It's not that German ponies are stronger. That's like saying a german kilogram is heavier than a japanese kilogram. Suppously BMW is less optimistic when rating the crankshaft HP compared to other manufacturers. A lot of people are saying that the SL600 is putting considerably more HP than the official spec. Same thing people were saying about the Neon SRT-4

Anyways...the front of the E90 looks decent. The rear is FVCKING NASTY!!! Daewoo Lanos called and wants the tailights back

BMW Lanos

That's called "underrating". GM also did that with their LS1. That's a separate issue, notice I said earlier, "assuming the manufacturer accurately rated the car." The unit of HP didn't change.

And I have seen no evidence that BMW consistently underrates all of their models. The timer at the dragstrip doesn't lie. 😛

HP has no direct correlation to quarter mile time. See what a 1500lb 200HP CRX does to a 300HP heavier car...

Let's just say when I hope to be able to afford a BMW in ~2007/2008, I will not be enticed to get a brand new model and will get a sweet ~2003 off a lease.

every bmw goes on a dyno before it leaves the factory in germany, this is to test to make sure the car at least meets the hp/tq values that are published in the manuals.

I know this because I have a video of an e46 being built step by step, and after its all done, they dyno it.

Where the cars modified any for the Drag Strip?

pic vs this

looks great imo - lot more subtle than the 5 and 7 series, yet fresh enough to distinguish itself from the current line. Second best Bangle design (z4 looks great), all the liens flow and theres no bump on the trunk. I cant wait to see it in real life - both the 5 and 7 series look better in real life than in picture, so the 3 series gotta be amazing

Oh yeah no more eye brows and droopy headlights (bowed downwards)... i hope bangle has learnt a lesson
