Man looking at the screenshots on that site almost turns me on. Check out that Top Gun-like screenshot of the two planes on top of each other...I wanna try that!

Can anyone recommend a good video card for this game for under $200.

My AIW Radeon 32meg (see WinXP box in sig) just isn't cutting it. At 640x480x32 with all the details turned down, I'm lucky if I can maintain 40fps. Big change from CS where I get the max fps with everything turned up at 1024x768x32.

- MurderDeathKill (funny considering that I've taken a liking to the medic kit in the game)

You should be able to find a GF4 Ti4400 for just under 200 bucks. and the 4200 would be even cheaper and is still an awesome card (the Geforce4 Ti4200 got Anandtech's Best card under 200 dollars when it first came out) Check HotDeals and see if they have anything

It's a pretty intense, in-game feeling when you're playing chicken with an opposing force's plane.

They've done an excellent job with the vehicles.

ohhhhh poopy they pushed the release back, it isn't coming out until saturday now.

Crap I planned on playing all day tommorrow :( :(

So would a GF4 Ti4200 with 64megs be able to handle this game pretty good?

Newegg seems to have some good prices on those, quite a few in the $130-$140 range. Looks like it would be a good interim card until I build a new system next Spring/Summer. After spending way too much on my current video card, I don't think I'll do it again. Hopefully by then, cards like the Radeon 9700 will be down to the $200 range.

the game didn't get pushed back its just they've been advertising as releasing on th 11th which REALLY means it ships on the 11th. They expect it to be in ALL stores by the 14th. Maybe your store sooner.

- I think that card will work fine. I've got a Geforce3 Ti200 which is signifiacantly smaller than the Ti4200 and I get decent FPS @ 1024 with most settings. It will from time to time bog down and die when there are most of the servers 32 people on screen or something so sometimes when I'm in a crowded server I'll set it down to 800. But you should be fine with that card. If you could splurge go for the 128 MB model just for future umph.

my computer is ass slow, but i think my 1337 fps skills make up for it. I've only actually played this game twice, but I'd be interested in joining

there is NO WAY you'll be able to get it tomorrow. Its not even shipping until Wednesday. Wednesday is HIGHLY unlikely but thursday you may have a chance and Friday I hope to have it

Just got off the phone with my local EB. They said they'll have it on Thursday the 12th. Dammit!

My Radeon 8500 handles the game maxed out 1024 with out breaking a sweat!
It can be had for well under $200...

does anyone know if they are going to do a linux/unix port for the server portion of this game or have they already?

I have a 1700XP running OpenBSD that I could serve on. Only problem is I only have a cable modem.
