Normally, I would agree, but the Steelers game is at Denver. That gives us the edge.

Waa waa waa, you fuckers say the same thing every single week... and they keep winning. Get that giant electrified dildo out of your colon and just admit it; the Broncos have surprised everyone are are actually pretty good. Are they the best? Of course not, but saying they're not very good is absurd.

lol, pretty sensitive are we? I honestly couldn't care less about the Broncos, but to say they're "pretty good" is a bit of an exaggeration at this point. The only good team they've gone through at this point is Cinci. They beat:

Cleveland - may as well be 0-4, they squeaked out that single win against Buffalo and Buffalo, is, well, also bad at 1-4 (who's only win comes over 0-5 TB).

Oakland - may as well also be 0-4, after squeaking out their single win against 0-5 KC.

Dallas - they should be decent, but who knows yet after they've only toppled the aforementioned giants of TB/KC (the latter bein gan OT win).

New England - another team that is under performing so far, barely beat Buffalo, though are probably still better than their 3-2 start. Well, if they start to pull it together.

So what do we have here? A 5 point win, and a 3 point OT win over the two better teams they've played in Cinci and NE. The Dallas win gives them a bit of credit, but like I said, Dallas is still an unsure squad this year.

So please give me the overwhelming evidence that Denver's 5-0 start is indicated of a "pretty good" team.

All that is evidence of 'pretty good'. I didn't say 'quite good' or 'very good' and was very careful not to, as I know they haven't played great teams. People were predicting the Broncos to not even winning 4 games, and they've already won 5 including 2 that were not expected as wins. The fact is that we've greatly improved over last year, and are one of the biggest surprises of the season.

I'm not claiming anything right now, but it's pretty obvious that the Broncos will dominate the AFC West bearing any injuries.

It's bizarre how polarized the NFL is this year. It seems like there is a pretty big gap between the "good" teams and the "bad" teams. Denver probably will win the AFC West with that 5-0 start as long as they win, what, 2 or 3 games the rest of the season? I mean Oakland and KC? Ouch, they're bad. So many 4-1 teams and so many 1-4 teams. It's nutty.

Right. I have no clue how we'll do in the playoffs, and I'm pretty sure the Giants at least will do bad things to us when we face them, but the fact that they'll get to the playoffs fairly easily at this point is at least a mark of 'pretty good'.

Honestly, I wouldn't even be so sure about the NYG. They haven't played a team over 500 yet. In fact, 3 of their wins are TB, KC, and Oakland. Yikes. Their other two wins are the potentially equally bad Skins, and the uncertain Cowboys. Of course the NFC East teams always play each other tough and that Dallas game was pretty good. But really, NYG has a combined opponent record of 6-19.. eek. They've honestly played an easier schedule, so far, than your Broncos. We'll wait to see how NY looks after going through NO and Philly in the next 3 weeks.

5-0 Giants:

Washington - This team fucking sucks. Easy win.
Dallas - By your standards, this team sucks. It was the hardest fought game though.
Tampa Bay - This team fucking sucks. Easy win.
Kansas City- This team fucking sucks. Easy win.
Oakland - This team fucking sucks. Easy win.

Summary: 4 creampuff wins, 1 real test of talent.
Verdict? By Vrolok's standards, not a good team.

=====================================================

5-0 Vikings:

Cleveland - This team fucking sucks. Easy win.
Detroit - This team fucking sucks. Easy win.
San Francisco - This team was their 1 challenge. Hard game that tested them, Won on last play.
Green Bay - This team was another challenge. Played better than at San Fran.
St. Louis - This team fucking sucks. Easy win.

Summary: 3 creampuffs, 2 real battles.
Verdict? By Vrolok's standards, better than the Broncos/Giants 2 teams, but not exactly a really good team.

=====================================================

4-0 Saints:

Detroit - This team fucking sucks. Easy win.
Philadelphia - Good team, but they played them sans McNabb. Jury still out.
Buffalo - This team is supposed to be good, but sucks. Easy win.
NY Jets - Good team, but they played a great game.

Summary: 2 creampuffs, 1 tough team, 1 undecided.
Verdict: By Vrolok's standards, probably the same league as the Vikings.

=====================================================

4-0 Colts:

Jacksonville - This team sucks but it was a hard fought battle.
Miami - This team also gave them a tough battle.
Arizona - This team is not playing to its potential (or so we think). Easy win.
Seattle - This is a good team that isn't consistent. Colts still played well.
Tennessee - Current score 21-9. Most likely will pull out a win.

