On H. Stern he implied that he has offers flowing in since this all blew up. He also pointed out that he was on the set, ready to shoot, and it was CBS that pulled the plug. He then went out and fought (successfully) to get the production crew paid for the cancelled episodes.
I didn't read up too much on the custody fight, but it seems like a cash grab by his soon-to-be-ex.
Cliffs: Sorry, Still Winning!
1. CBS backed Sheen publicly (remember how much criticism they took over that?) but warned him privately that, if he does go on the attack, they'll cancel the rest of the season. They (reasonably) didn't want to immediately resume filming because he was being so unpredictable... and because he looked like fucking shit. Shocking. But his ego - and his big fat mouth - got the best of him and he called what he thought was a bluff. Stupid, impatient, entitled, juvenile, the list goes on.
2. The crew is only paid for the remaining 4 episodes... then they're out of a job, barring a new revelation. You can try to credit Sheen for this, but that's not a fact, only a subjective conclusion you've drawn.
3. I don't doubt that it's a cash/attention grab on the part of Mueller, but that's not even remotely the point. The point is, if Sheen had his shit together by any meager measure, she wouldn't have been able to pull it off. So her intentions are irrelevant; if Sheen was any resemblance of a responsible parent, he wouldn't have had his kids yanked and thrown into another junky's custody.
As entertaining as his rants are - and they are most definitely entertaining - they're just rants. We can all cheer how he's 'putting it to the man,' but come on, let's grow the fuck up and call a spade a spade. It's one thing to shun society's standards of how we should act, but he has a track record for drug benders, drinking benders, decking his childrens' mothers benders... this is your hero? Do you call yourselves men?
