If you stuck the signature Bimmer front onto a Japanese car, this is what you get.

Thumbs down, sorry.

No way, this looks pretty smart. The Matrix is butt ugly (it's Vibe sibling is easier on the eyes).
This thing still has the flame treatment.

Strange. Most angles look aweful, but every now and then I see a color that makes it look somewhat attractive. I need to see the car in person.

Looks like it got Gang Bangled. :D
It's ugly, I would pick a Mazda 3 over it. I don't care if it's a bimmer with rwd and 6 banger, it's fugly.

I can't believe they're still making cars with that. I remember Gabe Newell saying in an interview that the I-Drive on his BMW was one of the least intuitive devices he'd ever seen. The whole concept is retarded. "Lets distract drivers even more by forcing them to use a single joystick to control climate, GPS, and other stuff in the cabin!"

The higher-performance 163bhp BMW 120d achieves 49.6mpg yet is capable of a 7.9 second zero to 62mph time and a 137mph top speed

I'd buy it! :D The more I look at it the more I like it. I oogle over the new 5 series whenever I am at the dealer.

the cars give damn good mileage!! and i kinda like the side profile. the front im not too sure about..and the back I hate. too many unnecessary likes. only if it came in a coupe and a little more powerful (~200hp)

yuck! (last pic on 1st row at the bottom) what are those 2 lines doing on the back?!

What do you expect from a diesel? I bet the gas cars are no better than anything else in the class.

I thought I heard we probably wouldn't see the hatch in the US. Of course I also heard we wouldn't see the 1 series at all so I don't know what to believe. As for the styling, it just looks like a scaled down X3 to me.

Looks decent, but is sure to be another overpriced, underpowered BMW, which will be handidly smoked by any other number of cars, for less money.

HAHAHA!

" BMW 1 Series makes its entrance in Autumn 2004 and will immediately offer a new benchmark to driving dynamics in its class. A 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 150Nm of torque at 4,300rpm powers the entry-level BMW 116i. The 115bhp unit achieves a zero to 62mph time of 10.8 seconds and a top speed of 125mph. Even with this high level of performance, the 116i achieves an economical fuel consumption of 37.7mpg."

Gee, you think some reported was biased for BMW??

I bet my sentra could hang with him up to 60, although that seems like a fanciful top speed, to me, for a car with a mere 115 horsepower. All that performance can probably be had at the bandit-like price of only $24,500!