Summary: 1 creampuff, 2 hard fought games, 2 easy wins over teams that are better on paper.
Verdict: The team most deserving of the title "pretty good team".

=====================================================

I guess the only team that Vrolok thinks is a pretty good team is the Colts. All these other undefeated teams are just pretenders.

Don't knock the Broncons...they have really great defense. Sure, one of their wins was a fluke but they've been playing great.

I'm not a fan of your Broncos (don't hate them either). But I really like the coach. I really hope some teams look towards some of the younger talent out there. It worked for Pittsburgh.
Nice game today.

lol. Costas was talking to the Broncos QB during the Colts/Titans halftime...he is so meek. Seems like a decent fellow.

I just got back from the Broncos game.

If you look at the QB stats for the game Orton had a better game than Brady.

The Denver Defense only allowed 6 first downs in the second half, and 2 of those were because of "Ruffing the kicker" and "Lining up off-sides".

We also scored 13 points in the second half and the Pats 0.

The real test is yet to come with several very tough teams.

Yep, I pretty much agree with that analysis, and actually if you look up a bit I already said that the NYG haven't even started to prove themselves yet, I think the Broncos have proven more than the Giants have. Not necessarily are these teams all pretenders, I'm just saying it's still too early to tell, especially with how bad some of these teams are. You may be frustrated by it, but can you really disagree? Having 3 wins given to any team by any combination of Detroit/Oakland/KC/TB/Cleveland means absolutely dick.

Yet the Broncos only have two wins from those teams listed.

I was just explaining how it's too early in the g of thseason filled with bad teams to begin to call teams "pretty good." I wasn't directly speakine Broncos. I believe the NYG are just as unproven as Denver, if not even worse off.

I agree with you that it is early in the season

The Titans started off 10-0 last season and fizzled in the first round to Baltimore.
The Bills started off 4-0 and didn't even make the playoffs.
The Giants started off 11-1 and fizzled in the first round to the Eagles.

Let me ask you this.

Out of the Chargers, Ravens, Steelers, Giants, and Eagles (next 5 of 6 games), how many of those do the Broncos need to win in order to be considered serious contenders?

Or better yet, which teams do they need to beat in order to be considered serious contenders?

Tough to say, I think if they win any 3 of those games I'd say they've got it put together. I think it's still too early to even claim any of those teams have made themselves out to be solid. I thought the Stillers might be alright this year.. but barely beating Detroit? Philly? Eh, I think they've got a good team this year but they did get absolutely decimated by NO (of course they didn't have McNabb, but still) and they would not have beaten TB today if TB wasn't absolutely terrible. Philly is fairly consistently above average though. The Giants may prove themselves in the next few weeks, as well. Chargers? Eh. Ravens? Who knows. I think if they win 2/lose 3 or better that's a pretty good looking mid-season spot. I just haven't really watched any teams this year and said, "Wow" they look great. Even the teams at the top haven't pushed through much.

I would say if we pull off a win against the steelers we would be considered true contenders, I think we are now, but playing the steelers a week after what will be a physical game against the Ravens will be the final test for this team, after that the broncos will get serious playoff thoughts

I'll admit I'm surprised, but I have absolutely zero expectations of them to do anything in the playoffs. I still think they're a pretender at this point, "they keep winning" isn't an argument when less than half the season has been played, too many outliers. Beating one team that is accepted to be a contender at home, and needing OT to do it doesn't automatically legitimize a season. I think the Bengals are yet another pretender (of which I think they're also the better team of the two, a decision I made pretty easily) and the Broncos needed a miracle play to win that game.

I love this double standard of toughness of schedule.

Colts - JAC - MIA - ARI - SEA - TEN 1 team with a 2-2 and the rest are all LOSING
Giants - WAS - DAL - TB - KC - OAK 1 team with a winning record that the Broncos beat and the other 4 are LOSING
Vikings - CLE - DET - SF - GB - STL Can you even comment on a schedule that puts you against the Browns, the Lions and the Yams? seriously? They have played 1 winning team and 1 that's 2-2
Saints - DET - PHI - BUF - NYJ 2 winning records and 2 cream puffs.
Broncos - CIN - CLE - OAK - DAL - NE Oh look, 3 teams with actual winning records and 2 complete jokes. But 3 is more then the rest.

I think all of these teams are good and the Bronco's may very well be the worst of these remaining undefeated, but this talk about the Bronco's haven't been tested.. and what these other teams have?
