The HP computer with 15" LCD for $498 at Walmark looks good becuase there is no rebate. If you want to get a desktop the latest you have to get to the store is 4:30 am. The store I normally go the the store at 5 am and usually there is 100 people + people lining up already (this is Chicago).

For absolutely ANYTHING you want from Best buy on Friday, your only hope of getting it is to go wait outside the store NOW.

Replies that are as articulate as yours are, as a rule, not supposed to occur in online boards such as this. 😎

Props to ya, babe.

Any idea what's going to be on sale at Microcenter?

Not that they've been particularly spectacular lately--not likely that I'll even be in town for BF--but I do live less than a mile from a MC, so if you're really jonesing for one of their deals, I might be able to help you out.

Can anyone suggest a strategy for getting one of the laptops at Walmart on Friday? They open at 5am. When should I get there? Do they disappear in the first 5 mins?

Also, do the online purchases have the same restrictions? For example, do they open at 5am?

Thanks

I can't really find a post on people finding a good LCD

So I'm going to ask: Has anyone heard of any store having a sale on a 17 or 19in LCD? Thats good quality😀?

I like Netgear stuff - and Staples has a SuperG+PCMCIA combo for $30 - a good deal IMO

Netgear eh? I was looking at this earlier:

I've seen mixed reviews, but it's right in my price range, any input?

I can't find that sale you speak of, of the Super G and PCMCIA at the staples website, is it a local sale?

The HOT DEAL on notebooks this year seems to be between these:
WalMart
HP Pavillion ze2308wm Notebook Computer - $378.00 (No Rebates) (This price depends on which STORE you shop at ...example another WalMart store in my area has this same notebook for $488.00) Buyers beware.

Circuit City
Toshiba L25-S1193 Laptop - $449.99
Best Buy
Toshiba L25-S1192 Celeron M 370 Notebook w/ 256MB/40GB/WiFi/Combo Drive - $379.99

Best Buy also has a GATEWAY system that has Celeron M 360, a DVD Burner, TruBrite 15.4 widescreen , 60 gig HDD , 512 MB Memory for - $579.99 ( I'm not sure on the rest of the specs. or the model)

$579.99 sounds pretty good for a system with a dvd burner. Does anybody know more about this Gateway system?
