4am is as early as I am going to BB..though Ill probably plan on 5am....I have read that some stores have 100+ of the $499 laptops.


I am making a back-up plan now just in case there are like 100 people there at 5 or something.


Officemax, Office Depot and Circuit City all have about $300 in MIRs to deal with...though they also have slightly better models as well.

Thats the thing I am hoping isn't going to happen, 50 people in line at 5 am. Or worse, 20 people in line, who get joined a few minutes later with 20 of their friends.

Ya know, I'm not that enthralled by the current BF deals...not much I really need...except for the camera at Fry's (Which got bad reviews on epionion.com), some PS2 games, that dvd player at Fry's (which I'm getting for my brother, since he has the sense not to get up this early), a dvd player carrier bag (same, for my brother-in-law), some dvd's at circuit city (for my g/f, who is working right now), and the hd at omax, everything is not really useful to me. True, this is still a kind of long list, but most of it isn't even for me. I really don't need to be getting up at 5:30, especially since there is a woot-off going on right now (Damn them, doing it on BF). Only got >4 hours of sleep (which is a record for me, pray for me...hope I don't crash).

The plus side is that I shouldn't have to go through too much hell, since I only have a few things to get, although they are at 4 different stores...

reeeeaaally not worth all the trouble. Oh well. Fun time soon. Hope this was coherent.

Since this year deal is so "hot" I get to sleep in for the first time in 3 years on BF morning. Than my friend call me at 6:30 am to ask me for a BB deal.....@##$%^@$# now can't go back to sleep.

Note, for anyone who was not in line by about 4 am. good luck, i just drove to BB, and now im back home... Totally not gonna get anything that i wanted, casue the line wrapped around the building at 5am already.

The Cashier pointed me to their "easysaver" flyer, which had nothing for the CD-Rs and Case Logic CD wallet, nor did the web site. Pfft.

i camped. got the laptop. at the bb i went to, i heard they had 42 laptops, so i think even at 3-4am, u might have gotten it. i got there at 1:30 and was 11th in line... 8th for the laptop. the first person in line was there at 9pm on turkey day :shocked:

Snagged a PNY Geforce 6800 for $199 this morning at the Forest Hills, NY CompUSA. I was number 17 in line outside the door. Got there at about 5:10am. They opened the doors to the lobby area of the store to keep warm at about 5:30...actually didn't let people shop until about 6:05. By the time they let us in, I'd say about 100 people were on a snaking line inside. I was the second person to grab a 6800. I didn't see many in the locked glass cabinet, so hope they had some in the stockroom for anyone else who waited.

A few people were there for the ATI All-In-Wonder card. They were enticed by the TV capabilities, but I pointed out to them that the 6800 runs circles around that card, after I got one, of course!

After I got home, I pounded away at the Staples website to grab the 39.00 160G hard drive. That took some time!

Went to BB at 3:45am and i was the 60th person in line.. haha i still got my 712N though. Im happy.

It seems that every year gets worse. It will be mad funny if people started having their thanksgiving dinner outside a BB or CompUSA at 6pm. hahaha

Did anyone see on the news about vandals in Lafayette, LA gluing the doors shut on alot of the stores? Man, wouldn't that pi** you off if you had been standing in line for hours and still couldn't get in! All the locksmiths in town probably made out like bandits though!

Thanks OP. I mostly went forthe wireless equipment at CompUSA. The Motorola stuff is quite good and absolutely standard compliant. IT's just not as well known as the Belkins and Linksys of the world... Revamped my entire wirless network for $10 per device: nice!
