Fun, Almost done my A class license. Rented it, love Road Rages and Races. Stunt Runs should have been replaced with crash mode :(.

I also love the make-your-own-route element to the game. I don't know how many times I've taken a wrong turn, and after a quick plot of the map and few deftly maneuvers, I'm right back in the race. At one point I was way off course, and after a series of turns and luck, I ended up on a railroad above one of the bridges. I took advantage of one of the "holes" in the bridge, and dropped down onto the bridge right ahead of 1st, now 2nd, place. It was pretty awesome.

That's one thing I've learned is that no matter how lost you think you are or if you think you're completely done for, you're not a lot of times. I've come back from races that I shouldn't have even come close to being last.

I'm on my B license right now, and you have to win 26 events to get to the A license. I think I'm about 10 wins into that right now, so I'm well on my way. I've got well over half of the smashes, not too many of the billboards, and not too many of the superjumps. I was able to get my 360 degree achievement though.

26 is nothing, A class to Burnout license is 40 wins :Q

Just got this game today.

I like it so far, played a couple of hours online and offline, I catch myself just driving around instead of doing the races and challenges though. Really fun to just go around and explore.

BTW, I'm on PS3 as StealthLSU if anyone wants to look me up.

I drove around offline for an hour for the sole purpose of finding shit, and I'm amazed at how much stuff I've not actually seen even after I've racked up over 10 hours of playtime with the game in a mere 4 days. I was able to find the rest of the drive-thrus and parking garages, which gave me two more achievements. It was kinda stupid to have an achievement where you had to find all drive-thrus and parking garages, then another achievement where you simply have to find all parking garages. They should've just split them up.

I need to find only 8 more events, I've got around 50 more crashes to find, then it's on to the billboards (of which I have around 70/120) and the super jumps. I don't know why, but I could play games all day where I'm just trying to find shit. I loved finding orbs in Crackdown, this game is Crackdown in steroids.

My only problem with the billboards is that sometimes they're in the stupidest spots. Btw, finished the game today. Theres a license beyond the Burnout license, but it requires you to do EVERY event. I'm not that crazy for the 70G, so I returned the game.

I can't believe you got all there is to get out of the game already. Did you play online with anyone yet?

Some points:

- Regarding the map: I'd like more of an exploration based map instead of a "here's the whole map" deal... so when you drive somewhere, it shows up on the map. Either that, or at the very least have some way to add "tacks" to the map so you can label specific areas like reminding you where the Airfield or Quarry are. Similarly, the Quarry and Airport are in areas that don't look like anything, so it would be nice to reveal that once you find them.
- Where's my horn button?
- More coop online events. I know I'm still just scratching the surface, but why does everyone have to drift for one challenge? Also, 350 is a good number, but I want moreMORE
- If they can, I'd like to see the city be expanded with DLC. They've got a baseball stadium, how about football?
- Burning routes are the only events that are annoying to me. #1) You've gotta have the proper car. #2) You've gotta find the BR location #3) Its real easy to screw up and miss the target time. I have only attempted one, and failed multiple times.

In all, I love this game. Any purist who says "WHAT NO CRASH MODE?" "WHAT NO RESTART?" need to get over yourselves and give it a real chance.

My thought was that they should have a big oval track like Daytona sized or something that you could drive in and have events at. I hate Nascar IRL but it would be fun to drive these cars around a track and race your friends. I realize you can race in traffic and it is very fun but they could have had both.

I like the burning routes. Yeah some of them are difficult and they are definitely more trial and error than the rest of the events but you get a new car after every one.

Agreed. I've been in a few situations where I thought having some kind of "tack" system would have come in handy. As soon as I start any race, I immediately go into the map first to plot out my course. It seems like a lot of people hate this, but I love having to figure out how I'm going to get to a destination. To me, it's the same as plotting how you'll take down a room in Rainbow Six Vegas.....it's fun being able to do it your own way. There are many races where I've deviated from the path the computer takes and have been able to win.

