I used to have a cat that slept in the hamper. If you wash their beds, they don't like it and refuse to sleep in it again. At least mine did.

My cat likes new fresh surfaces to lounge on.
Like newspaper. Drop some papers on the floor and she'll walk over and sit down ... and stay there.

No, I washed the cat's bed, and then she started sleeping in the hamper. Yeah man, I put my hamper in my washing machine and then hung it out to dry. 😛
 
My cat used to do that, with a box that was under a table I had set up. He could barely squeeze into it, and I think that was really what he liked about it! 🙂

I bought him a bed one time. He'd knock it off his favorite sleeping perch, so he could lie down! LOL

No one can explain cats......tho I'm sure they feel the same way about humans!! 😉
 
Cats love boxes because they are warm and dry, and secure with only one entrance/exit. Every time I get a package in the mail and open it mine run upstairs to jump in the box.

Mine sleep whereever. My wife wanted to get them a bed but after I brought home a box from work and they wouldn't leave that alone, she gave up. 😉
 
Mine is even worst... she'll sleep in her bed, UNTIL after getting bathe... then she won't sleep in that bed any more. So we've resorted to giving her old pillows, and she'll sleep on that until she's bathe, than we'll toss it out/wash it.
