguard rep 2. Vanguard 3 is for weapon and those you will get from drops. Once you have that buy the best armor for your class minus the exotic piece you get from Xur for strange coins. You will shoot to 27 or 28 very rapidly.

Max out your exotic armor with shards and then try to get raid armor. I was stupid enough to max out all the vanguard armor before realizing you need raid armor for level 30.

Daily level 28 and gold public events will be your best friend. Only real way to get shards outside of the vault of glass.

Pretty sure its 24.99% some stupid shit like that it's why I sometimes only get 499 rep for doing the weekly instead of 500

Cheeesed mode twice today because people randomy invited me for being a warlock got 2x mythoclast the ship in the sparrow

You don't always get the right weapons from drops. Relying on the game to give you weapons is folly. Your best bet is buying what you want from venders until you can buy stuff from xur with strange coins or get exotic bounties. Weapons like Shadow Price, Vanquisher, Grim Citizen don't often come from engrams. Every time you rank vanguard past 3 you have a chance to get items as a reward through the postmaster. I've gotten a legendary scout rifle, & the devil you know hand cannon that way. I've never gotten weapons worth anything from nightfall, weekly, or vanguard strikes. I have seen people get exotics that way but it is not a good idea to rely on that. The only weapons I've received as rewards came from the Vault of Glass. The RNG in this game is unreliable at best.

My Vanguard is rank 13 because I always do my daily bounties and daily story and max my marks each week. I also maxed all my gear as I went. I had legendary stuff and maxed it, got an exotic piece and maxed it, got raid gloves and maxed them, got raid helmet now and am working on maxing it. The extra defense is important. Your weapons are important, You should try to get Legendary weapons and level them. Don't rely on the game to give them from drops. If you have to, buy them. Guaranteed legendary stuff is better than sitting on Rares too long. If you max your marks weekly which takes almost no effort, you can buy a full legendary set in about two weeks and a legendary weapon in about another week. I've seen people complain about not getting stuff from drops when all they have to do to progress is buy some legendary stuff from venders. You can hit level 28 from vanguard, faction, or crucible gear.

yea the titan chest and the SUROS should be must buys for those that don't have them

the SUROS is still an amazing main wep even after the change to ARs so if you need a primary its very solid
and yes people should be buying weps to fill the gaps of what they need, ive gotten pretty lucky on drops, I got my shadow price from a drop/engram 2 days before I was gonna purchase it with marks. same with the 77 wizard, im still gonna but an arc sniper and void rocket launcher because I need those
 
The drops in this game still piss me off. I'm lvl 27 and have gotten just three legendary engrams, never gotten anything exotic. Two turned into stuff for Warlock and I am Titan, and only one turned into something I could use, Legendary Sniper Rifle.

I thought I saw you at level 29? Also, thought you got the Suros Regime from doing the raid? Am I thinking of the wrong guy.
