I don't bowl regularly anymore. My best game I did when I was in 8th grade 25 years ago, when I did bowl in a league, and got a 244. No idea on series, but I used to be pretty good. Now I'm lucky to get a 150.

I with Brunswick would start making the Zones again. I shot a 300 and an 800 series (not on the same night) with a Danger Zone.

I still bowl with one! I have an HPD in my bag that I go to when I need something a little less aggressive. Coverstock on that is like indestructible.
I have 3 still. The old Danger Zone, and two other ones...can't remember what they are called, but both the same type, drilled different ways.

Unfortunately, all 3 are 16lb balls, and I don't use them....a 16-pounder feels like a hunk of lead after using a 15lb ball....you wouldn't think one measly pound would make that much difference, but it does.

Yeah I switched from 16lb to 15lb a couple years ago, helped keep my shoulder from wearing down.

I shot my 300 with my old HPD. Great ball. I had a speed zone too, that was also a great ball. Still searching for that elusive 800. Came close once with the agent, and a couple time with the HPD.

I'm a Stroker 😀 so I can throw the 16 all day long. Of course I am still some what young so I wouldn't doubt the 15 will be in my future some day.

I shot an 800 with the Danger Zone, 300 a year or two later with the same ball. Shot another 800 and I'll be damned if I can remember which one I used then....I'm thinking the X-Zone.

Back in the day, (1988) I shot an 807 in a tournament qualifier with a Columbia Black Knight, a hard plastic ball. That was before reactive, during the short oil (23 feet, IIRC) days.
Still have that ball.

Here i was thinking i wouldn't have to worry about posting scores to come even close to some of you and, as it turned out, i was right.

2nd week of league this morning. established a 158 avg last week . 4 frames into game one. delivered the ball, backing up to watch it finish and blam! Tripped on my own feet, went ass over teakettle and...

out for at least 3 months with fractured right arm. Don't remember which bone it is,radius or ulna, but fractured across one of the knobs at the wrist end. ist broken bone ever. hurts like a son of a gun, but I've got vicodin to keep me happy! My teammates aren't going to be thrilled and husband may have to do a lot of things he's never been accustomed to doing. Just a couple of hours into it and I.m hating this cast already. Sigh.

I actually moved from a 15lb main ball to a 16lb. It does have a weight hole drilled so it's a little less, but I really like it. Hits very well.

My backup ball is a 15lb and so is my spare ball.

LOL so I guess this season is starting slower than I thought. Bowled a 533 tonight. Ah well, still establishing average so low scores aren't too horrible yet.

I did well tonight.

698 Series

I had 8 in a row in the 2nd game and ended up with a stupid 4-6-7-10 split in the 9th.

Average is still 164 because I didn't bowl last week.

Second week in, bowled a 697. Average is still 211 though. Hoping next week is bad so when they recalc the average after 9 games it's not a 230+. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Edit: By the way Pac, nice bowling after 4 years off. I need to take a lesson from Odin on the whole start low end high.
I'd rather start off fairly high. That way you don't have to worry about trying to bring your average up after you have a bunch of games already bowled.
I never have much, if any handicap anyway.

Thanks, btw....I'm pretty happy with where I am. I quit when averaging 215. So I'm right back there....I was hoping to average that by the end of the season, but since I'm already right at it, I'll shoot for 220.

Yeah...I wouldn't try to throw the average down, but there are too many a-holes in this league that do it so they can get the extra points in handicap, so I have to do it too.

The first year I bowled in this league, I remember we got as a team 1300ish points w/ handicap (5-man team) and LOST that game. No matter how well we played, whoever we played bowled their best game of the year when they played us. That was frustrating.

This league has a payout so it's competitive, and sandbagging should be dealt with, but it isn't. So gotta play the game or end up down too many points starting out. It's stupid. They should start you at the average you ended at if you played in the same league the year before.

There was a guy on a team in the summer league who bowled like 90-110 games to set his average. He wouldn't bowl until they needed extra points, and would come "sub" and roll 180's.

Nice series. Too bad you missed the 700. Sounds like you won't have much of a problem getting it later in the year though.

My league is more of a fun league yet there are still some who play the stupid average management game. Funny thing is difference in payout at the end of the year between first and last place might be about $50-75 per man so it's not even worth it. Every week I try to shoot as good as I can since it's the only league I'm on other than the occassional subbing on my sister's team.

Edit: Last night bowled 193,193,204 for a 590. Average is now 223 (2012 pins, 9 games) For some reason had problems with 7 pin conversion.

Funny thing about this week was, I was high man on the pair with my 587....nobody could carry. One guy left the 7-10 three times on the right lane, with good pocket hits. Corner pins would not fall.

What I've found out is, the bowling center thought that the high scores had gotten a little out of hand the last few years, so they've toughened up the shot a little. You can still score, but you don't have 12 boards for your target to hit the pocket.
And supposedly, they were going to make it tougher on the lefties.....lefties have had it way too easy at this house for years. Before I quit years ago, I watched one guy set the ball down from the 3rd arrow all the way to the gutter and still hit the pocket.

Thanks 🙂

Yeah I was bummed I didn't hit that 700. This is the best I've bowled in a while, felt really good and hoping I can keep it up. Had a chance at that 300 but man it got messed up at the end.

As for patterns here, they aren't bad. They do a crown with every other board on the right/left oiled - in like 4-6 boards or something.

They also have a sport shot league which I might try sometime. New pattern each night.

Can you say D-bag?

Can you say fuck off?

And stop PM'ing me, psycho.

Stop being a self-admitted sandbagging d-bag who ruins bowling leagues for everyone then blames everyone but themselves, AND play me pool for all your money. Until then, no and no.

I've been bowling in a league on Wednesday nights for a few years now.
Current average is 180 and my last series was a 643. My previous high was a 647. I'm still hoping for that 650 one day.

Totally forgot today was Wednesday so I'll post again if i happen to beat my score tonight.

Glad I saw this. Completely forgot.

Subbed this past Wednesday but didn't do too great.
143, 157, 171 for a 471 series. Average = 157

Considering I had an upper 180's average when I bowled in the league, I was disappointed.
