*Official* Boycott Bandwidth Cap Thread *Confirmed*

I, Sssnail, here by confirm that as soon as my ISP starts to introduce some sort of ridiculous bandwidth cap scheme, I will switch to another ISP that is more reasonable. While making sure my would be previous ISP know the cause of losing my business.

I, randay, will not have that choice since there is a monopoly on high speed internet here in Hawaii.

Eventually, you will leave all ISPs since they'll all be switching to caps eventually... then you won't even be able to post your anti-ISP threads.

I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it. - Mitch Hedberg

Depends on what he means when he says "ridiculous bandwidth cap scheme." SSSnail, do you mean you'll leave your ISP when they institute a bandwidth cap scheme because all caps are ridiculous, or do you mean you'll leave it if they introduce a cap that you deem ridiculous (e.g. Time Warner charging $55 for 40 GB)?

verizon keeps sender me letters about DSL, but i can't get FIOS where i am in philly. hurry the hell up, VZ, so i can ditch comcast (not that i'd ever use 250gb a month, but it's the principle of the matter)

I had a 60GB cap when I was at school with Rogers, and they charged you $2/GB after going over. However, the limit was $25 extra, so we just went way over every month. Now that I'm home, my ISP here doesn't have a cap.

Yes, this was intended towards something as ridiculous as TWC proposed. If they even as much as hinting towards this, I'm gone, and I couldn't care less if I'm going back to DSL. If they're all going towards the stupid bandwidth cap, I'm gonna use the library to access the internet.

I've done away with cables, I have a set of rabbit ears that seems to entertain me just fine enough amount of television. I'm guessing internet will probably be the next "evolution" because if they start to get ridiculous, I'm not stupid enough to stick around for it. I suggest you guys do what you can to voice your opinion about this new form of monopoly, this collusion that's blatantly displayed but no one in powers will do anything about it.

This goes for everything that touches our lives. We're giving up way too much, start taking back what's yours. Start with your freedom of choice.

I have already sent a letter telling TWC that after enduring price hike after price hike and still getting the same shitty channel lineup and now being told they may severely limit data consumption to snuff out video competitors I will be gone in a heartbeat from both video services and data if they try this shit.

You know, as many people on here are aware of this, I'm surprised this thread isn't getting larger. What if there are TWC drones <shifty eyes> here and they're watching, and they see that there are no supports for the cause, a.k.a apathy and they'd go ahead and roll out their plan. What I'm trying to say is, preventative is better than having to fix. If this gets large enough, perhaps someone will notice, I know it's kinda useless like "Online Petition", but it's doing something.
