I'm going out of town for 4 days (Disney World) so I won't be able to attempt Raid until next week. I should have gone on Sunday when I had the opportunity but I had a dinner to go to with family and wasn't going to join and bail on them half way so I missed out. I'm pretty much at the wall now (295-296) without raid drops to bring my light up above 300 on some slots. My ghost is dragging me down a bit. Everything else is 295+ except a couple situational weapons at 294.

Make sure you do the daily today. Complete the first part and detour to Kell (Ketch) strike to obtain Year 2 Black hammer called "Black Spindle". It is a guaranteed 310 light level sniper.

We are going to see a lot of 300+ players after today.

FYI, it is harder than Oryx from King's fall raid.

There is a glitch where you can uncover a secret mission within daily where it rewards you with exotic black hammer.

read on Forbes it is not a glitch. The only glitch is that it is 310 and Bungie said it should only be 290 and will be retroactively fixing it.

There is a hotfix coming out today that might address it.

Yeah they are changing all the spindles to 290 instead of 310 and the kiosk to 280 instead of 300. The only thing they won't change is any weapons you infused using the 310 version. Some people have purchased one from the kiosk at 300 and infused the 310 to it making it 307. Won't matter the gun is pretty bad anyway since white nail nerf. 1000 yard stare owns it IMO.

I have to laugh at all the people on bungie's forums complaining about the hot fix to it and talking about how they deserve a 310 weapon since they tried for 10 hours to get it. So they really think Bungie wants a daily heroic, no matter what difficulty to offer a weapon that is stronger to start off than raid gear? Yeah you can say the raid is easy by comparison but we don't have hard mode yet and until then we really don't know how that daily compared with that. There is also the likely hood that hard raid will have some exotics nobody knows about yet because they aren't listed in the armory.

Three of Coins now provides a smaller increase in Exotic Engram drop chance when rapidly killing Ultras

I own a 1000 yeard but Black Spindle owns it in every way (other than being an exotic).
For raid, all the bosses are stationary and you can pretty much unload 18+ shots without ever reloading.

This black spindle was the toughest thing I've done on destiny so far, and I am looking for more quests like this.

Everyone on the forums I visit who have both say it is kind of waste of an exotic slot over other options available also you burn through your ammo anyhow because of the nerf. If you use it, you cannot use the touch of malice which a lot of people seem to have now and want to use. I guess it depends on what perks are on all your stuff. Like my 1000 yard stare has incredibly high stability so I would prefer to run with that myself for most things.

What I really like now is the lack of any exotic that you put on and never remove. They are all pretty situational now or have some utility that makes them good for specific things but not another "max Gjally only" type. If you don't have a certain weapon there is another you can equip that can be almost as good and will work fine. I think that's why bungie is hesitant to reveal the sleeper stimulant in the game if it will be in this expansion at all. People assumed it would be the next gjallarhorn but I think bungie is really working to avoid another must have exotic like that.

I use Boolean Gemini/ToM + 1000 yard + Smolder.
For Raid, Last Extremity/Zaouli's Bane + Black Spindle + Baron's ambition.

I have a smolder and really like it for a RL. Also a Telesto fanboy for many situations. I can't always pop precision shots and the telesto really puts out the damage at times. There are a lot of workable combos and I really enjoy that aspect. No longer is everyone running around with the same couple setups. Everyone was using VoC, IB, Hunger or VoC, some legendary sniper, Gjallarhorn. There is more variety now and they all work well.

Year 2 is the best so far. Very happy with it and I left back in April.

So with the overwhelming positive reviews and everybody praising TTK, I bought it. Played with Rage187 a bit - got my hunter and titan to lvl40 and slowly building my toons again. It was a bit weird to pretty much dismantle everything but oh well... I must say, the amount of loot is a lot bigger than I remember from the base game (skipped TDB and HoW). Game's fun again There are many things to do and discover and there are some nice touches like special keys, hidden missions and other stuff The whole inventory interface is redesigned and is a lot more user friendly! All in all, well spent 300DKK ($45) which is all that matters in the end. I really thought the base game got really boring and tedious after a while and completely skipped the two DLCs - and paying $150 for it definitely made me hesitant to spend any more money on Destiny. Let's see how long the "new" will last this time

Yeah it's a totally different experience in many ways.

The mass amount of "possibly" usable loot is what makes it fun to just screw around. I see blues fly around really often.

Also amazed at just how addicting this is and I've put in 'many' hours thus far, but up to lvl40 Titan and around 240 light! Just was not expecting it to be so fun, and I've trouble explaining exactly why.

Really want to do some raids, like crota or the other one on venus, but have no fireteam and I've found soloing impossible.

So they still won't let you do random raids? That is unfortunate. IMO they should do it like WoW. Have the base raid for most players and make it PUG/Matchmaking friendly. Then have a heroic version with better loot for those that can get a group of friends together. Then everyone gets to see the content, but hardcore players still get more from it.

Do you mean you didn't have any versions of the game until you bought the entire TTK bundle and that's what you've been playing through?

Correct. I played in beta and left it then. I then picked up the 'legendary' edition and have since played it through from the start.

You can do them, but the rewards from the previous raids are not useful in the new content as the drops are not scaled up.
