Man, that update took me a long time to download. I know its 385MB, but usually (with FIOS) I can DL something that size in a reasonable time.

Anyway, I love some of the UI changes they made. Also, it appears to load up a little more quickly?

What an awesome amount of content for free.

Heres what I noticed:

News menu
Better organization of awards/records (shows you how many cars you havent shut down!)
Races now show start to finish with different colors
Slider bar when choosing car to see how far you are in your own car list

Looks like X360 owners are going to have to wait. I guess they got denied certification for the 2nd time.

Also, here are the update details:

Cagney, which adds three game modes, 70 timed challenges, two new vehicles, liveries and a barrage of changes to race rules, interface and basic feature-set. In addition it will also bring custom soundtracks and 1080i support to the Playstation 3. Criterion also mentioned that they will aim to add "many more" online modes as time goes on.

Ghey...

I'd rather a delay than something breaks my shit.

i usually go to the same 2 spots for stunt runs.

up on the train tracks or down on the bridge in the south west corner where the dam is.

My stunt run tips (take them worth a grain of salt as I've only had the game for a few weeks):

-Make sure you have a "stunt" class car (probably obvious)

-Remember, chain moves together, using the boost in little blips can keep your chain going for long distances.

-Find multipliers (big jumps, bilboards, and if you wanna risk it a good barrel roll location).

It really is all about finding the right location. Best spot I've ever found was the construction area in the West, although I've not been able to find my way back there since I found it (haven't looked really hard). First time I accidentally found it was in the middle of a stunt run and I did a triple barrel roll (completely on accident) into the area and there were jumps galore down there. Need to find the entrance to that again. The private airstrip has a ton of stuff to jump off of but for some reason I never seem to do well there.

Best place to start a stunt run for massive points (achievement!) is by the train bridge in the lower left of the map... the intersection there kicks one off. From there, fly up to the quarry, do some wacky stuff there... leave the quarry, fly back down to the bridge, and do some tricks there... then follow it allll the way over to the stadium.

if you're not too careless, you can get a wicked string from the beginning to the end and get mad points.

my biggest tip? Tap boost, then tap your normal break. Tapping boost resets the timer, breaking lets you maintain control.

I guess my main problem was finding where to string together the jumps without crashing.. I only have stunt run's left to do..

I won one of the stunt runs by stringing 5 billboards with 4 big airs and a reversed big air

Heheh ty cheating! Somehow I crashed technically so my car went spinning, but then it left crash mode and counted as a 6x multiplier... another time similarly counted I got a double barrel roll giving me a 4x multiplier

I beat the game last night :) earning my elite license and the gold cars.. this game was very much worth my $60. I got 38 hours of gameplay out of it.
