Regardless, the new DLC isn't actually terrible. Prison of Elders is only a 3 person mode, so it is easier to get into groups and there is a MM version (only lvl 28, but still not bad).

Hard mode is usually one above the level cap so 41. Probably won't release hard mode for a month or two after as well.

The whole game is fundamentally changing this time around. I am thinking the taken king is basically Destiny 2. You hit the max level without the special gear. Year 1 gear is obsolete. (end of gally, thank god)

People are crying but I'm looking forward to new weapons. I'll be keeping a few of my favorites around for regular crucible. From vanilla I only have a shadowprice and from TDB the only special legendary I really have is my LDR. From HoW I imagine that I'll be keeping my hopscotch pilgrim, maybe loner rebel, and not too much else.

That is why I gave up on the game. That was also with a 6 man team so I guess the three man team missions are easier to come by. Either way looking forward to the refresh.

I've used the forums and LFG with quite a bit of success. Sometimes it takes a bit of work and sometimes the groups are retarded but overall it works.

Some of my friends said its getting nerfed and they will have a new heavy that eclipses it and that's why it's being sold now. Though I think it's more a tactic to get people to sign back in and play before the next expansion releases.

I played Destiny in both beta stages last summer, and I accidentally pre-ordered Destiny on PS4 (don't remember how I did that) and sent in a ticket asking to refund, Sony said nope so I was stuck with the game, played it for maybe 3 weeks then removed it from storage. I'd probably be wasting bandwidth, disk space and time to install it again. lol
 
So I've been away from the game for quite a while but I'm looking to start back up. My highest guardian(warlock) is only 25 and I've never done any group content. I'm currently starting over with a Titan but I'd love to group with some people that play on ps4.

I got coaxed into buying it on Xbox one also since a coworker said he was going to carry me through but that was more or less a lie. I blew some cash . Having this game on 2 platforms is silly but the damage has been done I suppos.

I have it for xbox one but I stopped playing at lv22 because of that light level bullshit. Now that taken king will let me go to 40 I am thinking about going back. Since original game with all the expansions is $60 vs $40 for taken I thinking on just getting that so might be time to ponder getting it for ps4 instead.

I am fairly certain level 40 is also from light, not XP.
 
XP can you take to level 40.

Light has some influence but not as much as it did previously. The raid will have light level recommendations.

They want to prevent the massive jumps in power when increasing the light level and it being based on drops of raid gear.
 
I can see why they're doing it based on XP because a lot of people had 3 34's within a week of House of Wolves coming out. The main thing I'm missing right now is doing Skolas because I've spent most of the last couple of months doing PVP.
 
Just bought Destiny Taken King from Amazon. 50 bucks OTD. Hope I get some good content out of this. Watching the live streams make it look like it will be a solid addition. Never bought the other DLC. Hope this gives me at least a solid 20 hours of content.

TTK will provide a lot of content.

TDB and HoW won't really provide you with much at this point. Most of the content with those two DLC will be obsolete in less than 1 month.

But for $50 (I assume you bought legendary edition), you're going to get a full complete game, so that's pretty good.

After TTK, they will proabably have more DLC coming just like the Year 1 stuff charging about 20 bucks each or 35 for both

20 hours??? I'm at 700 on Vanilla + TDB + HOW
