I HATE IT!

I so want to watch that match.. and I couldnt.. 🙁

I hate it.. ... I hope to get the highlights DVD liek the last time I did it.

I wish american tv will atleast show "highlights" on the local news.. after all there are more ppl worldwide watching.. remember we are a country of immigrants.. and I am sure tehre will be more than enough viewers to boost ratings in febuary (febuary was the ratings sweep .. and had some channel done so they would have had the ratings).

What about Fox sports?? I thought they covered it?? I saw the England against India match though.

Congrats India from the Pakistani side! 🙂

Thanks! That's the spirit! Pakistan played pretty damn well too! Wasim and someone else (forgot his name) did great. And Aktar finally got Tendulkar out. They should have contest where its one sub-continent against another! That would be fun. I would love to see a team with Pakistan's bowlers and India's batsmen, they would pretty much dominate everyone!

SherEPunjab: It costs us approx $30CDN with tax for one game on pay-per-view. Now that India made it into the Super Six my dad might get satellite since there will be more games to watch and it isn't cost effective to continue using pay-per-view. We only watched three games so far and only one was dissappointing out of those (India vs. Australia).

It was really great watching this match with about ~70 people ( about equal from India and Pakistan). Kaif and Yuvraj Singh were impressive.

Bump, because it seems I was wrong about England getting Embarrassed by the Aussies

Australia currently need another 69 runs to win from 11.5 overs with only 2 wickets left standing.
England may have a chance of making the super sixes afterall 😀

Guess Pakistan is out of the World Cup 100% now 🙁 (not they should have made it given their play). Sachin once again proved the he is the best batsman in the world. Among top 5 to ever play the game IMO. Seems like only yesterday i was watching him, as a 16 year old no less, smack around Mushtaq Ahmed and Abdul Qadir for sixes (in Peshawar i think) with commentators saying "Hey thats not like the little Master" (he was initially billed as the 'new little master', Sunil Gavasker was the original little master who wasnt big on hitting sixes to say the least 😛)

Damn, the England v Australia match is pretty close at the finish

Australia still have 2 wickets left and need 14 runs from the last 2 overs.

holy sh*t england lost!!!!

Ofcourse they still have a much higher net run rate!

But still there might be hope still!!!!

EDIT: btw i meant hope for pak team 😛

Yay, typical England snatch defeat from the jaws of victory 🙁

Akaz, I don't think Pakistan can qualify. The rankings go on points first, then the result between two teams tied on points and then on run rate.
Even if Pakistan beat Zimbabwe heavily they cannot go above England as they will both have 12 points and England beat Pakistan.

Heh but see technically England lost to Zimbabwe. So each of the 3 contesting teams that are at 12 points (Zimbabwe, England and Pakistan) would have lost to one of the two opponents. Therefore, it moves to the next tie breaker which is run rate!

Found the stuff on Cricinfo, might as well have not bothered 🙁
As a result of Australia beating England in their last Pool A match, the reigning champions will finish first with 24 points and India will qualify for the Super Six in second place with 20 points. The only doubt remaining is whether England, Zimbabwe, or even Pakistan will take the third place from the group.

If Zimbabwe beat Pakistan in Bulawayo, they will take the last spot in the Super Six with 16 points and they will still go through even if they only take two points from the match.

However, should Pakistan win, England, Pakistan and Zimbabwe will all be level on 12 points and the outcome will be decided on run rate as, in that instance, all will have the same number of points, same number of wins and each will have one win in matches played between themselves.

As Zimbabwe will have to lose the game to be level on points with England and Pakistan, they will be unable to improve their net run rate to move above England, although Pakistan still could.

For Pakistan to achieve a better run rate than England's, the International Cricket Council have come up with the following possibilities:

If Zimbabwe bat first and score 100, Pakistan will need to get the runs in 10.5 overs. If they score 150, Pakistan will need to get the runs in 12.1 overs. A score of 200 allows Pakistan 13.2 overs, while 250 allows 14.2 overs.

If Pakistan bat first and score 200 they will need to dismiss Zimbabwe for 13 or less. If they score 250 they will need to dismiss Zimbabwe for 62 or less while 300 sets a target of 112 or less. Should Pakistan reach the dizzy heights of 350, the target goes up to 161.

Tho i dont really understand the math. 100 run gives pak 10 over but 200 give only 3 more?! /shrugs

Anyhow, pak team has done this to themselves! 🙁

woot! India won again! They thrashed Sri Lanka, and are now through to the semis, where they will probably meet either Kenya or New Zealand.