- Where's my horn button?

No shit. A horn button would be awesome in multiplayer.

Damn, I thought 350 was large :). The simple "everybody use boost" challenges are completely retarded, but I love the ones where everyone has contribute to goals, like the one we played yesterday where everybody had to get to the bridge and jump 20 times and get a bunch of near misses.

- If they can, I'd like to see the city be expanded with DLC. They've got a baseball stadium, how about football?

There actually is a football field in the west-central part of the map, but there's no way to get onto the field.

Ya, I'm not looking forward to doing any burning routes simply for the fact that you have to have specific cars. It'd be nice if it could quick-load in the car you need while it's showing you the map to start the event, then give you back the car you had after you finish the event.

In all, I love this game. Any purist who says "WHAT NO CRASH MODE?" "WHAT NO RESTART?" need to get over yourselves and give it a real chance.

Agreed. I have absolutely no problems with the lack of a restart. I love how you are never taken out of the world. If you fail a race, there's another right nearby.

Amazing, amazing game so far, I love it.

There is a figure-8 dirt track in the south-west near the race destination marker for that direction. I'm sure that would suffice.

I was thinking that we needed to get 8 people together so we could get a couple achievements. If we all cooperated, we all could easily get the "Lead 6 of the 8 Today's Best" achievement. Seven of us would sit there while one person would quickly do 6 things (making a jump for length, getting air, oncoming, drift, power park, and a flat spin)....those would take all of 2 minutes to do, if that. Then that person would quit and immediately come back in, and the next person could take their turn.

It'd take 8 people to cooperate to do it, though. Everybody would have to be on the same page.

I know it's basically cheating to get the achievement, but the few times I played online this weekend, not once did I get into a room with 8 people. I think there's something buggy with the online portion anyway. In the demo, I know if you'd create a session, it'd fill up immediately, but when people quit, new players never joined.

I'd be down for that completely. Only because I'd rather play with you guys instead of random people online. It's a lot more fun flipping blurred off in the camera instead of some stranger. Of course, eventually I'll need to server hop so I can make 50 rivals.

I was kinda mad last night when I had to leave unexpectedly. I got my vision cam setup so you could see my face instead of just my far away self, and even setup a pile of props to flash to the camera... too bad I got to use NONE of them, except giving BV the one finger salute.

All of you upset with the burning routes, have you tried going to the map, selecting races, selecting burning routes, and then you can see exactly which intersection you need for your particular car?
Last night went through 3 or 4 cars and did the burning route for each in no time at all.

Yeah, I think I've completed 10 or 15 burning routes so far. I'm "working" on my Elite license at the moment (only 98 more event wins to go!) and the burning routes are a good way to kill 2 birds with one stone.

In my 10+ hours, it's easily a 9/10 type of game. So much to do. The online co-op challenges are awesome when it's something other than "Use boost."

I like the game so far though I'm mostly fooling around smashing through gates and billboards and doing superjumps but I'm having fun anyways. I really do not like the piss filter Criterion used for the visuals. Its sorta like Dirt and Most Wanted with that yellowish tinge and the darkened corners. I really don't like it and wish I could turn it off.

I have no comment to this statement.

Today, I discovered a loadtime in the game other than the very first one! Oh noes! I had been so caught up in challenges that I hadn't bothered with any of the 'vs' modes (ie Racing). When you are online, you can create a race match basically placing a start point and an end point. It's really quite cool (and you get an achievement just for participating in your first race). You can place a cap limit on the class of cars you use, and even place checkpoints that drivers have to hit.

After you setup the match, it places you back in normal freeburn (no loadtime yet) then when everyone is set to go, you can "start race" and it launches everyone to the starting line, inducing the only real during game load, and allows you to pick a new car for the race, then the race begins.

After the race is over, you view a results board and drop back into freeburn (no load time) back in the car you were in before, but at the finish line.

I love this game, even with its tiny load time :)

Really it's because if I play an online game it's usually on the PC. I had it for 3 months and canceled it.
