Official Back to the Future Website is up - BTTF DVDs coming soon

I just noticed that Universal's official Back to the Future site is up and on it says that the DVDs are coming soon. To my knowledge this is pretty much the first confirmation from Universal that these DVDs are close to release. It's about time too, BTTF was originally slated to be one of Universal's first 10 DVD releases back in '97! Let's just hope we don't have to wait too long. 😀

LOL i don't know why i find this post sooooooo humorous this morning..... LOL

BTTF was the hottest VHS rental back in the mid-to-late 80s. I remember being on waiting lists for weeks to rent it. I don't know why it was so popular. Part of the appeal of renting it was saying that you had the tape in your hands. The movie is OK.

I love Back to the Future, but I'm at work and I can't access the flash, so I have a question for those of you that can access it.

Are there going to be special edition versions released at the same time as the regular ones? I think it really sucks when they release a DVD, then wait a couple months and release the SE versions.

It's about time these got released on DVD. A few months ago I was surprised to find that they didn't have them on DVD already.

The Flash doesn't provide you with any useful info, it's just a bunch of pics. The versions they release will most likely (99% chance) be the SE's. It will be similar to the Godfather DVD collection.

SCHWWEEEETTTTT!!!! I hope it doesn't take them too much longer. Back to the Future (the first one) is still my all time favorite movie. I've watched it sssooooo many time on VHS that I can recite the whole movie's dialouge from beginning to end. Yeah, I know, get a life. I just hope they don't ruin the series with some STUPID Special Edition like George Lucas did with Star Wars. Anyone ever see the edited T.V. version where Marty says "Geezzz Louise!" instead of "Jesus Christ!"? I still crack up when I think about that.

I always remember the part in BBTF 2 when he's in the water and the gangsters have just smashed thru the window and he says "Holy (jeeez)!"

Dude, that rocks, the only other way to see this stuff is on VHS and those crappy VCD's on ebay :disgust:

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just watched the first movie last night on VHS and was thinking about how nice a DVD would be. DAMN, I can't wait!!!!! I've never seen the Widescreen version....it's going to be awesome!!!!

WOOHoOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc, are you trying to tell me that my mother has got the hots for me?
Dr. Emmet Brown: Precisely.
Marty McFly: Whoa, this is heavy.
Dr. Emmet Brown: There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?

Hot damn!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀😀😀:😀:😀😀😀😀D😀:

BTTF on DVD is hardly the same thing as BTTF on TBS.
The DVD will be anamorphic widescreen, with 5.1 audio, unedited, no commercials and extra features.

My two favorite Biff lines:

"Why don't you make like a tree, and get outta here!"

"That's about as funny as a screen door on a battleship."

LOL

Old Biff: "Look just in the car butthead......"

Young Biff: "Hey, who are you calling butthead?...... Butthead........"
