that looked pretty easy for the gators.

whatever happens, not sure one team will dominate this game.

and yes, the gators DO belong in this game.

Man, that was cheap... Florida had a chance to go all the way if it weren't for that facemask. :|

part of the game, same reason you can strategically use pass interference instead of giving up a score or even preventing an INT (offensive pass interference)

I think it's borderline cheating if you do something like that intentionally to prevent a game-changing event. Other sports have much harsher penalties for situations like that for exactly that reason.

The NFL certainly does for PI. The ball is moved to the spot of the foul and plus an automatic first down. In college, just 15 yards and a first down.

Isn't it cheating when you commit a penalty and not get flagged?

The rules are the rules. The kicker has to do what he needs to do to bring the guy down.

I agree. In basketball, if you try to do a "breakaway" fault, the other team get two free throws, and the next possession.

There's a reason there is a penalty for it. What about plays where there is a holding penalty (for 10 yards) that negates a score even though the penalty was on the opposite side of the field and had nothing to do with the result of the play? Its part of the game, deal with it.

No. Most pass interference penalties are not intentional, they're accidental due to momentum or being too aggressive. Compare that to someone just tackling the receiver when the ball isn't even near him. See the difference?

Now I can't say the kicker grabbed his facemask on purpose, but that's the only way he was able to bring him down. And it's unfortunate that a good run ended that way, especially considering what happened on the previous kick.

yeah, like in basketball when the last quarter of the game is just intentionally fouling to try and win? :disgust:

way to go OSU, why don't you just take a knee on fourth down next time and save Florida some effort.

Couldn't that be a penalty going for the QB's legs like that?

Yea that looked very intentional going for smiths knee's given he didnt even need to dive to sack him.
